  • Changes (1970), directed by Pat Rocco.
Non-fiction short about Los Angeles-based transgender protagonist, Jimmy Michaels.
Pioneering activist and filmmaker Pat Rocco produced short-form gay erotica in the 1960s that was widely embraced by the gay community, and received positive reviews from the mainstream press. Rocco's prolific output of erotic films slowed in the early 1970s as market preferences shifted toward hardcore fare In the late 1960s through the 1980s, Rocco shot historically important footage of gay demonstrations, parades, marches, festivals and events, providing some of the only existing moving image documentation of the major beginnings of the gay rights movement in the U.S.

Pat Rocco was a porn filmmaker and landlord of Hudson House in Hollywood California, he was also a founding member of L.A PRIDE. I lived in Hudson House day one, after arriving in Hollywood, after stopping by the GAY & LESBIAN COMMUNITY CENTER on Highland Ave. I had modelled and posed for HUSTLER MAGAZINE and was showing the guys my photo's in the Mothers Day issue. The next day I met Pat, I could tell he was excited about meeting me. A couple weeks went by, I started a new job at the center as Administrative Assistant to the very handsome & fine Director Steve Schulte, the job fell into my hands when his assistant just up and quit. Two weeks later I was offered a job as an administrative assistant to a famous writer for a hot new show on T.V called MOONLIGHTING; his name was CARL SAUTTER. Carl was one of the most nicest men I met in Hollywood. Back to Rocco, he invited some residents to his cabin for the weekend, his black boyfriend David did not attend, he summoned me to his bedroom and I told his F-boy NO. From then on he was ready to kick me out into the street. I came in late one night and was told to go over to Pat's home- around the corner from Hudson House, items were missing and very little packed. Pat was a bitch, he tossed me my things and said good luck. Pat was a mover & shaker in Hollywood, the staff at the center had heard about his behavior and how he treated the young men that boarded at his sloppy flop house.... lol.... but just like men, they also had a boys club. I left and moved into my boyfriends apartment for three weeks until a studio became available in his building. I have zero respect for Pat Rocco.

Sidney Murray: That was made 50 years ago. She'd be at least 70 and most likely dead especially from AIDS since the 1980s.
Pat Rocco the maker of this film died about 3 months ago age approx. 84 on 11/09/19.

@@roberttelarket4934 That's a bit harsh. It was estimated around 10-15% of the population contracted and died from AIDS related illness, clearly not the majority. We have no indication of how many partners she had. Rocco died from a heart condition 🤷🏿‍♀️ Sidney certainly was a stunner - gorgeous androgyny.
