And once again Diana proves her versatility. She makes the song her own, presents it recognizable and yet changed, sensual, passionate ... simply incomparable our goosebumps princess. This show offers her a great platform for this.
At the end of the show, Igor Krutoy was the guest juror, who paved the way for Diana in 2018 as a juror in the “You are Super” competition and supported her. In this episodes as well as in the previous episodes (judge: Olga Kormukhina and Larisa Dolina) Diana had to carry a greater burden than the others and she mastered these challenges with flying colors. Maestro Krutoy called her a unique singer. With this song she earned 2nd place in this episode and victory in the overall standings and all of her fellow campaigners give her this from the bottom of their hearts and wish her all the best for her future career.
Depeche Mode is an English synth-rock or synth-pop group. Founded 1980 in Basildon (Essex), England, Depeche Mode is one of the most influential bands in music history. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, the group is one of the most successful bands in the world.

I heard the same thing. There have been a many new interviews and magazine articles that I no longer remember when or where she said it.

You really hit the nail on the head when you said she never shows off, and always serves the song. In interviews, she has described her process as beginning with the meaning of the song and its emotional content, and crafting the performance from there. The result (because of the genius of Diana and whoever she is working with) is cover versions that are intrinsically her own, while also being consistent with the original versions.
The "showing off" that some singers do (that Diana Ankudinova could undoubtedly do, but never chooses to do) is something that has always taken me immediately out of the experience of a song. It says to me "now that the boring part (i.e., the song) is taken care of, let me impress you". Yuck.
Absolutely react to more Diana! Her album came out a week ago, and you can find all the songs (with subtitles!) on her channel!

Greetings from Scotland! Again, a great honest analysis Jacqueline! Diana never has been a show-off, it's just not her. She's one of the most connected singers I have ever heard, she just lets the song take control of her, body and soul. In other words, she totally becomes the song! If you watch Diana carefully she physically changes just before she starts singing and just disappears into the song, only reappearing about 5 seconds after the final note. Just look at that expression on her face at the end of the song, that isn't Diana! Just one part of what makes her the phenomenal performer she is! Great reaction again Jacqueline! OK, what next from Diana? I don't believe you've reacted to her singing "CROW" yet? Another masterpiece in this contest. I was very shocked to see that someone of Diana's age would consider taking on something of such significance from the past, but to her credit, she performed this eleganty. It was beautiful and her voice just hypnotic and haunting. This has to be the one of the best of her performeces ive ever heard and the Russian overtones is mesmorising thoughout. Thank You, Diana... This is a new TV show in russia. There are 9 weeks with 9 shows and 9 well knows artists. Diana is the youngest artist. They had to sing songs from 9 genres. The last TV show was on 20. november. The 9 artists are also the judges for the other singer. And Diana (18 yo) won this competition. She shocked the other singers with the first song. You have seen the judges.
The Crow was her masterpiece in this competition, in my opinion.

This version of Personal Jesus is closer to Marilyn Manson's version than the original, which makes me think Diana likes all kinds of music (including alt and metal)
I think Diana really likes the 80s era music. This particular song was from the "singer's choice" category so she chose it herself. She's done other covers from that era, too. A-ha's "Take On Me", the Scorpions' "Maybe I, Maybe You", and Venus (Bananarama had a famous cover of it, but I don't remember the original group off the top of my head). I'd love to hear what she would do with Europe's Final Countdown. Also someone needs to let Arjen from Aryeon know about her.
