    Thanks for the vid! I found just tighening up the nut/cable at the handbrake lever several turns was all that was needed with mine :)

      Yeh nice that works but doesn’t last very long , the longer dog bones increase the time between adjustments heaps. Didn’t get around to the unichip. Life got in the way especially with a little one now 🤙🏽🍻

    When you lower the rear disc, is it only necessary to loosen the two caliper bolts?
    Thousand Thanks in advantage...

    • @bushandbeachaustralia
      @bushandbeachaustralia  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To lower the calliper yes. But to remove the disc you need to back off the handbrake via the star adjuster to allow the disk to slide off without damaging the handbrake shoe assembly. Thanks

    Hey mate. For offroading in Australia would you recommend
    a Prado 90 series diesel or a petrol lpg. Thanks man.

    • @bushandbeachaustralia
      @bushandbeachaustralia  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Abdullah, that’s a tough question! Some of the v6 petrol guys are getting huge kilometres out of their engines. I personally haven’t owned one. They have quite a bit more power then the diesel from what I hear. I have owned a 2.7l petrol one that was great. It had a timing chain that lasts the life of the engine. It’s slightly underpowered but still quite torquey.
      The 1kz-te diesel is a great engine that handles water crossings well being a diesel. They are susceptible to cracked heads though if the cooling systems aren’t maintained or you push the engine too hard for too long.
      The 90/95 series are great Offroad and surprisingly capable.
      A couple of other points of note are that the lower ball joints are prone to failure. These have to be replaced with genuine ones with the correct bolts torqued up correctly. They need replacing at the first sign of vertical play in the joint. Another issue with them can be the plastic flares coming off when 4wdriving. I don’t like my flares as they are rubbing through the paint where they attach to the body.
      My personal pick would be an rv model (no flares) with the 1kz te diesel. For off-roading I like the diesel.
      Any other questions bud??
      This is my Instagram where I have recently posted some photos of my old rv (no flares model) 2.7l petrol if you want to see what it looks like.

    How is it holding on hills since that adjustment?

    • @bushandbeachaustralia
      @bushandbeachaustralia  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mick,
      I literally put them in today but it feels 1000 times better. Yes change your shoes at the same time if they need it. Bit of a prick of a job but I’ve got it sussed now if you need help when you tackle it. I’d recommend changing the dog bones just off of the way the handbrake lever feels now. I can give you a better review in a couple of weeks if you’d like. Cheers bud 🍻

      Cooling system and injectors need to be replaced/maintained mate. Otherwise you can have head cracking issues. I love mine 225000 kms 18psi boost towing a camper fully loaded at 4.1ton all up. So far so good.The v6 petrol would be a cheaper option and are bloody reliable....
