Pitou's aura didnt do anything to Netero and Zeno. They were shocked that Meruem was actually caring for another being, a human at that..They expected a blood thirsty monster ready to fight when they invaded. The entire situation just wasnt what they expected, especially Komougi being there.
Yup and just to add, they let their guard down and the fact that the king walked past them without their noticing means they could’ve died then and there. That’s what the chinese / japanese character that appears in the scene means - death.
The significance of Meruem walking in between them is that they are supposed to be the old Veterans yet they completely let their guard down and allowed Mereum to casually stroll near them. They were shook because if he wanted to he could have popped their heads off but didn't care to do so which shook them even more.

So they decided to wait and while waiting they eased up on their defense and could have died if the King attacked in that moment.
When Xeno said that this isn't what he was lead to expect, it means that he didn't expect to find an innocent human in the palace grounds. Because Xeno is a killer but he has pride of the fact that he never took the life of someone that it wasn't his target. Maybe he would have invaded the palace in a different way if he knew normal humans where in the castle and not use dragon dive.

Episode 112 is peak anime direction, everything is so well done, the pacing, the narrator, the music and cinematography is at the highest point, I think is one of the best episodes ever made. Explaining why Pitou cries after the King tell her to heal Komugi, is because instead of an order, he give her his trust "I'm counting on you", a phrase she will never expect from the King, or in better words, she feels she didn't do anything to deserve such treatment from him. And after all of that you have Meruem and Komugi, which give even more development and is so well done that the narrator doesn't detail too much on the King's emotions, but you sure can feel it and understand it perfectly, 112 is just too good.
I can't believe I just realized, but Shoot's ability is using a cage to trap his opponents because Shoot feels like he's trapped in a cage, since, if you remember, an emotional connection is how people develope their ability. Even Hisoka's bungee gum is from him constantly chewing gum as a child, and Meleoron can only use that ability because he's used to going invisible. Nen is awesome that way.
I don't think I've ever thought you guys are a "fights only" group of dudes. Yes, they said hxh lacking character depth when literally ignoring every character related plot every time and only wanted to see the fight scene 😢 don’t get me wrong i love their reaction but they keep retconning their own statements
The reason the high points are so HIGH in HxH is because of the slower pacing that builds more tension and character building. People may not like it, but it's actually nessaray in almost every case in any kind of story telling. The more invested you are, the more you want to SEE/READ/HEAR a certain moment you know is coming, the bigger the payoff, especially if it's done correctly. (IMO HxH does it better than any Shonen out there).
We didn't get to see it in this reaction but that moment when Pitou cries.. is one of my fav moments from this arc (and there seems to be a lot of that) it's just soo good. The King for once is not exactly giving an order or a command but he is more of requesting Pitou. Pitou realises just how much Komugi means to Meruem and the fact that he is trusting Pitou to save Komugi's life, it touches her so much so she is moved to tears. Togashi does such a good job at humanising these characters, these "monsters". Ntm the score that plays during the scene is just chef's kiss 🤌 The Narrator says one of his best lines as well in this scene, about how these supposed inhuman creature is depicting acts of genuine kindness & love. And i believe you guys will come to appreciate the same as well.

Thanks to the narrator we can understand what is happening 😂 I've watched the anime multiple times and I've read the manga too, but I can never forget the chill that I got from the first time I encounter this whole fight whenever I see it again. Thanks for the update! It's more fun to watch with you guys.

Guys go in with no expectations because HxH is unlike other battle anime. It's not gonna have your typical 1 v 1 fights that you expect. There may not even be the kind of fights that you were used to from the other arcs. This arc really flips the script on the commonly expected battle troupes.
The translation of shoot covering his eye is different in the one I watched. It’s that he felt stronger the more cornered he felt. I think cornered makes more sense than a deteriorating situation.
I completely understand the anxiety because of the build up, I felt the same when I was watching it for the first time too. But that being said, I wish I could watch it for the first time again, the exact way it is. Trust Togashi sensei's process! Do you guys plan on reacting to Frieren? It's a very different type of shonen, I think Carter will enjoy it a lot.
The strategy of throwing Youpi inside Knov's mansion wouldn't work because Knuckle needs to be at a certain distance of APR for it to work, and the mansion is a realm in another dimension so that breaks his Nen abilities
Another genius moment from H x H, Pitou casually breaks the sounds barrier, a feat that Netero took decades to learn. Casually showing how strong the royal guards are.
@@faristont4561 I guess you just type out of your ass, I can't find anything wrong with what I wrote. You must've never seen a jet break the sound barrier before?
@@montube_x Look up the manga and other translations. He says you owe me one. I knew I wasn’t going crazy lol. And as for the reason it’s because killua had just jeopardized ikaglos cover.
This is really a suicide mission for all of them 😢. Their main goal is just to isolate the king from the royal guards, then 1v1 w/ Netero. They might have accepted their fate going into this mission mainly for humanity. However Gon's mind right now is like Kite Kite Kite Kite Kite 😂
This is how nen restrictions are shown to work in HxH. Its been mentioned before multiple times in the comments but restrictions arent some type of rare thing that they use for end all be all powerups, there are smaller restrictions that are shown frequently. For example, Shoot covering his eye is a restriction that he placed on himself without knowing and that made him stronger as you will see in the next few episodes.
I don't think you guys need to say anything. The arc is paced slow but it just works. Theres so many different types of arcs that this is just one of them. Not everyone likes the arc but for me its peak storytelling. Its just subjective
Wait, after watching this show multiple times I JUST realized something. Picking Knuckle for Meleorons power was incredibly stupid. Sure, he can get one hit in and attach APR, but after that Meleoron should switch to Shoot. Shoot can lock parts of his enemies away and eventually entirely lock them away when he locked enough of them up, like how he took Killuas eye and how he locked Kite in his cage. So if Meleoron made him invisible, his flying hands may turn invisible too, thus enabling him to easily lock Youpi away in a matter of a minute or so. Why did I never realize that before? 🤔 Maybe the hands won't count since they are seperated from his body, but Shoot only has to touch, not do damage to deliver aura like with APR, so Shoot secretly taking touches at Youpi to lock him away bit by bit still seems like a much better strategy either way.
shoot has to do a certain amout of damage to use his power, not just touching. making shoot the one to be invisible would make knuckle absolutely useless in the fight + meleoron and shoot are way too suspicious and cautious to actually be able to effectively work together. since shoot has to continously hit his target instead of just hitting them once like knuckle can, knuckle is more compatible with meleoron PLUS apr also works as a tracker so if meleoron needed air and when they came back youpi was gone, they would know exactly where he is. apr is also invisible when perfect plan is on so the enemy wouldn't immediately be alerted versus shoot's ability being kinda useless if it's invisible because the enemy wouldn't have any drawbacks unless meleoron undoes perfect plan.
@@thatweirdodaniel You're factually wrong, when Shoot steals one eye from Youpi, he barely places his palm on there, deals zero damage and immediately flies away to dodge again. He literally just needs to touch. Rewatch that scene.
At some time after a few more Episodes, y'all should watch the TH-cam video of "Hunter x Hunter Chimera Ant Invasion Everything At Once," its so cool to see how different things were occurring at the same time.
Togashi was painting the arc that’s why there are parts that might feel unnecessary for some viewers. Every stroke a masterpiece though. Just in case you guys didn’t realize, the reason why Pitou had tears in her eyes was because of the line by the Narrator, “the king’s aura was so unmasked, his state of mind was plain to read”… this meant that Pitou was feeling what the king was feeling. The king was deeply saddened by what happened to Komugi, sad enough to bring tears to Pitou’s eyes.
Pouf is annoying af, but a great character and antagonist! I'd say he's the most complex character of the Royal guards and the chimera ant arc is better because of him.
not sure if you guys eventually realized this but zeno and netero weren’t stunned by pitous En, they were stunned because of how the king, who they had previously seen as inhumane and ruthless, presented a very humane display of care for another innocent human being. the narrator’s comment about this not being what zeno signed up for is basically saying he was fully prepared to kill the ants because they were seen as just animals who kill with no regard-he never intended to hurt an innocent girl. similarly, netero’s reaction is because he believed he’d be fighting something nonhuman and meruem’s actions in that scene completely contradict that view. sorry i ranted a little lol just wanted to let u guys know cause it seems u completely misunderstood that scene!!! love u guys and love the videos!!!! ❤❤
Pouf, also, IS obnoxious. But he's also fascinating. He is the ant with the most inner turmoil and the one whose human individuality is biting him the most in the backside. He's the closest a royal guard can come to being actually subordinate and going rogue. His story is actually hugely important. He's too emotional- that's his biggest flaw, and it makes him over the top and obnoxious too.
Naruto’s Studio add the extra flashbacks to draw out the episodes so they didn’t catch up to the manga to quick and then be forced to release more filler
Which is the same issue with non seasonal anime back then including hxh. even worse, it's the long hiatus problem. not just trying not to catch up but the feeling of not knowing when togashi gonna stop again. but madhouse didn't give any excuse to make bunch of useless fillers. hxh 2011 could easily be like naruto, bleach, etc.
@@faristont4561 they didn’t need to make filler because ant arc was already about to end when the show started airing they stopped the show because of the lack of content
@@faristont4561 bleach and naruto both started airing about 2 years after the manga started so eventually the anime would catch up and they still wanted to use their TV slot so they made filler until the manga got far enough ahead
Morel is a natural manipulator, but remember that you can actually use more types of nen other than your innate type, and keep in mind that he's a nen master. If you train enough you should actually be able to master every nen type (to some degree at least), except specialization. Morel manipulates when he shapes and gives orders to the smoke soldiers. It's very convenient to use smoke, bc it's very light and you can shape it into basically anything. He uses emission when he uses his smokes shapes too, bc he can move them very far away from him, without them losing strength, shape or movement. He uses enhancement to give the smoke shapes the right amount of hardness to be able to hit hard and resist some attacks, but enhancement is kinda far from his innate nen type, so it isn't that strong, besides, he almost always deploy multiple smoke soldiers, so I gess the strength gets fractionated depending on the number of smoke soldiers he's using. He uses transmutation when he gives color and texture to the smoke, for disguise and camouflage, just like Hisoka. Also, Morel has a lot of battle IQ, he's very cool-headed, he has a LOT of physical strenght, he's fast, has very good reflexes (good enough to get kinda accostumed to Cheetu's speed) and he can endure using all the nen techniques I previously mentioned while running, jumping and fighting for DAYS without deactivating them and without almost any rest... so when you take all those things into consideration, you begin to understand how f*cking powerful Morel is and why he is so respected as a Hunter.
2:06 i completely agree with what ur saying... this is the problem with most of the anime that have insane amount of episodes but i also think that if they dont yap from time to time we would not be able to get the full context of what has happened so i think this yapping is somewhat necessary
we have to thank tiktok brainrot for that shit, some human basic shit like talking can be reduced to "yapping" in 30 years there is gonna be a similar term to mock the act of loving your family or some shit im sure.@@SolidSnake240
I don't blame you for finding the pacing slow, it is very slow in comparison with previus arcs. Idk why, but Togashi decided that for this arc he was gonna use a ton lot of exposition, and I agree that in some parts is kinda necessary (not entirely, bc there's always a way of explaining things without relying on over exposition, but I understand that it is hard to achieve). There are episodes in which most time is spent on the narrator explaining what the characters are doing, what they're feeling, thinking and planning, but in real time, just a few minutes has passed, so it feels like the show is in slow motion all the time. A lot of those times, you can easily understand what is happening without the need of the narrator, but there's him, telling you a characters is surprised when you can clearly see it. But tbf, I prefer this over what Naruto or One piece does their endless filler, flashbacks and overall nonsense and stupidity (I'm talking mostly about their anime adaptations, the mangas of Naruto and One piece are really good).
@@_graiderz2462 Yeah, I thought about that too. But if that's the case, I think he shouldn't underestimate his fans intelligence. As I said before, I agree with him that some parts kinda need an explanation, but there's always a way of integrating an explanation in an organic way into the story, and I'm sure he knows how to do it, he's a very intelligent man after all, so idk why the sudden change. Maybe Shonen jump pushed him to do it this way bc they thought the show was becoming too complicated for kids, idk.
Saying the chimera ant arc is dragged out at times is 100% fair. And this is coming from someone who thinks this arc is peak fiction. Just stick with it and trust the process.
Hunters best when you can binge with friends. HxH has some of the most snobby fans. All high level Nen-users kinda max out their potential in every category to a degree. Morel's 2nd best would be emission. He makes the same nen orbs Silva and Razor do to power his puppets.
Pouf is annoying as hell, that's a fact no matter how much I love this show. But annoying doesn't mean bad, his emotional conflict, his insanity and his complexes are incredibly well written. He's supposed to be unhinged. And in contrast to the other guards, he has an image of what Meruem should be that he wants to force upon him. He's an annoying little bug, but he's one of the best written characters this arc nonetheless.
He's easily the MVP of this part of chimera arc. by far the most busy and engaging character. it's like watching an annoying heel character that is so good at what he does, you can't help to acknowledge his greatness. you're not supposed to like him but will respect him
Can you guys overlay each of your names, like above your heads maybe? 😅 Also, maybe put an indicator* on the names to signify who has seen the anime before? 😬

This arc is just peak cinema.
The next episodes will be soooo good
The diague with Ikalgo was a mistranslation, he was meant to say 'you owe me one'.
Another genius moment from H x H, Pitou casually breaks the sounds barrier, a feat that Netero took decades to learn. Casually showing how strong the royal guards are.
You're not the brightest in science aren't you. lol
@@faristont4561 explain? Guess I'm not smart enough to follow. I was talking about when Pitou broke the sound barrier coming to the King's aid.
@@faristont4561 I guess you just type out of your ass, I can't find anything wrong with what I wrote. You must've never seen a jet break the sound barrier before?
@@faristont4561 Guess you realized you're an idiot. LOL
As far as enhancers go, at this point Uvogin is the peak of what an enhancer can achieve
Can't wait to see their reaction to that one episode with the king, pouf and youpi...

I could have sworn ikaglo said “you owe me one” not I owe you one.
How could killua owe him one when he’s the one taking down the unprecedented ant troops for ikalgo
@@montube_x Look up the manga and other translations. He says you owe me one. I knew I wasn’t going crazy lol. And as for the reason it’s because killua had just jeopardized ikaglos cover.
we are COOKING rn
This is really a suicide mission for all of them 😢. Their main goal is just to isolate the king from the royal guards, then 1v1 w/ Netero.
They might have accepted their fate going into this mission mainly for humanity.
However Gon's mind right now is like Kite Kite Kite Kite Kite 😂
Shoots ability is so sick
Maybe the hands won't count since they are seperated from his body, but Shoot only has to touch, not do damage to deliver aura like with APR, so Shoot secretly taking touches at Youpi to lock him away bit by bit still seems like a much better strategy either way.
shoot has to do a certain amout of damage to use his power, not just touching. making shoot the one to be invisible would make knuckle absolutely useless in the fight + meleoron and shoot are way too suspicious and cautious to actually be able to effectively work together. since shoot has to continously hit his target instead of just hitting them once like knuckle can, knuckle is more compatible with meleoron PLUS apr also works as a tracker so if meleoron needed air and when they came back youpi was gone, they would know exactly where he is. apr is also invisible when perfect plan is on so the enemy wouldn't immediately be alerted versus shoot's ability being kinda useless if it's invisible because the enemy wouldn't have any drawbacks unless meleoron undoes perfect plan.
@@thatweirdodaniel
You're factually wrong, when Shoot steals one eye from Youpi, he barely places his palm on there, deals zero damage and immediately flies away to dodge again.
He literally just needs to touch. Rewatch that scene.
At some time after a few more Episodes, y'all should watch the TH-cam video of "Hunter x Hunter Chimera Ant Invasion Everything At Once," its so cool to see how different things were occurring at the same time.
Narrator: He didnt have any reason to cover his right eye except to look cool
Yess I was dreading another week long wait 😭 let’s go
hxh a gem between gems
Episode 116 is gonna be crazy for y’all
Togashi was painting the arc that’s why there are parts that might feel unnecessary for some viewers.
Pouf is an incredible character. His love for the king is so toxic but sincere and it just makes him so so interesting.
Moral is a transmuter because he turns his aura into smoke
netero pointing gon shes there i feel like netero know gon can take pitou
yoooo my guy with the jazz shirt whose name i forgot, i have the exact same shirt but i live in brasil that’s crazy dog
not sure if you guys eventually realized this but zeno and netero weren’t stunned by pitous En, they were stunned because of how the king, who they had previously seen as inhumane and ruthless, presented a very humane display of care for another innocent human being. the narrator’s comment about this not being what zeno signed up for is basically saying he was fully prepared to kill the ants because they were seen as just animals who kill with no regard-he never intended to hurt an innocent girl. similarly, netero’s reaction is because he believed he’d be fighting something nonhuman and meruem’s actions in that scene completely contradict that view. sorry i ranted a little lol just wanted to let u guys know cause it seems u completely misunderstood that scene!!! love u guys and love the videos!!!!
It wasn’t Pitou aura that scared Zeno and Netero.
11:45 Dark Continent
I don't think you guys are being negative. The pacing is off at times. For me it works completely but i understand if others don't. It is what it is.
That’s why he’s the MVP, that’s why he’s the GOAT, the GOATTT
Ain’t nothing wrong with critiquing these shows! That’s the whole point of a review!
2:06 i completely agree with what ur saying... this is the problem with most of the anime that have insane amount of episodes but i also think that if they dont yap from time to time we would not be able to get the full context of what has happened so i think this yapping is somewhat necessary
Im really starting to hate the term "yapping". Anything with story and dialogue is considered yapping now
we have to thank tiktok brainrot for that shit, some human basic shit like talking can be reduced to "yapping" in 30 years there is gonna be a similar term to mock the act of loving your family or some shit im sure.@@SolidSnake240
@@SolidSnake240 chillax bro..don't be so serious
Shoot is my favorite character
They froze nit because of pitou aura but because king was able to walk past two of the strongest nen user like it's normal
this is unrelated but i recommend mob physco 100, AJIN, Dorohedoro
It's pretty obvious the reason it's filled with text was because of togashi's condition getting bad ass time passes
@@_another_day Maybe, but it doesn't make it better just because he had a condition, and we don't know for sure if that was the reason
Togashi probably doesnt want the audience to misinterpreted what he trying to show.
The funniest part is that the anime added narration that wasn't in the manga for some reason. But I love the narrator.
Maybe Shonen jump pushed him to do it this way bc they thought the show was becoming too complicated for kids, idk.
the main part of HxH has just begun
Saying the chimera ant arc is dragged out at times is 100% fair. And this is coming from someone who thinks this arc is peak fiction. Just stick with it and trust the process.
I'm just waiting for FMAB
Hunters best when you can binge with friends. HxH has some of the most snobby fans. All high level Nen-users kinda max out their potential in every category to a degree. Morel's 2nd best would be emission. He makes the same nen orbs Silva and Razor do to power his puppets.
I literally can’t wait till THAT episode it will be a few weeks or a month.
" PITOUUUUUUUUUU "
next time check out « the wind rises » from studio ghibli it’s my favorite movie
He's easily the MVP of this part of chimera arc. by far the most busy and engaging character. it's like watching an annoying heel character that is so good at what he does, you can't help to acknowledge his greatness. you're not supposed to like him but will respect him
Completely agree, good as this arc is it’s definitely longer than it needs to be 😂
They aren’t enjoying as much as they thought they would.
The payoffs in this arc... I wish I could relive my first time seeing it all.
Will you guys be releasing FMAB later on once you're done with it?
let's watch jojo
Gon is scaring y'all in this episode? I can't wait what they'd say after a few more
Ep. 119 is where they got it from.
Can you guys overlay each of your names, like above your heads maybe? 😅 Also, maybe put an indicator* on the names to signify who has seen the anime before? 😬

After Hunter Hunter, please take a look at Haikyuu next!
Hired killers are humans too
Ngl, when i first watched the arc, it felt very dragged out and slow so i actually only enjoyed the fights.
However, when rewatching the series, it quickly became my favorite.
My first time watching this arc I almost gave up on the anime. On rewatches now I find it more tolerable but it's by far the worst arc of the show.
@@ozzyfanatic666lmao no it isn't, there is absolutely no shot anyone with a functioning brain could actually tell themselves this.
rewatching this make me happy and sad at the same time ( sad cuz we're close to the end)
