Those roundabouts are so much better than the traffic lights that were there. Saves a lot of time. Love em

I enjoy the graveyard tours! With traffic circles that have two lanes remind me of the movie " European Vacation " when they get stuck in the inside lane for hours in Paris!😅 Thanks again. 👍

You are allowed to fish at that area. You are not allowed to to boat to the right, that takes you to the main lake. You are allowed to boat to the left, it's very shallow. Kayaks and canoes work well.
Also Yellow House Hotel is one of the most history filled places that you passed.
    Great video, thanks.

Thank you Cliff, that would be great, doing a series of small historical towns. I grew up near Mount Holly, NJ, and live in Burlington City and both are historical towns. I grew up and still do, having a love of such towns. I've always had a love of history, whether it is people, places or objects.

I would never expect you to know much about Fleetwood. It’s just a small town like a ton of others in berks, but there is so much history. From its start as an overnight stop for oxen taking iron ore from Moselem to Oley Furnace in the 1700’s To why there’s a Fleetwood Cadillac, the metal body works you mentioned. They hand formed custom all aluminum body’s for high end cars like Duesenberg’s and Rolls Royce. Later they were bought out by Fisher then GM. There is so much more. If you ever do a small town series, Fleetwood would actually be worth a revisit. Any of the people at the historical society would definitely help you.

    Cliff,
keep right if your going to make a right turn at first exit, keep left if your doing a later turn
Always signals on circles( we call them round abouts here in Washington State).
    Cheers,

You’re making me want to come to Pennsylvania to do my own tour of where my paternal grandfather and his ancestors lived. I know several lived in Berks County, but they were mostly Austrian and Scottish.

Thanks for the ride-along. Being a Pennsylvanian myself, it really makes me happy to see all the open space still in PA, because where I am at in Chester County the development has gone mad and there isn't much open space left. This made my heart happy! If I was younger, I'd consider moving up that way!

Another old village to check out before it’s gone is Kulpsville, Pa. Visit the old graveyard adjacent to to the parking lot at the Holiday Inn filled with the Kulp family. Then next to the pedestrian bridge going over PA 63 behind Walgreens are some placards explaining the founding of Kulpsville.

Nice road trip. I was amazed when you said you were never to the Kutztown fair. This is the biggest activity that happens in Berks county every year. Last year 14,000 people attended. The old farm equipment is amazing. If you like the history of farming this might interest you. Stay well and cool.

Yellow House Hotel used to be painted yellow! And say Moselem Springs…mo-sell-um. The doctor’s office there used to be a very nice restaurant at one time. The mill is in the village of Moselem. I grew up over the hill from there, right outside Virginville. Thanks for this video!

Lovin this road trip. I always liked stone houses too.Ill take either one of them. Please go back to that cemetery preferably in the fall. I think Jon went past that yellow house in one of his videos. Im surprised there were no Amish farms along the way. I hate those round abouts, too. If you miss the turn,or not sure which one to take, you must keep going round. This was a great ride. Wish I was there. Safe travels ❤❤❤ ❤❤

As a quick side note, veering into Weavertown Rd from the big church (St. Paul’s United Church of Christ) will lead you to Exeter Friends Meeting House, at which the Boone and Lincoln families attended and some are interred. Meeting House was built in 1730.

My WPA Guide to Pa says that the big church in Amityville was opened in 1929…apparently built over an already existing church….another church nearby was built circa 1844. Originally there was one church, then a split happened and the there were two churches. Now fences have been repaired and Amityville is back to one.
