    I drove a stock '23 4xe around Olympic in Washington, up and down the mountains about 1000 miles and averaged 25.5 miles per gallon in hybrid. Never had a place to plug it in. Re-gen charging was all I had to utilize. On the Highway I was able to get 26.4mpg. The hybrid system on these are awesome!

    I have a 2024 Willy’s 4xe with 20,000 on it now with no issues except for a cracked windshield with gorilla glass lol after 2 months of debating Jeep they replaced it for free $1500 window lol and gave me a 3 year warranty for dents and upholstery, etc for my inconvenience and headaches I’m trying to get the window replaced and said jeep doesn’t treat their customers this way. It was the dealership that refused to replace the glass not jeep themselves. long story short we love jeep

      My 22 has gorilla glass and it finally cracked too about 10 months in. Our insurance replaces glass for free, but good to know Jeep came through and replaced it for you.

    My sister takes her 17 down real trails and does Jamborees and all that. If you use a Jeep for Jeep stuff; expect failures. She killed her 12 in the woods when her rear main seal went in the worst location on the trail. New one has ate diffs axles and everything else underneath it!

      Nice! Our 2022 model we still have for 10 more months and it’s been good except for an intermittent issue with the gas cap not opening with you hit the button. Sometimes it won’t work for a few days and then it works again. Hasn’t been annoying enough to take it to the dealer, but we’ll have it addressed at next oil change

    Wife had an unfortunate accident where her Wrangler Sport 4D inline 6 where it was totaled. She walked away without a scratch.
    Jumped into the EV Hybrid world with a 2024 Sahara 4XE. Live in North East Indiana.
    We installed a 2 hour Clipper Creek charger. 4 weeks in and we have been full electric and more than 1/2 tank of dealership gas remaining.
    We only received the $3640 for tax credit and put it down on a buy. Extended warranty is a must. So we are paying more monthly but love this Jeep much better than our old Sport.

      Yep that’s the hard part :( I ended up replacing with the gladiator cause it was a better deal at the time. But I’ve been hearing now that some states are offering like 15-17k off 4xe wranglers. That’s not the case here in Mi unfortunately but might be worth a drive

  • @santiagohills3997
    @santiagohills3997 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Our 2022 is at 34k miles. I’ve not been impressed with Jeep’s dealers but the vehicle has met expectations. It has had a couple minor warranty claims and some recalls, to where I’m considering the extended warranty. But with the electric side covered to 100k we’ll probably roll the dice. It’s not my old 4Runner, for better and worse.
    The warranty claims: front locker switch stuck in the “locked” position even when unlocked. TrailRecon had the same failure. The steering stabilizer got replaced due to death wobble. And a windshield replacement. Stuff you’d not need a dealer visit to fix in the later years.
    We intend to keep it around a while.

    • @PeakPerformanceEngineering
      @PeakPerformanceEngineering  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Those are awesome numbers. The shorter wheelbase and less weight probably helps. This one had 35s too which didn’t help. Also, I never had the Speedo updated so actual fuel economy probably around 6-8% higher than what the actual numbers showed on Jeep.

    MPGe is the electric mileage when it's in full electric mode. Has nothing to do with the MPG you can expect to get when it's in hybrid or full ICE modes. It's unfortunate that this is such a confusing # for folks who aren't used to what MPGe stands for. And it shouldn't come as a surprise that 49MPGe is on the very low end of MPGe for cars, it is a Jeep after all!

      I work for a semiconductor manufacturer selling into the automotive industry.
      But the reason we were able to get these was because they were pretty cheap early on. Both this 2021 and our 2022 have around $60k msrp and the lease was only $410/month with only first months payment due.
      However when I was now looking at 2024s a few months ago, the leases had skyrocketed to 700-800 month for same vehicle. This is why I ended up just buying a leftover 23 gladiator Mojave since they had nice discounts of around $14k off msrp.

    Maybe a dumb question but does it charge the battery at all if you don’t plug it in? I know it has regen braking but will it still have the acceleration and torque if you never charge it? I had a TJ I sold and we now have new Model Y. I’m hoping for a little bit of best worlds when I go shopping in August :)
    Thanks for the video.

    • @PeakPerformanceEngineering
      @PeakPerformanceEngineering  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes even when it goes to zero for battery, it will still actually be saving some electricity for the extra power boost when going full throttle.
      In my experience though here in Michigan, I have never seen the regenerative braking be enough to actually charge up the battery back to 1% or more.

    • @PeakPerformanceEngineering
      @PeakPerformanceEngineering  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh yeah, I think it’ll be engine off up to about 80 as long as your not commanding too much throttle. If you try to command throttle beyond a certain point it’ll engage the gas motor

    • @DiablotinCinema
      @DiablotinCinema หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Did you regear Jeep to put 35 inch tires on?

    • @PeakPerformanceEngineering
      @PeakPerformanceEngineering  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nope, it’s a rubicon so already had 4.10s. And being a 4xe it has a crap ton of torque, no need. Our other 4xe rubicon has 37s, no lift and no regearing.
      My gladiator Mojave also has 4.10s and 37s and plenty of power for driving around, but maybe if you wanted to tow with it, you might want to do the 4.88s or 5.13s.

  • @rippinross3238
    @rippinross3238 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Did you need to change anything else after putting 37’s on your jeep? I’m wanting 37’s but I heard you need to change gearing.

    • @PeakPerformanceEngineering
      @PeakPerformanceEngineering  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not with the 4xe it has plenty of power to push the 37s. Also this is a rubicon trunk so it already has 4.10s I believe from factory. Now if you had a sport that has the taller gears then yes you may find you need to regear to get the performance back.
      My 23 gladiator Mojave with stock 4.10s also rocks the same 37s and no issues with the stock 3.6 V6

      My numbers were probably a little lower than actual since I didn’t have a tazer to account for the 35s, maybe 5-7% off.
      But I’d say if you’re seeing 24, that’s still taking into account a lot of the all electric driving.
      Example being when I would drive to Chicago from Detroit and back for work which is 600ish miles round trip, it would drop right down to 18ish because at that point it’s basically a gas vehicle, your only doing 25 miles of the 600 on electric.
      I also drive 80mph usually which doesn’t help, but here in Detroit area 80mph is commonplace.
