Diana Ankudinova has been working hard to extend her upper range, quite effectively, obviously!
Here are three reasons why Diana doesn't sound human.
First, she is a dramatic contralto, which is the absolute rarest type of female voice. It allows her to sing very dramatic/powerful, very (I mean VERY) deep, very dark, very rich.
Second, she has a spectacular larynx. She's been called the Eighth Wonder of the World.
Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below)
When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune.
And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in seven billion.

This is a new competition show and those are her competitors in the stand reacting to her singing. The guy who stands up is an opera singer who is blown away. Her next song that you will need to react to is “Momma I’m dancing”. It’s upbeat and the original was sang by two girls that had 220 million views so it’s popular with the younger generation and now she adds a little rap portion during her performance that will blow you away. Diana sings every Saturday on Russian TV for two Months. This was the first song and she has uploaded all 3 of them to date on her official TH-cam channel. They are all amazing plus she doesn't block like Russian NTV station does. Her non-English songs all have quality English subtitles as well. She has six more Saturdays of performances to go. She filmed this show on her school break. There are no judges...just 8 of her peers singing and they rate each other for fun.

когда я увидел и услышал это выступление (1й этап шоу Маскгоон), я пересматриваю его по несколько раз на день. Это шедевр. Она очень выросла как исполнитель. Но с другой стороны мне уже не так интересно слушать её старые песни. На фоне этого выступления всё что было раньше (как впрочем и её выступления на 2 и 3 этапах шоу) выглядит как то бледно. Она очень высоко подняла планку - и очень трудно удержать её. Очень надеюсь, что она справится.
Согласен ,она подняла планку . Но то что она сделала на Ты Супер,это уже вершина мирового вокала. Это будут разбирать в консерваториях по нотно! Она предложила новую технику исполнения . Это не совмещенныые голосовые связки как в опере а большой продув воздуха с контролем гортани по всему регистру.Она делает йодль и делает резонирование по всей голове как музыкальному инструменту.Можно сказать что она революционер .Обьясню , ни одна опера так не воздействует на психику как пение Дианы. Бельканто поражает ,но не затрагивает так душу.Хотелось бы послушать мнение музыкантов.
Внесу свою ложку дегтя - во всем мире многие преподаватели, певцы и музыканты уже шарахаются от новоиспечённых "звезд вокала", которые без техники обработки звука ничего из себя не представляют... Появление Дианы и Димаша всколыхнуло всю музыкальную тусовку, вплоть до того, что некоторые предлагают переезжать в штаты (умышленно с маленькой) и там им будет райская жизнь... Did you notice,when she did these high runs (the part where the opera singer got to his feet) and she ended with a long note, her powerful deep voice already appeared underneath,while she still was holding the high note. The song itself is low-quality pop, all the more interesting how Diana transformed it. After this performance, many compared her to the ancient Greek goddess. The goddess of nature, Diana was already (River), she was a ghost (Wicked Game), as well as the reincarnation of an ancient warrior princess, now into a Greek goddess :)

The man who jumps up is the famous opera singer Yusif Eyvazov and husband of the world-well known opera singer Anna Netrebko. He is a guest of honor and representative of the operatic genre in this first episode of the competition.
Those competitors have to evaluate each other and they have praised Diana in the highest tones: “Diana has no competition on the show, she amazes with her talent, it is impossible to tear yourself away from her, you want to listen endlessly, they have tears in their eyes and are even afraid to blink”.
8 out of 9 participants (Diana cannot give herself any points) gave Diana the highest number of points (9). So those sitting up there are the other singers, Diana sits with them when others perform. Plus the guest star of each episode, this time it was Yusif Eyvazov (opera singer, tenor, he stood up during the performance).
They got only one 9 point, one 8 point, etc. So they are forced to give 2 points to someone, and they wont vote for themselves.
She got 7x 9 points, 1x 8 points this round. The guest star of this episode gave 1 point to everyone equally = 72 total.
In each round, the participants will be offered nine topics: for example, one will perform a folk song, the second - a song by a Grammy award winner, the third - a rock hit , etc. "
The nine categories are: "People's Hit", "Song of the End of the 20th Century", "Soviet Song", "Hit from Every Iron", "Song of Your Choice", "New Music", "Song from a Movie or Cartoon",
"Rock Hit" and "Songs of the Grammy Award Winners and Laureates".

Diana is something of an expert in harmonic production. People like to call her polyphonic, but it's not always overtones. She's also frighteningly good at subharmonics and I have no idea how she does it. I know how to access the subharmonic register with vocal fry like basses do, but what she does is something completely different. That subharmonic belt at the end is some kind of black magic technique.
Full head voice was a new treat with this performance. You didn't hear that much from her when she was younger. She said in interviews that she got really insecure up there when her voice first changed. She always had great agility in full chest voice, but now she should be able to do all those eastern runs on higher notes with a high placed mix. She's still one of the best chest belters I've ever heard, though. Effortless and full of volume. For us mortals our voices would get wrecked. Her speaking voice is extremely resonant with the kind of buzzing that you hear in bass voices. Of course that's where all that depth of timbre and color comes from.

Greetings from Scotland! Yes, "Delicious" is perfect! I invented a special word "Chocolateysmoothpower" to describe her otherworldly vocals! She is well known for polyphonic vocals, that's what you heard. Yes, at the end she was crying and so was I. In all my years (a LOT!) I have never heard another singer (Male/Female/Young/Old) who was capable of the vocal acrobatics Diana can perform! She is absolutely unique AND she's continually expanding her range and her abilities! My God! How good can she get? She is already way outside any categorization known in music! Now I would like to turn you and your readership on to a female vocalist who I consider the BEST female contralto vocalist on planet earth. (Even deeper and lower than Diana). Her name is “Lisa Gerrard” and If you or your subscribers would like to hear what the voice of an angel sounds like, then please TH-cam “ Lisa Gerrard”( singing) “Sacrifice”

It’s a live performance in front of a small crowd with only her low key organ instrumentalist named “Pieta Bourke” accompanying her. Please TH-cam the 8 minute rendition posted by “Ed garski” ( thank god someone taped it or this amazing performance would have been lost forever. To my knowledge there were no official versions.
If you love unique female mesmerizing angelic voices, then Lisa’s dramatic contralto will transport you to God’ s world. And she does transport you because when you look at her body-especially her face-you will notice it’s IMMOBILE, doesn’t move throughout the 8 minute performance as if her Voice is channeling God’s world and it IS because in an interview she asserts that all the words in the song were MADE UP and not in any dictionary, and furthermore not from any country on planet earth.
I’m hoping you will find the time to privately or publicly react-especially if you need healing or you are stressed during these troubled covid times.
I listen to this about once a month. Few females in the world have a voice like Lisa Gerrard.
When I’m on my deathbed and have 30 minutes to live, I want to be surrounded by my loved ones and hear Lisa transport me to Heaven where the celestial angelic singers
