Great to see that it can be removed as a complete assembly without needing to remove inner and outer tie rods. Good to see the method of removing the passenger and then driver's side and rotating the pinion downward.
If your vehicle has VSC do not rotate the steering wheel with the rack disconnected, it may damage the clockspring. I had my battery disconnected and when I did it on my hilux, even resetting back to centre didn't fix it, techstream showed steering angle greater than 180 Degrees and wouldn't change even when moving steering. Expensive mistake be careful. Love the videos #Anthony
Why did u guys pause the video at 5:28 that was the important part of how to take out the steering rack as I can't take out mine it gets stuck especially with that oil return line. Please guide me how to turn it around so that I can take it out
Having trouble removing the bolts. They hit the motor before clearing the chassis rail. Am I missing something or do I need to lift the motor. 150 with KDDS
Hey mate, Can I ask the reason or symptoms why you guys replaced the rack, I have stiff steering, have watched and liked all your other vids on the vac pump and steering pump, great vids,l mate. I’m quite confident in doing any of them to resolve my issue but is there a way to diagnose so I don’t have to waste money on something I don’t need. Cause either of them are super bloody expensive. Oil in res seems to be at full mark. Cheers 🤙🏻
Few helpful tips here! I have to do the same in my 150, any idea if a n70 rack is the same? I have one here and hoping they end up the same when I put them side by side

Yes alot of DIYers will be lured into a weekend of misery. I was skepitical about " this is a bit fiddley" and then no video of 'fidley'. !!!! Im guessing that they , as I did, lifted the engine so that they could roll the new rack and pinion into place. Crap job if you follow this video.
