    I agree with everything everyone said.
    I use Max Regen more as a convenience feature.
    On Highways it is definitely OFF, Mountains - ON, For coasting (also, Highways) - OFF.
    But, I do use it often to drive around the neighborhood and around town, because after a while you know how much it reacts to get the car to slow down.
    I think "Max Regen off" is probably more efficient and it seems to give me 1-3 KW when I am coasting, without me having to accelerate if misjudged.
    Great video.

    Thanks for the great video! As stated, Max Regen is nice for downhills, but it's also nice to push on exit ramps. I look at it as braking assist with benefits! Also, I like to use the electric mode for accelerating to highway speeds (gracefully) before going to gas-mode (e-save) for cruising. Puts less torque/wear on the engine. Your worse MPG is usually during acceleration. Of course, the aerodynamic of a Jeep do not help much @ 70MPH

    We have a cabin in the mountains. When driving down, max regen is a game changer in our 2024 Willys 4xe. We can go for about 37 miles down without touching the brake pedal unless there is a hiker or animal crossing.

      Yep, NOW that's where this REALLY comes onto play. Like I said in the video, mountains = YES :). I'm not saying it's not a useful option, but in daily traffic - it's not equally as useful.

      I just ordered my 2024 Willys 4xe (Tuscadero!) and this is one of the things that sold me during the test drive. I live in a mountainous area and there's a pretty steep hill that I drive often. Shout out to Alan at Northpoint Jeep in Derby VT for thoroughly explaining everything to me.

    As someone who lives in a mountainous region, battery charge mode on long downhills has virtually no penalty and makes a ton of charge. It’s very useful, to the point where I fault the engineers for not making hybrid mode toggle battery charge on and off based on inclinometer data.

    Great video! For me and my driving I find Max Regen gives me less battery miles and worse MPG. I run Max Regen off most, if not all the time. My 2024 latches on Hybrid and Electric but not on E-Save. Would be nice it it did all 3.

    I run electric exclusively for my local travel and usually run at least 150 plus a week on electric. As far as FORM, I haven't had that appear yet, but probably will at some point, I don't know. I have accelerated hard many times, but it has not switched over to gas when I do that, it just gets up and goes. I can say I haven't bought gas for over a month, so for us it works as we thought it would. A road trip will be a different story. Your video is good info to know, however. Thanks.

    For me e-save button is a blessing , while i use it for charging my battery. Let me explain why, i drove 94 miles daily and I don't need to charge my phev for this journey too. I start my car and drive about 27 miles on ev and then when the battery is low it shifts itself to hybrid but i purposely shifts it to e-save to charge my battery while I'm cruising on highway where my car already gives me a good mpg then before arriving to my destination i engaged my ev again when it's fully charged so that the last 10 miles i have in city not highway i save fule and use electric which i generated while cruising on highway. This makes my life easy and i never needed to charge my phev.

      Yeah esave will always use more fuel. Charging or keep the charge with do the same. It better to drain the battery completely and let the vehicle do it thing. It harder for the engine to charge the battery when the battery is charge compare to when the battery is dead. That why easier and faster to charge from 0 to 80% then 80 to 100%.

    I could see using E-save mode to save electrons for quiet time at the campground, arriving at your house at odd hours so your family doesn't wake up, or maybe run the Wrangler's inverter through the night while camping. (I'm sort of spitballing here)
    Do you thing Max-Regen would be handy while trailing or driving in the mountains? Can you recharge the pack some by toggling Max-Regen on/off?

    • @JeepsOnTheRun
      @JeepsOnTheRun  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Those are fair points where E-save might help, I can agree with that.
      Max regen is a huge benefit in the mountains for sure, it will put energy back into the battery system.

    • @LastGuerillaMedia
      @LastGuerillaMedia หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I do use E-Save sometimes when I know I have to drive a mix of freeways and city (more freeway and + 50 mls). Then I keep some charge for the city traffic. I think the engine is probably more efficient running at highway speeds but definitely not in city traffic.
