    This is why Lesbians are fed up, because for litiraly 35 years people have been saying “what about Men? Don’t you miss men?!”
    “No we’re Lesbians, that’s kind of the whole point!”

    I enjoy how in the information box it says "Three politically incorrect lesbians talk about being lesbian." Safe to say, I think we FINALLY caught up with these awesome women as I didnt hear anything that sounded in anyway 'politically incorrect' (to the point where I´m honestly kinda disappointed!). it took us almost 40 years, but we caught up!

    In 1987 I joined the Army. In 1990 I was in Fort Riley. That's when I met Maria, she looks like Diane with the same personality. I am a Hispanic male. I met her, while preparing to deploy to Iraq. I recognize that she was gay immediately. No one else picked up on it.
    Maria and I did spend some personal time together.
    Through her.
    I realized that being lesbian was just normal to her. Others did not see it that way.
    Well I made sure she would be respected. Maria performed her duties like all of us. She would say "I am me and this is what you get. If you have a problem! My Mexican would deal with you" LMAO
    I like Diane's approach, just like Maria's.
    As a straight male. I personally see today's issues with the alphabet crew, As a joke. Just be you. Like Diane and Maria.
    I always thought of Maria as an old school lesbian, legit, beautiful, solid, dependable and will have your back.
    Before joining the military, my two bosses were lesbians we all made money. Great people.
    God bless you all. 🇺🇲🥃
    P.S I found this video because I wanted to find someone like Maria. So my girlfriend's daughter who is gay. Could see who I had the pleasure of meeting.
    This new generation takes away from women like Maria. With so many pro nouns.
    Just be a strong version of yourself respected and enjoy life. It's really short.
    I guess I got lucky.

      Complicated genders , transitions, roles and archetypes make this society sick , you just dont realise how much we need sincere and brave friends like you sometimes having a male freind is better 10× than females .

      I agree with you. I'm a bisexual woman who's mostly into women. God I miss these old school lesbians. Actually I grieve for them. They are the ones I would love. But now everyone is into the alphabet soup and turning themselves into "men". Like my ex did. I'm not into that.

    Man, that's the healthiest thing I've seen about lesbianism in a long time that I can identify with. Just normal people who can deal with it and are cool with it, not this toxic mainstream that is unfortunately much louder in the LGBTQ community these days than us people who are just like that and just want to live their lives and want be left alone because that's nothing spectacular. It's just part of life. I love them, I hope they had a good life, I'd be interested to know if they're still alive today and what they're up to

  • @nodoboho
    @nodoboho 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    The looks are right, but something doesn't seem right in the questions and some of the reactions. By 1986, _somebody_ (especially soft butches) would have immediately refuted the "don't you want to have kids...like normal/all women?" WTF? *Nobody* I knew--in the '70s _or_ '80s--was interested in having kids! And many of us weren't even especially butch. And it's ludicrous to ask such obviously gay women "Don't you need a man in your life?" There were posters or T-shirts that had the famous line "A woman without a man is like a fish without a bicycle." and that sentiment was subscribed to by many _straight_ feminists, let alone gay ones.
    I think this was a ham-handed satire of mainstream interviews, thought up by some Stanford students. Not an indication of what was going on in the Bay Area or L.A. back then. I was coming out and in the lesbian scene in L.A. (and at UCLA for a bit) '77-'87.

    These questions are so 1950’s! Totally clueless interviewer. Then again, that might be the point since much of the hetero normatives had no clue about lesbians in the mid-80’s.

    Ugh I hate the questions that they are asking, but they are the most frequently asked questions. I guess this film is more directed towards the cis-heterosexual general population for education purposes, at least that's what it seems like. Nothing wrong with that by the way.

    • @brianarbenz1329
      @brianarbenz1329 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Circa 1986, we were still in an era of presumptions questions like those, based on the paradigm that heterosexual equaled human and all else was a “phenomenon.” Those questions were what people heard. It’s a sign of progress that people are not automatically presumed to be heterosexual.
