    Marlin was from the “cool guy” generation of drivers. They raced because they loved it. The races were real, the tracks were legendary, the drivers appreciated the fans. I miss those days.

    My favorite driver from day one.
    I met him once.
    He was so kind and personable.
    He looked me straight in the eye and made me feel like a brother.
    That made me his fan forever.
    I’ll pray for him and his family.
    God bless them all.

    Heartbreaking to see Sterling this way, Parkinson's is such a terrible disease. Sterling was truly one of the very last of the "Old Guard" of NASCAR. In those days a ride wasn't just given to a driver, they had to earn their way to drive a NASCAR stock car. Sterling was an engine builder, pit crewman, even a crew chief for his fathers race team before be became a household name in NASCAR. Hang in there Sterling, God is watching over you.

    • @martymclochlin4836
      @martymclochlin4836 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yup they just dont make outlaws and gentlemen like sterling much anymore. It is sad to see this condition take over anyone's life but sterling is strong and he obviously will not quit till he's in the dirt. Really one of the guys that helped bring NASCAR to its commercial peak in the 90's. Those daytona wins will never be forgotten and neither will his contributions and character.

    I always felt that NASCAR dropped the ball when taking care of former drivers. I feel that every driver that completed at least one year as a Driver in the CUP series should get a lifetime Pit Pass to any and all Cup races.....for LIFE. Not just the Champions....... ALL Drivers that complete a year in the CUP series . If I was in charge I would make this a NASCAR Rule.

    I really became aware of him @ Daytona with the yellow car. Irvan wrecked him and the 3. The 4 was STRONG. Hate he's sick. Maybe they can find a cute or treatment.

    Wonder if the focus it takes to race more or less counteracts the effects of the parkinson's cuz there is no way one could race a car very well at all with those symptoms rearing their head

    I feel bad for him I wonder if his neck injury in 02 contributed to his Parkinson's
