📌Who is Diana Ankudinova? (Pronounced: Dee-ah-nah Ahn-koo-dee-no-vah)
Diana was born in May, 31. 2003 in the Far East of Russia. (Height: 1,70 m/ 5,7” ) She didn't have a happy start in life. The woman who gave birth to her had many pregnancies, only Diana survived ... and she abused the child and tried to drown it. One day this 3 year old child was found at a bus stop with a broken collarbone and taken to an orphanage.
There she finally found love ... by Irina Ponik, a massage therapist who treated the children from the children's home. Diana came to a poor but loving family when she was 5 years old.
Diana spoke badly, cried a lot and was still very scared, but she could sing all the songs from cartoons. A doctor recommended singing lessons. And so, the singing teacher Elena Kazantseva discovered Diana's talent. And all started …
Diana has something primal, mystical, but also sensitive and sensual in her voice and she lives her songs. She also has a perfect pitch and her sense of rhythm was exceptional even as a little girl. Diana is a dramatic contralto, the rarest and lowest female voice type (her range C3-D7) and her voice sometimes has polyphonic overtones. Diana impressed with her talent in over 50 national and international competitions.
In 2018 and 2019 Diana entered a unique competition and won twice. This project is unique in the world, an international TV- competition, especially for adopted and orphaned children, called: "You are Super!".
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to TH-cam and soon she had millions of fans. She is our goosebumps queen.
The project producers help the finalists start their studies and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship.
Igor Krutoy, here as a juror, gave her a small apartment (37m²/398,26 ft²) in Moscow. There, in the small flat she lives with her mother and grandmother and was able to begin her vocal training with the best teachers.
2020 Diana graduated from high school with honors as an external student a year earlier than it is 'normal'. That alone shows how smart and hardworking she is.
She applied to music colleges and was rejected (examiners suspected she had a voice defect). But she is totally normal and healthy. Now she is a student at the university, at the legendary Russian State Institute for Theater and Variety Arts. At the end of the show, Igor Krutoy was the guest juror, who paved the way for Diana in 2018 as a juror in the “You are Super” competition and supported her. Great reaction! This performance was from a Russian show that aired last fall, and ran for 9 weeks. There were 9 singers who were also the judges and critiqued each other. There were 9 genres of music they had to perform over the course off the show. Thus Diana sang in many different styles.

Я могу ошибаться и это моя, личная точка зрения: такие исполнители как Диана и Димаш строят свои песни по типу реки: вначале её течение спокойное, практически не заметное, по мере продвижения по реке течение становиться все более и более полноводным, бурным, стремительным, ну а ближе к концу реки - водопад, неудержимый, ревущий, бурлящий, пенный, все сметающий на своем пути...

..And to think that she was a bit ‘under the weather’ and the evening before had the indignity thrust upon her to have to take some seriously horrible tasting medicine to be able to perform the next day. (She does a lovely, funny bit of whining about it on tiktok, or instagram, cannot remember) She herself told that she had no actual recollection of the performance itself. It tends to happen to her when she’s ‘in the zone’. There is a funny, adorable ‘Diana reacting to Personal Jesus’ vid on her YT channel, where she watches her òwn performance in complete awe and bafflement, in a cute ‘Did I really do that??’ Way.
Noticed that this was only the second time EVER that she performed without her trademark ‘bangs’?
