The EMD's of the Florida East Coast Railway

- Most freight trains on the FEC are headed up by the infamous GEVO/LNG combination, and such a sight can admittedly get old after a while. The railroad still uses it's EMD in abundance, its just a matter of finding them! In this video I spent a couple days out on the mainline chasing FEC's EMD's on 60+ car trains, a sight not known to many. Thanks for watching, and don't forget to like and subscribe!!
Hi this is Ron I'm from Fort Lauderdale FEC railroad is my favorite I grew up right next to it Down here there's no train horns I've seen a lot Of the railroad downsides and now upslides
FEC is only of my favorites as well, New Smyrna is an awesome place to watch if you ever get the chance

Once I saw a train with engine 441 that had quite a lot of wagons, this was three years ago so I don’t know which train it was.

That train loads of the cargo containers from the Titusville airport on us 1, if you stand on the bridge you can see right into the little container yard. There's another good spot to catch the train going fast Jones ave. boat ramp off of US1 in Mims. Check it out it's awesome at night time

Great content. I live just north of turnbull, in port orange, the line about 2 blocks behind my house. I can tell whats what and whos who by the time of day (though mostly night) and the horns. Nice to see an FEC local fan
I'd kill to live that close to FEC. Easily my favorite railroad, I have the most fun when I'm chasing them. Crews always seem to be so nice too.

👍 another great video. Living in the Eau Gallie section of Melbourne I never seen the red color locomotive are they a different model from the blue colored ones. Also I never knew the term doubling as the crossing north of the Cemtex plant I'm always waiting not too long though as the locomotive and 2 to 4 hopper cars go pass than backs up.
Yeah the big red engines are General Electrics, and they don't use those too often on the Cemex trains
Beautiful. But that first train was 226, the SMLU traffic and abundance of CSX pool stuff gives it away.
Thanks for letting me know! I always thought that sunrise intermodal thru NSB was 218, but I wouldn't know for sure since I don't have a scanner ;P

Why does the 915 (second train) look like the engine is backwards?
Florida East Coast 438 is running Long Hood Forward. In other words, the long hood on the rear of the engine is leading. LHF was a common practice on the Norfolk and Western, and Southern Railways. Even Norfolk Southern did it. These days, it's seen mostly on locals.
