That crossing was a gold mine! No wonder that Florida East Coast train was booking. It had a Brightline hauling boogie right behind it! That was a lot of traffic through the day on that one track. Great job JT and Mrs. T!
I wish I would have stayed five more minutes. Another FEC freight came. I heard it on my scanner but I knew I couldn't get back in time due to the red lights and traffic
One thing for sure - you don't want to mess with running a crossing around there. A 65 MPH train will pop up in no time :) FECRR uses LNG for all of their diesels. They did the conversion a few years back. It makes a derailment a lot more interesting :)
The LNG/diesel 80/20 mix set up with the "tenders" only used on the mainline thru freight GE locos, the rest of the basically all EMD fleet is still traditional diesel power. The new GEs can run straight diesel if necessary.
Florida is CRAZY! There have been lots of Brightline accidents because of idiots going through active crossing gates, and it's NEVER the train's fault!
Too many 'Smart' people that have getting by with it for years, not realizing an 80 mph passenger train is slightly faster than a 40-50 mph freight train. That's okay, a great way to thin the herd.
Good morning JT & fans. WOW that freight train was booking! I think that is the fastest ive seen. Brightlines go very fast as well. Great Florida catches JT. I saw the inaugural Brightline service from Orlando to Miami think it was a couple of years back. ❤😊👍

Some areas Brightline can get up to 125mph. In Vero Beach they can get up to 80mph. That is pretty fast when you consider the numerous level railway crossings. I will have a few more Florida videos soon. Thanks for watching!
Great video JT & Mrs. JT! Busy line there in Florida. Nice to see some fast passenger trains. Just wait to see what they look like at 125 mph especially if traffic increases and they run 2 plus 8 car formations! I thought our British express trains were fast at 125 mph but I saw some TGV trains in France a few years back and they run at 186 mph so if you blink you almost miss seeing them and the wind they cause almost blows you away. It's quite a revelation! Nice to see a bit of the Florida street scene and the beach too! Enjoy the rest of your break.

I’m really glad you got to see the Florida East Coast railway’s red and yellow "Champion" paint scheme. They just recently changed their locomotive paint scheme to a new one, with several locomotives already wearing the new paint, and with more on the way. The champion paint scheme won’t be around much longer. You visited Florida just in time to see it before it’s gone.
Note that first train with the red with yellow stripe engines. They run on LNG liquid natural gas. The tank is in the middle. I ran loads to and from the Jax yard with Raven which FEC bought up, much to our dismay as drivers.
Wow, my grandparents lived on Merritt Island! I used to visit them in the 70s. They moved down there around 1975. Down there the statement what's the hurry is simple to get out of the way of the bright line. Even that FEC Freight is moving at a Brisk Pace with bulk commodities. The new modern no left turn trains sign is sure a lot different from that one in Kentucky with the smaller and dimmer yellow lights. Good job by Mrs Tooth to help capture all this fast action. Sorry JT the car ferry to Cuba last sailed years ago

Awesome JT! Thanks for getting some FEC and Brightline action! I remember growing up in South Florida back when the only power on the FEC was EMD power, now the have some GEVO power running on LNG , not very many other railroads use that! Great job!👍🏾👏🏾
Dad had a furniture store in Delray Beach, from the 60's to 1989. It was located on US1 (Federal Hwy). Behind the store was the Old Dixie Hwy. The FEC rails ran alongside Dixie. I remember the train wreck in the early 60's, caused by unionization conflicts. For years after, white Ford station wagons preceded every train, with shotguns aboard. Red flags on the fenders, going as fast as the trains, ahead far enough to call emergency stops. We lived in an apartment built into the back of the store. The 10:00 pm train would put me to sleep. Many memories of streamlined blue locomotives (about 5 or 6) going about 70mph are mine to this day.
Wonderful story you tell. In no way is FEC what it once was...LNG powering freight trains is bullshit. Brightline..."smoke-and-mirrors". Thankfully, real railroading still exists elsewhere in Florida, where people (and the media) dare not venture. CSX makes sure it stays that way, at least, here, on the (ex-ACL) "A" line where radio dispatchers and wooden ties still "rule".
Discovered a couple different youtube channels out there that have live streaming cameras on the front of those passenger trains in other countries.. So awesome to see these beautiful countries like that.

Great catches!! Looking at the speed of the Brightline trains makes me wonder why anyone would risk their lives vs. waiting to see those colorful trains do their duty?
Those FEC locomotives run on 80% Liquified Natural Gas and 20% diesel. Special built tank for LNG between the engines, certified to run next to an engine.
Two in a row, that’s being very lucky JT. Florida drivers are nuts take it from me. Boy brightline trains can really fly. I remember catching a meet between two brightline’s at a crossing recently myself. Great job Mr. and Mrs tooth.👍🏼

Thank you very much! Have a great week Roger
Great video of an action packed day in the Sunshine State! I'd like to have a $1 for every time the crossing gates go down there for a train! The Brightline trains roll through with no problem as well as the FEC! Thanks again JT and Mrs Tooth for sharing another great video with us along with your PRICELESS time and effort my friends! Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA.
You and me both! That would add up. A bunch of Brightlines
Wow! That was a busy location JT. Those trains really move through there.
Thanks for watching !
