That’s pretty cool looking. That bar with the red lettering will definitely look great! I’ve been slowly working on my first Homelite, an XL-12 that a friend of mine gave me. I replaced the spark plug and the o-ring for the bar oil cap and gave it a really good general cleaning. The fuel line definitely has to be replaced as the original was actually crumbling. I’m confident it’ll be running again soon. Hopefully in a couple weeks. My friend turned up his nose at me yesterday when I told him I was gonna have a Homelite running soon. He asked, “Why would you want one of those plastic Home Depot saws?” I told him this version of Homelite wasn’t like the versions he was used to seeing. As soon as it’s running, I’ll be taking it to his house to let him see it
Really glad you finally got a XL-701AM for your collection, We both got blue Terry saws in the mail yesterday, cool. The handle was blue metal flake. It might be easier and cheaper to paint the handle support bracket than to find one in the right color. Glad to see I'm not the only one that has had brand new cork tank gaskets leak. BTW, Homelite US supposedly made a XL-700AM as well, never seen one
Definitely not the original handle, that one looks to be off of a late Homelite XL Automatic. Had to put my XL701AM down for a bit that I was working on as I am pretty sure she needs the points cleaned and new crank seals. I haven't the proper tools for that, yet, but she will see wood again!
😊😊 it's not uncommon 2 see some chainsaws darker than other 1S they used a different shade of paint they can be darker or lighter in color and the idle after U adjusted it was 2 low it should still run on its own and the chain shouldn't move a bit it shouldn't move all the time 😮😮 use another gas cap I would try a O rings see if that will help any 😊😊 OMG 12 2O 2O24
A good saw saw for sure , which I have had and shipped a few. Good to see and look forward to future videos on this saw.
I miss it, send it back lol. The oring on the fuel cap is new by the way. Glad you like it and I make sure I over package.
Have a very Merry Christmas Leon to you and your family. I have learned so much from your videos thank you.
Very nice!
