I hear you. Especially for men, it can feel like you're losing half of everything you worked so hard for. And it’s not just about the house or cars, but also retirement accounts, investments, and even future earnings
Yeah, I didn’t think about that before. I’ve got a decent portfolio built up over the years, but with divorce looming, I’m starting to realize how fragile it is. If I don’t handle this right, I could end up losing more than I need to
Exactly. It’s not just about who gets what, but how to split it without sinking your financial future. I mean, dividing up investments or a 401(k) is tricky. You can't just liquidate everything without serious consequences.
Not to mention the taxes. If you’re not careful, you could end up with a hefty bill from the IRS. A friend of mine went through a divorce, and his lack of planning cost him way more than it should have.
That’s why it’s important to get someone to help you with this. I’ve been talking to Joseph Nick Cahill, a CFP, about how to manage my portfolio through all of this. He’s helped me figure out the best way to divide assets without taking a huge financial hit.

Watching this captivating video stirs up painful memories of the recent end of my 4 year relationship. My beloved partner chose to depart, leaving me with an unyielding ache. Despite my relentless efforts to reconcile, I find myself grappling with frustration and an inability to envision a future without him. Despite attempts to purge him from my mind, I remain haunted by his absence, feeling compelled to express my longing here.

divorce rules 1. If you want, keep it. 2.Do not waste time with your attorney 3.Think and plan 4.File first 5.Temporary orders become permanent 6.Do not say anything to your wife you don't want repeated to the judge 7.Lead the life that you say you lead 8.Do not lie 9.Let it go 10.Keep it to yourself 11.Think before you re-marry
12. Number 6 is irrelevant as the wife will use mental or verbal abuse as a reason to garner empathy and to fill in gaps of testimony or lack of evidence and you cannot defend against these accusations as statute grants no room for defense.
Every time I had a sit down with my attorney he would ask me if I wanted coffee, I would reply I can't afford it. It would always evoke a smile on his face.
Divorce rules for men. Don't get married. There are no other rules. That's from someone divorced, who lost most of his assets he'd worked hard for. There is nothing in marriage for men. If you must get married, marry someone with the same, or more assets than you.
@@rangerwhite5165 What if you both did not want to sell the house? Anyway, I am feeling your pain and I am in a world of hurt. After 24 years of marriage, I am losing everything. A quarter century down the tubes. Well, almost: I did have lots of fun. Times like this moment seem like life, marriage, kids, are all not worth it. I don't really see much light at the end of the tunnel. 70/30? Did the judge give a reason? Kids?

Men should consult an attorney BEFORE getting married to find out exactly what COULD happen if their marriage ends. That may save a lot of pain for all involved, hopefully. DON'T GET MARRIED ! You can get everything you want without marriage. I never married, and I'm SO GLAD !
@Eric Anonymous I strongly disagree. We a re talking about property, lots of money that you can loose in case of a divorce. Preparing for a possible future event which has about 50% chance of occurring is a step a nut job would not take. Bill gates signed a prenuptial Agreement with Melinda before they got married.
They have some great lawyers at this firm. That being said, stay focused on what you need to do. Cry as much as you need to. Reaching out to freinds and family literally saved my sanity. Keep your eyes open and keep setting goals. It sucks. Period. And is very survivable. You can make it
Men, do not hesitate for one moment to put a restraining order against your female partner if you feel your safety and health is in jeopardy. Placing a permanent restraining order on my female partner was absolutely the wisest protective move of my adult lifetime. My only regret is not doing it years earlier. Men, be safe!
I tried that after the B&E's and the poisoning and the Judge said only MEN stalk and WOMEN observe. It was tossed because of being a Male. This allowed more B&E's and she knew it as it was open season on me. I had to live with friends for the Harassment to stop.

Well, 16 years I'm still having a hard time getting my head wrapped around it. All of a sudden she wants a divorce. Hasn't even been 5 weeks and she's mean as hell. Thank you for your video best regards from Kentucky.

Great video, A month ago, my five-year relationship came to an end. I really can't stop thinking about the love of my life, who made the decision to leave me. I've done everything in my power to win him back, but it's all in vain, and I can't imagine my life with anyone else. I genuinely miss him and just can't stop thinking about him, even though I've tried my hardest to stop thinking about him. I'm not sure why I'm saying this here.

Fellow experienced divorce lawyer here (Pennsylvania and New Jersey). Great video! Keep up the great work! Better yet for anyone reading this: stay safe. Stay single!
Marriage is good. Children are good. If you marry and she doesn't make as much as you, then get a prenup. I was the breadwinner and spent 200 grand supporting her over 5 years and paying her tuition. At the end she robbed me blind. A decade of hard work and assets flushed.
You should have thought before most women don't make as much of men . It used to be 75 cents to every dollar and only even out slightly. If your making a pre nup I guess you think your gonna get screwed. Great way to start ba marriage. Find a woman that makes more than you.
Again, married 16 years and totally blindsided by what my spouse is doing. there's no way she didn't have this planned you don't up and have somebody listed on an emergency protective order and in short order come up with a divorce lawyer unless you thought about it. Still kicking myself as to why I didn't see it. Oh well live and learn.
I am feeling the exact same way. I think my wife had been planning her move for over 5 years (just stacking $$$ until she could bounce and then hit me up for child support and spousal support)
18yrs 3 kids and she sent me a text on a Friday afternoon saying she was filing. Found out through phone records she had contacted an attorney at least 3 months prior to telling me. Total blindside. Do not trust these women fellas.
This is definitely a sign from Heaven given my current situation with my wife who has a green card we have a 2 year old daughter together. She took advantage of the 2020 pandemic and brought her son and daughter from her previous marriage this is when everything started changing plus a year after she started doing many things behind my back, for example: she got a house, a vehicle and some loans without my knowledge or consent while also keeping secrets.
There are a TON of Rules. I agree with ALL of them, BUT It makes me realize how much I should think about and should have. For me Rule #11 doesnt apply. I'll NEVER re-marry
Personally iam going through it right now . But haw amazing is this just hear me out , 1 - If you buy a fone ,the sales man will go through and read your contracts . 2-if you buy a house you will get a mortgage contract or loan then sales man will go through the contract with you . 3- You divorce you will get lawyers/judge to let you know the out come, But when you get married no one gives you any help or advice about the contract your about to sign, !!?

He is right about the keeping your mouth shut part. You never know when you are being recorded. I'm thinking about divorce, all I really care about is my kids. One and done for me if this one ends. For all of you out there, don't do it to begin with! My kids will absolutely be shown not to be concerned with marriage, and before that, the prom, etc. I wasted my time going to two of those back in the day
In hindsight I wish I had been focused on experiences n memories not getting serious ending this serious relationship when the conversation of kids n marriage came up. I feel like the child laws plus the marriage laws the last 50 years have been for destroying the husband's n giving all the husband's stuff to the female. My ex quit to make 4 times what I did traveling I should've filed while she was mia narcissistic instead I tried to make it work. Live life without women instead for friends n family n memories
My wife cheated and left me with 4 young kids. The divorce cost me €120,000. Marriage used to be something good years ago but it's just a huge con job now if you are a man.
My wife left by persuasion of her family, tried to get her custody that failed miserably. Lucky for me they were gunning for child support, they will get it but in reverse. Now, I need a plan to make the divorce official. And to move on with my kids properly. Karma will catch up with them, I know it..
Getting married is fine, but realizing it is a contract that if broken is controlled ENTIRELY by your state is vital. Contracts should never be indefinite - marriage contracts should be renewed annually as to what each participant should receive should the contract be voided. It is absolutely ridiculous.
After nineteen years of marriage and going through divorce,. One day she wakes up and leave, she takes you kids, your house, your hard earned income and your pension. The only woman I trust is my mama. Period. No wonder why men don’t want to get married.
here is the best advice: dont marry, just be together with her and stay with her, but dont marry her. i mean you can stay with her until you die but you dont need to marry her.
Even without the issue of finances divorces are tough. I talk about this on my own channel as I share my experiences going through my own divorce. Life can really suck sometimes.
I kept a fair share of the assets and pay no alimony to my ex wife. We had no kids so good there. Getting divorced was still the worst experience of my life.
@@JB-kx9bx I've heard this sentiment from so many others as well. Some were married for a year, others for 20+ years. Either way it's a terrible experience for us all. Thanks for sharing brother.
I just want to live in a house where I’m not cleaning all the time ! My spouse started an animal rescue and it’s forced on me, cleaning behind animals , multiple in home and I’m sick of it… he asks me about it as if he’s asking permission , I say no and yet he brings another animal in the house …. If I help out with anything , it becomes “my job” …. I’m over it. All his friends see it…. They look at me like , how do you put up with this? I feel like such a coward , have put up with “I make all the money ,so I can do what I want with our home I pay “the majority “ of the bills …. I pay 20% of household bills. I’m listening to this to get another perspective. I don’t argue because when things get heated I have no where to go… my family has all deceased…. I’m at my wits end … since I want to leave I don’t want to have alimony or think it’s fair because I would be the one leaving … yet I don’t make quite enough to pay for solo living , not yet. So for now I’m stuck.

If you want to get out of a marriage, simply tell her you're being made redundant in the next quarter & see her run for the hills. That'll tell you all you need to know about your "wife" & marriage. You can split what you already have but keep the job you're NOT losing. Coincide the timing of your firing with a 2 week holiday, that way you'll appear to have free time being seen around the neighbourhood, whilst looking for other work. Women wear make-up to exist with illusion every second of her life, so why cant men have their own illusion.
The higher value man you are the higher value Target you are. You are absolutely right broke guys come out better in divorce because there are no assets to divide. I know one guy he's got three kids and he pays exactly $35 a week in child support.
@@MichaelBrown-zp1sf that’s why you never tell people what you have. Also, from time to time, ask to borrow money from people. Gives the illusion that you are broke

These are solid tips especially before you actually get to court. I found that once you get to court and you are fighting for child custody... Judges usually favor the mother And prefer the father to be a child support atm machine. If you want any intelligent thought in that courtroom about the future of your children... You have to bring in that intelligent thought yourself. Do not assume the judge can create intelligent solutions for you and your children.

About the significance of letting go: take the age you will probably live for and subtract your current age. Now times 12. That is the number of months left in your viable life. Seeing the number of months you have left is sobering and focuses the mind. Everything in your past that troubled you is now forgotten and forward is your only interest.
This is excellent advice. I rebounded and married a gal after three years of dating. There were signs of it not working out but I wanted to fix everything and be her Superman. Here I am 9 years later and she wants a divorce. I don’t want it, but she is set so I’m going to take this advice and be the first to file Monday morning. Ugh
Our first year of marriage was pretty contentious as we both were learning to live with one another. She packed a bag and went home to her mother a number of times declaring she could not live with me. Her mother, bless her heart, would not let her in the door. She told her daughter 'You've made your choice, now you need to return and work it out with him.' And by & by we did. That was 49years ago & we are still together. !
#2 is difficult if you are low income during COVID. If you are receiving free legal aid (i.e., consultation, not representation) and are the respondent, and your petitioning spouse has resources and a paid attorney, you are likely going to be responding to a high number of disgraceful and scurrilous allegations, much like you would see in a SLAPP suit. Don’t let the allegations overwhelm your emotions. Make an ordered list of these allegations, with bullet points of your side, then gather evidence to disprove them. You might start to see that these allegations are more quantity, rather than quality. I struggled with this, when I was painted as a volatile, impulsive, brain-damaged, mentally-ill, child-neglecting, angry-man; however, I knew different, and so did others. I still remained open to the fact that I may fall short in some areas, and even have blind spots, and began to work on those areas with a therapist. If you can show the court that you are open to taking a look at the bad behaviors your spouse accuses you of exhibiting, and are proactive about addressing them, then you have shown that you are human, that you care about your spouses concerns, even if they are exaggerated or untrue. My wife never once said to me that I was any of those things I listed in the beginning of this paragraph until I read about it in her declarations. The cognitive dissonance I felt from that turned me into an emotional puddle of sad on the one hand, and then opposite of that on the other. Don’t try to talk to her about any of those feelings, even if you are trying to demonstrate to her positive changes, because they will just be used against you.
That's exactly my situation Today...she has painted me as a ranting dangerous lunitic.. it's kinda funny buy also scary that they might just take her side ...they already arrested me when I only tried getting away from her physically attacking me ...I really don't want to end up losing my small business and mini farm over this. Praying and ask that if ya'll pray to add me in yours. Have a wonderful day.
What about, if you all move overseas as a family (military service), and then due to COVID she asks for her and the kids to move back stateside temporarily; but then after six months she files for divorce? Currently in that situation. How does that affect your house and assets? I am from WA.

Depending on the state you are in, if you are living together and sharing bills, she may still be able to claim that you are common law married and take over half of everything you own. Be careful.
A friends wife lied about his sons paternity for 17 years and even with evidence she is still getting everything she asked for because she clames to be homeless. Nothing helps!!! And layers are making thousands
Yeah, I can't afford a lawyer and yet she has one somehow and is asking I pay all that and more...after I pay 99% of the bills and her entire paycheck would just go to her...yet of course she claims I chose to pay the bills to be controlling...hahaha...Yeah...I was sooo controlling I would clean the kitchen instead of telling her to do it...or anything else. Ugh.. this is gonna be rough.
NEVER. EVER, EVER get married!!!!! The state has total control of your life if things go south. a) The state will tell you where you can live ( or rather where you can not live) b) The state will tell you what you can and mostly can not have of your own property c) The state will tell you if , how, and when you can see your children d) The state will tell you how much money from your paycheck belongs to her e) The state will tell you if you can have certain people in your life f) Anything else the state deems appropriate to make your life miserable g) The state will throw your ASS in JAIL if you break any of their rules. NEVER. EVER, EVER get married!!!!!
Just happened to me last weekend...she was being combative and I was trying to escape....I went to jail and can't go to my home which I work out of and have farm animals to tend to....asked about tending to animals (at least) and was told "assume she will take care of it"...when in reality I would do all the outside chores and 90%of inside choirs...including dishes etc. Definitely Not a fair situation.
Sooooo glad i got a prenup. Only thing he got besides his own personal property was the car I bought for his use. I don’t agree with who filing first is having the upper hand- bottom line it come down to the rule for spousal and child supports. Be level head states what you want!! Remember anytime there a third party involved it harder to STOP so think twice before filing a divorce. It will cause lots of money to yourself even yourself unable to stop it due to the attorney bills up to the eyeballs. The attorney always win and everyone else lost. Children suffer the most!!
Wonderful video, it was a privilege to get so much relevant and pertinent information. It made me re-evaluate several aspects of how I thought about my marriage difficulties! Thank you so much for posting this video.
There is too much miscarriage of justice for the men in divorce cases. It is destroying the credibility of the courts. If a man divorces and moves on, in most cases the woman should have no say what successes a man enjoys after that. Women initiate the divorce the vast majority of the time. They are the ones breaking the bond. They shouldn't be allowed after the fact to hound him for the rest of his life.
People Change… One day you wake up from what you think is a awesome 11 year marriage with 2 beautiful kids… You think you have the life but next time your spouse has flipped a random switch and has filed papers… My advice for anyone still married is don’t get comfortable with where you are in the relationship and always keep it fresh in a sense or else you will end up in my same boots trying to gtfo!
Rule #4 file first: this makes you the Applicant the Court THANKS you for bringing in the case to the system so all involved can make big bucks. In the last year of my case I became the Applicant and won every time so the Ex was to pay the costs. How strange this works.
Rule 1: If you have half a brain, forget marrying anybody, regardless of gender. This advice applies 100% for men, not for women, who generally make out pretty well and so they still have interest in getting married.
Divorce is tough enough as it is, but when you start talking about splitting finances, it gets even more complicated
Rule 1: Unless the laws and the way the courts treat men change, do not get married. Rule #2: If you don't buy Rule #1, have a sit-down Q&A lunch with a single, divorced man before you make the worst mistake of your life.

Great video, A month ago, my five-year relationship came to an end. I really can't stop thinking about the love of my life, who made the decision to leave me. I've done everything in my power to win him back, but it's all in vain, and I can't imagine my life with anyone else. Sounds like not getting married is the best option
Our first year of marriage was pretty contentious as we both were learning to live with one another. She packed a bag
and went home to her mother a number of times declaring she could not live with me. Her mother, bless her heart,
would not let her in the door. She told her daughter 'You've made your choice, now you need to return and work it
out with him.' And by & by we did. That was 49years ago & we are still together.
!
Thank you for the good sound advice. You seem to be really be on point.
I like how one of the rules is “no chit chat, were not here to be your friend” really speaks to how lonely these people have been for so long lol 😂
That’s exactly what my husband did to me
That's exactly my situation Today...she has painted me as a ranting dangerous lunitic.. it's kinda funny buy also scary that they might just take her side ...they already arrested me when I only tried getting away from her physically attacking me ...I really don't want to end up losing my small business and mini farm over this.

The word permanent is spelled wrong in divorce rule 5. Thank you for the tidbits of information though.
Excellent rules! Thank you!!🙏
I need help in getting electronic evidence
I really wish someone can help with a recommendation that's legit because i got scamme by recommendation on the comments.
Gentlemen: Never. Get. Married.
No, it doesn’t work that way, let her keep it fresh if she wants too.
hello how are you doing today😊
Rule #4 file first: this makes you the Applicant the Court THANKS you for bringing in the case to the system so all involved can make big bucks. In the last year of my case I became the Applicant and won every time so the Ex was to pay the costs. How strange this works.
How does this work if she is facing criminal felony charges?
Thank you for this advice, I needed to hear this.
hello James how are you doing today😊
Rule 1: If you have half a brain, forget marrying anybody, regardless of gender. This advice applies 100% for men, not for women, who generally make out pretty well and so they still have interest in getting married.
I hate to have divorce in my life but I get it in my life
