My two lab "brothers" were found together on a country road. We started out as their foster placement and quickly failed. Seven years later....they are now seniors at ~13 and ~10. They are still joined at the hip. So glad we were able to keep both. Love them beyond measure!
I truly hope it's still a long ways off but just as a future tip, please make sure which ever one passes first, that the surviving one is able to see & smell the one that has passed. It helps _a_ _lot_ with the grieving for bonded animals.
They should have been considered a package deal in the first place if they came in together. How sad that they separated them. It's not heartwarming when it should have been a given.
The found both these dogs on the same day BUT they weren't found together. So how was the rescue team to recognize that they were buddies? Until, of course, they found them together in one run. FYI - According to several earlier posts, they did get adopted right after the news show profiled them.
So sad. I would never give up my dog. She just turned 6 and we’ve been together since she was 3 months old. We are rarely apart. I never leave her with a sitter. If it came down to it, we’d live out of HER SUV thing. She is my truest friend.
The effort it took for her to get to her friend, it shows how much they love each other. Please someone adopt them together and love them for the rest of their lives!!! Adopt a dog/ cat and you will have unconditional love for life
This reminds me of when a dog jumped over a fence, trotted over to me and greeted me. It had barked at me previously, so I didn't know what to expect but it turned out it is one of the friendliest dogs that I have met.
Working with animals has to be so rewarding, yet how heartbreaking each time they're present to receive a surrendered pet.. and they're so upbeat.. that has to help these poor animals feel just a bit better ❤ I hope these lovely dogs all find their forever homes! And.. everyone needs to be a part of the overpopulation solution.
It is rewarding to a degree. You get paid barely anything, often work long, stressful, physical hours, get treated like crap by clients. I strongly advise people to stay away from vetmed as a career until the industry is better to workers.

They gotta stay together! I would totally adopt these two if I wasn’t half way across the country! We’re looking to home a pit now, but which ever one comes our way we will love as another family member. I believe usually the animal chooses the owner, for me this is true. I always choose the one who clearly wants to go home with me 💕🐶

They really are very attractive dogs...but their affinity for each other is just a tiny part of their adoption success. Are they child, cat, other dog friendly? Do they prefer men or women? Do they dig out of their yard? Lots to consider...but, in my "country" situation? Are they friendly to chickens and piglets?
Cute. I hope these two find a home together. ❤ When we adopted our late pup a little more than 19 years ago, she was 7 months old and had been surrendered by the previous owners, who didn't have time for her. She lived to see her 16th birthday with us in 2019 before we had to say goodbye.
This is adorable. Such determination. The video is priceless. Animals can sometimes be so cute and make us laugh. Regardless if they get adopted together, they'll probably make great pets either way, since they seem to really enjoy having a companion around.

How are veterinarians to be able to afford to spay/neuter pets for free? They has tremendous costs just to start a clinic, plus it takes as long in college to become as it does to become a human MD. They have to make enough to pay the bills and feed their families too. Most of the vets I have had the pleasure of knowing (I worked for one decades ago) already work with rescues/shelters to either spay/neuter the animals for free or give a deeply discounted rate. In my opinion, donating to shelters that require the animal be spayed or neutered before having it adopted is a better answer.
Yes but most make millions you can’t go to a vet today without spending $500. 00 that’s the least for 1 pet! If they cannot then at least cut the price in 1/2 I’m sure a lot of vets would be on board I’m sure they can write alot off as well ! And or ask state or govt for help! Something needs to be done ! The amount of pets being euthanized daily is not only costly ! But more importantly pets are needlessly dying ! For what greedy selfish people that want to keep breeding for money ! And if rescuers can come out of pocket to save and feed strays a veterinarian’s can definitely do it !

They are separated for their safety. A dog fight isn't pretty and the victims can end up maimed and traumatized for life. Have you ever been to a dog park where the owners cannot separate their 2 fighting dogs? Imagine that in a shelter where the humans are not known by the animals that are there.

I will never understand why shelters--of which the great percentage are kill shelters--are so cold and hard, just like prison. These babies deserve comfort and to be loved.
They have to be "cold and hard" to prevent the transmission of disease and parasites. Our local Humane Society has volunteers that go in just to walk the dogs? Maybe you could volunteer to help at your local shelter?

Just read a comment that the news updated a couple adopted them both. I really hope it works out for all of them!
