Before you spend money on a Level 2 charger, I found that Level 1 charger works better for us. The daily commute is about 18 miles, that drains the battery to 5 to 9%. Normally when my wife gets home at 8 pm, she plug it in and by the time she leaves at 7 am in the morning, the charge level is about 90%, this is a good charging habit to keep the battery healthy for long run. The point is charging the battery to 90% instead of full. For lithium batteries, charging to full and let it stay full put the battery in less stable condition than 50 to 90%.
Hi, great video 👍 and I don't want to disappoint anybody, but I need to tell our story about this car. We have our Wrangler Rubicon (2022) for about 26 months now. It’s my wife car. She is in love with this model and in Belgium you can only buy the hybrid model new. We live in Belgium, no rough terrain, just our street is muddy over 1 mile when it rains. So no off-road adventures done. It drives great, when it is not in the garage for repair. After 1.5 year (about 6.000miles) the aft RH brake caliper seized. (Again, never driven in very muddy conditions or rough terrain.) Around the same time, airco inoperative >> broken wire. Also, it rains inside on the driver and passenger side. Always wet under the floor mat when it is parked in the rain. Now after about 2 years (10,000 miles) the famous death wobble around 60 miles/hour (Again, never driven in very muddy conditions or rough terrain.) >> steering shock absorber replaced and checked alignment. (JEEP advice) And now since about 3 months the car shakes from left to right at stand still and makes a metal sound. It feels like it wants to shift gear, but doesn’t. It doesn’t shake the same every day, sometimes a bit less or more. In electric mode or engine running, park, rev, neutral or drive position, doesn’t matter. It seems to come from the gearbox. The car went to the dealer, and they changed the wire loop to the electric motor in the gearbox (recommended by JEEP) It didn’t fix it. The car stayed at the dealer for 4 weeks, awaiting a solution from JEEP. No result until now. We picked it up 2 days ago (they wanted their free rental car back). No problem driving it but shacking Steven is still with us. They await another solution from JEEP and are aiming for the gearbox (really?). So there will be a big chance that they need to replace the complete gearbox…to be continued… We are very disappointed as it is not a cheap car (around €70.000 here) and we already have issues as which make it look a 15-year-old car. (Again, never driven in very muddy conditions or rough terrain.) So far my advice is, look up (we didn’t) what issues u can expect on forums even if you buy a new one.
Just bought a 4xe because: 1. No gas only 4dr available 2. There is no benefit of the EV side. The 21 miles of EV range only equates to 1 gallon of gas, which is $3.49 right now. The charging station in our town is $3.40 per hour, and it will take 2 hours to fully charge 21 miles of range, WTF is the way to describe it. 3. The reasons for buying a 4xe is the power, it is quick, no question asked. The weight of battery pack at the back actually make the Jeep handles better than my 2018 JL v6. 4. The quiet of EV is priceless especially for a Jeep Wrangler which is normally slightly better than a lawnmower. 5. The acceleration, yes, for a giant brick, is impressive.
Brandon - Regarding your charging error. Your ground plug on the wall is upside down. That usually means that one of the outlet terminals is active when you flip a switch on a wall. That way you can plug in a lamp have it turn on and off by the wall switch instead of the switch on the lamp itself. I have found that the wall switch controlled outlet is the bottom one in my bedroom. Perhaps the bottom was not turned on so there was no power to it? When you plugged into the top one everything worked.
Do you know any current update for the 2021 Wrangler Sahara 4xe recall? As of 12/12/24, I can’t find anything about a resolve, related to the fire safety issue.
@@LilYeshuaJust don't buy a manual transmission.. there's an ongoing ever lasting Manual transmission fire risk recall that Jeep has been trying to fix for nearly 6 years.. I gave up after my 4th new clutch..
I am going to stick to level 1 charger. I really don’t care about using the EV part for daily commute, it is only equivalent to 1 gallon of gas. But I will charge it when going to have fun with it.
How comfortable is it?. I live in new york and it takes me over an hour to drive only 15 milles from work to home sometimes and hour and a half due to traffic. I think it makes sense because its a plug in hybrid but my concern is that i wont be comfortable at all.
The seat is pretty flat and firm but actually more comfortable than my Rogue was. I like that I can raise the seat up for a more natural angle. Only thing that would be tough in NY traffic is the stiffer gas pedal, the recharge mode is like engine braking which requires more gas pedal action because you don’t coast.
I commute under 21 miles to work everyday and charge every night. For that reason, it is worth it for me.

Couldn’t have said it better. Just picked one up new and other than the electric power it’s not economical in anyway
I believe the 21 mile range is based on a full charge which is equivalent to ~ 1/2 gallon of gas. A full charge for me when the battery is at
I purchased a 2024 Wrangler 4xe High Altitude on Friday and this video was very informative. Thank you for this
Glad to see you back!
Alot of good info. We just picked up a 2021 Sahara 4xE and our salesmen went through alot buy wasn't able to get this deep.
If they can increase the EV range to about 35 to 40, then it would be so much more interesting.

Great, thanks. I want one 😎

Great video. To clarify - have to hit “max regen” every time? That seems unnecessary- should be able to set it.
Is there a possibility to accidentally drive off with the charger cable still attached?
How were you able to use the rebate as a down payment?
Why in MA, we only have 8 years battery warranty?
FORM, kind of sucks with an otherwise good vehocle
Two door model please
4xe doesn't come with 2 doors
@@eca7773 don't want that. Want regular wrangler with two doors.

24:46 engine obviously
You convinced my wife that we need a 2xe but they're not available ... and may never be, in the UK !! WTF 🥵
720p video Brandon? :) Or is it still rendering at Google... 11 hours since upload?
Hmmm. Great question. Should be 1080
Every 5 k miles oil change os good
Make a 4xe Jeep truck model nd it will sell
yes, especially with double the battery capacity, ~35 kWh
Let everyone know they will need to buy a charger lol besides that it’s a awesome vehicle
I am pretty sure I saw this video one year ago.

Not bad. It’s a jeep though. Not a luxury seat.

WE LOVE BRANDON👍🏾👍🏾 I AM MUCH SMARTER NOW👍🏾👍🏾
3.6 only
I had 4 recalls on my Sahara 4xe. That tells me Jeep does not know how to build them currently. Maybe in a year of two but for now DON"T BUY!
Had mine 2 years….love it
How many of those recalls were software?
We've had 4 on our '15 JK, too. This is pretty standard for modern vehicles.
What year is yours?
im on 6 in my f150.. think maybe nobody knows how to build anything this close to post pandemic
