It was nice to see this park through your eyes. We used to hold our family reunions at Racoon Park but no longer do. I haven't been here since I was a teenager but hoping to see it again this year. Thank you for posting.
We did this trail about a month after you did. When we went into the cabin and looked around we both said, “Cliff could live here!” 😂 BTW, we’re from Berks County, too.
cool video cliff, i live about 70-80 miles north, at clear creek state forest, kennerdell tract. ever in the area, give a shoutout. backpack camping in the forest, hike to the dennison overlook. ancient indian homeland
If you can find them, take a look at the base of the skunk cabbage for their big seed capsule...its really cool! Also, we tasted our first may apple fruit the other day (it was ripe) ...delicious! Tasted like a mix of apple and citrus!😊
The planes are much less now. . .back in the day Pittsburgh was a 'hub' - - the noise was deafening - -the 911 airbase was adjacent to the airport for some added roaring 😎
Ive heard of that place but was never there. Its really nice and not too far from me. I honestly thought the damsel fly was the female version of a dragon fly. 😅 Dah me! The cabin was adorable. Very nice hike.❤❤❤❤❤
Really cool trail. I wish I could remember the name of those blue flowers, I think they’re edible. I had some growing here and decorated a top of a cake with them. Can’t guarantee the same flower I’m trying to remember but look similar. Was wondering if those holes in the rocks were some kind of animal dens or hideouts. Great video. Thank you.
a lot of history in that area, no to far from the site of Fort Dillow where in the late 1700s there was an indian attack and a mr. Dillow was killed the area was settled by Scotch-Irish and on the other side of the park by the Frankford Springs is a cemetery in the woods with 100s of graves Scotch-Irish alot of whom are Rev. War vets
Grew up in Steubenville .I love Racoon Creek. I used to hike from the ranger station to the backpacking shelters. Not so young anymore.
Yes I could live in that cabin.. so cozy

Thank you so much for sharing. My parents were from Curwensville and I landed in Texas. Absolutely enjoy your travels.
I grew up 15 minutes from there and been all over that park from back to front.
Another beautiful area.

Very nice. Love a good place in the woods. Perfect area to do lots of thinking.
I camped there years ago. I lived in Pittsburgh. The park was louder than my neighborhood in the city!
Very close to Pittsburgh Airport.
The western side of the park is quieter. More remote, less people.
Been there several times. Trail across from the lake can be a real workout.
Thanks!
Thank you!

Lovely video thanks Cliff. Enjoy the planes. That creek was fabulous, lovely sound. Thanks for taking me along. Please take care
Oh good! Another camping trip! Too bad it is so close to the airport.
I was there last September and there was a lot of flowers maybe there's fall flowers too. Nice park
Cool little cabin, but needs an attached bathroom just because making for an out house in winter would really suck sometimes. Nice park area over all.
You. Last creek area sounds amazing!
That was a really good video Thanks for sharing

Would you mind sharing where they are? I love Raccoon Park and I love covered bridges

Noisy but still a pretty trail. The cabin was cute but if you lived there you would need a kitchen and bath. Thanks
