Hey - thanks for this. How did it work out? Rats wrecked my pentair and I just got a new one, so I'm installing rat proofing.
I was lucky the rodents didn't chew my wires when I found the mess. No problem. No signs of rodents around the water heater. Good luck with your new water heater.
