    Divorce is tough enough as it is, but when you start talking about splitting finances, it gets even more complicated

    • @Robby767
      @Robby767 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I hear you. Especially for men, it can feel like you're losing half of everything you worked so hard for. And it’s not just about the house or cars, but also retirement accounts, investments, and even future earnings

    • @Andres_853
      @Andres_853 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, I didn’t think about that before. I’ve got a decent portfolio built up over the years, but with divorce looming, I’m starting to realize how fragile it is. If I don’t handle this right, I could end up losing more than I need to

    • @V.stones
      @V.stones หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly. It’s not just about who gets what, but how to split it without sinking your financial future. I mean, dividing up investments or a 401(k) is tricky. You can't just liquidate everything without serious consequences.

    • @mariadrukker2557
      @mariadrukker2557 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not to mention the taxes. If you’re not careful, you could end up with a hefty bill from the IRS. A friend of mine went through a divorce, and his lack of planning cost him way more than it should have.

      That’s why it’s important to get someone to help you with this. I’ve been talking to Joseph Nick Cahill, a CFP, about how to manage my portfolio through all of this. He’s helped me figure out the best way to divide assets without taking a huge financial hit.

    Rule 1: Unless the laws and the way the courts treat men change, do not get married. Rule #2: If you don't buy Rule #1, have a sit-down Q&A lunch with a single, divorced man before you make the worst mistake of your life.

My spouse started an animal rescue and it’s forced on me, cleaning behind animals , multiple in home and I’m sick of it… he asks me about it as if he’s asking permission , I say no and yet he brings another animal in the house …. If I help out with anything , it becomes “my job” …. I’m over it.
    All his friends see it…. They look at me like , how do you put up with this?
    I feel like such a coward , have put up with “I make all the money ,so I can do what I want with our home I pay “the majority “ of the bills …. I pay 20% of household bills.
    I’m listening to this to get another perspective.
    I don’t argue because when things get heated I have no where to go… my family has all deceased…. I’m at my wits end … since I want to leave I don’t want to have alimony or think it’s fair because I would be the one leaving … yet I don’t make quite enough to pay for solo living , not yet. So for now I’m stuck.

    If you want to get out of a marriage, simply tell her you're being made redundant in the next quarter & see her run for the hills. That'll tell you all you need to know about your "wife" & marriage. You can split what you already have but keep the job you're NOT losing. Coincide the timing of your firing with a 2 week holiday, that way you'll appear to have free time being seen around the neighbourhood, whilst looking for other work. Women wear make-up to exist with illusion every second of her life, so why cant men have their own illusion.

    #2 is difficult if you are low income during COVID. If you are receiving free legal aid (i.e., consultation, not representation) and are the respondent, and your petitioning spouse has resources and a paid attorney, you are likely going to be responding to a high number of disgraceful and scurrilous allegations, much like you would see in a SLAPP suit. Don’t let the allegations overwhelm your emotions. Make an ordered list of these allegations, with bullet points of your side, then gather evidence to disprove them. You might start to see that these allegations are more quantity, rather than quality.
    I struggled with this, when I was painted as a volatile, impulsive, brain-damaged, mentally-ill, child-neglecting, angry-man; however, I knew different, and so did others. I still remained open to the fact that I may fall short in some areas, and even have blind spots, and began to work on those areas with a therapist. If you can show the court that you are open to taking a look at the bad behaviors your spouse accuses you of exhibiting, and are proactive about addressing them, then you have shown that you are human, that you care about your spouses concerns, even if they are exaggerated or untrue. My wife never once said to me that I was any of those things I listed in the beginning of this paragraph until I read about it in her declarations. The cognitive dissonance I felt from that turned me into an emotional puddle of sad on the one hand, and then opposite of that on the other. Don’t try to talk to her about any of those feelings, even if you are trying to demonstrate to her positive changes, because they will just be used against you.

    The state has total control of your life if things go south.
    a) The state will tell you where you can live ( or rather where you can not live)
    b) The state will tell you what you can and mostly can not have of your own property
    c) The state will tell you if , how, and when you can see your children
    d) The state will tell you how much money from your paycheck belongs to her
    e) The state will tell you if you can have certain people in your life
    f) Anything else the state deems appropriate to make your life miserable
    g) The state will throw your ASS in JAIL if you break any of their rules.
    NEVER. EVER, EVER get married!!!!!

      Just happened to me last weekend...she was being combative and I was trying to escape....I went to jail and can't go to my home which I work out of and have farm animals to tend to....asked about tending to animals (at least) and was told "assume she will take care of it"...when in reality I would do all the outside chores and 90%of inside choirs...including dishes etc. Definitely Not a fair situation.

    Sooooo glad i got a prenup. Only thing he got besides his own personal property was the car I bought for his use. (And all his retirement/checking/saving accounts, we never co-mingled funds, I didn't ask for a penny). No alimony, no child support. The house is mine because I bought it before we married, and it was completely paid off.

    I don’t agree with who filing first is having the upper hand- bottom line it come down to the rule for spousal and child supports. Be level head states what you want!!
    Remember anytime there a third party involved it harder to STOP so think twice before filing a divorce. It will cause lots of money to yourself even yourself unable to stop it due to the attorney bills up to the eyeballs. The attorney always win and everyone else lost. Children suffer the most!!

    There is too much miscarriage of justice for the men in divorce cases. It is destroying the credibility of the courts. If a man divorces and moves on, in most cases the woman should have no say what successes a man enjoys after that. Women initiate the divorce the vast majority of the time. They are the ones breaking the bond. They shouldn't be allowed after the fact to hound him for the rest of his life.

    People Change… One day you wake up from what you think is a awesome 11 year marriage with 2 beautiful kids… You think you have the life but next time your spouse has flipped a random switch and has filed papers… My advice for anyone still married is don’t get comfortable with where you are in the relationship and always keep it fresh in a sense or else you will end up in my same boots trying to gtfo!

    Rule #4 file first: this makes you the Applicant the Court THANKS you for bringing in the case to the system so all involved can make big bucks. In the last year of my case I became the Applicant and won every time so the Ex was to pay the costs. How strange this works.

    Rule 1: If you have half a brain, forget marrying anybody, regardless of gender. This advice applies 100% for men, not for women, who generally make out pretty well and so they still have interest in getting married.
