Yes she did not use her lower register in this, but it is ok because the meaning of the song did not called for it, it is a sweet poetry like song about her life.

There are songs from which tears well up, they are overflowing with emotions, and when these emotions coincide with the text and are reflected inside, like arrows pierce the heart. Diana got just such a song, where joy and pain, strength and despair were mixed - each word is an exact reflection of Diana herself, her inner world, her fate.

I understand that when one first reacts to a foreign language song it is tempting to ignore the lyrics. When I listen to Diana Ankudinova I often just enjoy the beautiful sound scape. However in this case I think that Diana particularly wanted to offer us her lyrics. In a preview video she tells us - with all the painfull, melodramatic sensibility of a 19 year old - that she is offering her soul.

Diana sings this light, floating melody with a voice so delicate, pure and crystal clear... she reveals her feelings to us... full of emotion... spherical... ethereal... and then, after the powerful, rousing repetition of the vocalization, all that remains is Diana's soft voice and the sounds of her ukulele... soulful, sensitive, tearful.
Since I was told that in Russian the verb in the past tense has a gender indication (I should have been more attentive at school)... I had to change my thoughts to the song:
It looks like Diana met someone who was serious. She probably liked him too, but in the end she couldn't get involved with him. The mistrust of other people is probably still deep. She remains alone with her ukulele, with tears and fading memories.
... and now a few words after I saw an interview with Diana about this song. The words came to her spontaneously on a train ride to a concert when she saw the blue sky and she remembered someone who meant something to her. She dedicated her first song to her beloved grandmother, to whom she sang it first. The words are wonderful and allow every listener to lose themselves in them and let their imagination fly.

If you read the lyrics as they accompany the music, the chances of chills increases. It also makes sense of that moment of dissonance you hear at the end of the second verse.

Listening to this, I felt the lyrics to be very specific to Diana's life, but also touching on some universal truths.
The first stanza (with its soothing blues and whites) is Diana's adoptive mother (Irina Ponik) saying look into my eyes and find unconditional love, support, and safety.
The 2nd stanza (with more ominous oranges and reds) is what Irina saw in Diana as an orphan - the hurt, frightened, wolfing girl.
Finally, in the stripped down final verse with just Diana and her ukulele, there are still lingering dreams of her frightful past which can't be escaped (she has commented on this in interviews).
Diana and her mom have such a deep love for each other it is truly touching. Irina has devoted her life to supporting Diana's dreams.

very interesting interpretation, thank you. I can understand Danny's wish to listen without reading along which clearly distracts from the music, but with this song, especially as it is being promoted as Diana's first 100% own work, the lyrics are as important as the music and melody and chord progressions and song build and technical stuff (those are important of course and Diana mastered them all imo), because to me it feels like she identifies very much with her song (how would she not...), it's as if she was saying: 'Look, this is who I am.", and the song with a lyric translation touched me deeper than the music alone... Deep artist she is!

She has a very beautiful and distinctive voice and range. She’s a world class artist. Danny consider reacting to Lizzy McAlpine’s music. Her first two albums are Give Me A Minute and five seconds flat She has a very pure, beautiful, and delicate voice and writes her own very creative stuff. I like Doomsday, Erase Me, Ceilings, Reckless Driving, All my Ghosts, What a Shame, and Orange Show Speedway on five seconds flat. Her first album is also beautiful and impressive. Have done a lot of Dimash reactions before(maybe some have been deleted because of copyright but unfortunately I'm not a big fan of his voice of the music he sings and also his fans are quite annoying when you don't agree with them :-) I agree he's one of the best technical singers out there. I'm a big fan of AJ and Diana though :-)
