damn not putting Crypt Of The Necerodancer here on this list is a crime, it stands as the hardest platinum/achievement currently to date just achieved by less than 50 people across all platforms after 8 years of its release
One thing I found hilarious about The Evil Within is that “Akumu” mode is one step above “Nightmare” mode, despite the fact that akumu means nightmare in Japanese. Maybe its supposed to mean that the Japanese have a higher standard of difficulty than western gamers? Idk.
It's not just supposed to mean that, it is simply a fact, there are a lot of super dedicated hardcore gamers in Japan and Korea. I heard that when "The Evil Within" was first released, the version for western markets didn't have the Akumu difficulty, because the devs considered it too frustrating for the average western gamer. It was only made available in the remastered version, because gamers complained about it not being available (and western hardcore gamers having to get a Japanese copy of the game to be able to play it). That's why the achievement is aptly named "You asked for it".
I'm an avid trophy hunter, and the only one of these I have is the Bladder of Steel. My advice: try it on vocals, since there is a five-minute-long guitar solo at the end of Ramblin' Man, the tenth-from-last song, which will allow you to empty your not-quite-steel bladder.
Not only that, but you will also have to invent time travel if you want to unlock World Champion in Advanced Warfighter 2 since Ubisoft shut down the servers for that game. On that note, other similar achievements I can name include Out of the Frying Pan and Smooth Operator in MegaMan X Legacy Collection 2. The former requires you to destroy the Eurasia space colony entirely with the Enigma cannon in X5, which is entirely up to RNG, and the latter requires you to answer all of Alia's radio transmissions in X7, which I believe means you have to answer them as all three characters.
just played a few matches on graw and graw 2 servers on the Xbox a few weeks ago but you would still be hard pressed with the low player counts and the pc servers are actually offline
Mile High Club. Ugh, what a bad day. I spent 4 hours retrying that 1 minute section. My strategic skills still needed some work back then. At one point I punched a hole through a door because I was so mad. I did get to the hostage early on but shot the hostage.
world of warcraft id put "Insane in the Membrane" as one of the most hardest cause it took 6months to a year to complete it , gaining reputation with 5 factions
@schizoidman2633 yeah but... they literally put an exploration achievement from WoW here? Insane in the Membrane deserves the achieve slot on this list significantly more
Well, when button combos for fatalities and whatever else are taken into consideration, it can’t be as easy to perform them with some characters compared to others
Universal Explorer isn’t even close to the hardest WoW achievement. Loremaster (doing all the main quests up until Shadowlands) already takes WAY longer, or Insane In The Membrane in WotLK.
@@Jhoanstc Could be Insane in the Membrane. It requires being Honored with the Bloodsail Buccaneers, and Exalted with Booty Bay, Everlook, Gadgetzan, Ratchet, Darkmoon Faire, Ravenholdt, and Shren'dralar.

God of War: Ragnarok - Valhalla has an achievement that's really hard to earn. In order to get the Rönd Of Obliteration, you have to complete an entire run on Show Me Mastery (The hardest difficulty) with the Penalty of Breaching (Which slowly drains your health). It's near impossible to complete unless you're quick and careful with your moves. It's the ONE achievement in the game I still haven't managed to complete and it annoys me so much!
Did u upgrade all you could? It helps a lot and choosing your path too. It still has a rng factor but there are certain paths that made my life easier. Also choose stuff that boost health recovery.
I would have put Phasmophobia's Prestige III achievement in this list just simply because you have to start from scratch every single time you prestige. It takes forever and you also get docked XP and money if you are killed by the ghost.
I've managed to get the Better than the Best achievement for SE4. It's definitely a challenge but after getting it i felt a true sense of accomplishment
Am mildly surprised you didn't include the Master Zoologist achievement from ARK: Survival Evolved. The game itself is hard enough, with playing it having been likened to being in an abusive relationship, but to tame every single tameable creature on every single map would be damned near impossible, particularly given the BS you have to go through to tame some of them. Troodons would have to be the worst, as you have to let them kill and eat high level tames of your own.
5:39 I'm proud to say I actually accomplished that achievement ! But I also would never suggest to anyone that you do Halo laso unless you're just insane like me. Or you really just love Halo
@squishycacti Halo completionist has some really good guides. So you really just have to watch a bunch of it and go back. But definitely utilized the save and quiet method.
@@ericcorlis3725Believe it or not I thought halo one was harder because of one mission, truth and reconciliation. Fuck that mission. To this day that is the worst piece of shit mission i've ever played in my life. Mainly because Halo one has never had skulls before and the skulls they decided to add are not in any other halo games because they're just the absolute worst. Not only can you not use covenant weapons the entire game. But on that mission , in particular , you only have a sniper rifle and assault rifle the whole time. And it takes at least 3 Head shots to kill a golden Elite and Because of the recession skull. Every shot is worth twice the ammo, so You can only shoot 2 shots off and have to reload Instead of 4. And also just because of the general jenkiness of the controls of that game. Makes Grenade jumping and other things really hard. The only thing that is kind of helpful and also detrimental is the Exploding grunts mixed with the boom skull. Halo 2 is obviously incredibly difficult. But there's only like three Missions that are insanely hard. Cairo station, Regret , and Gravemind. Those missions took me the longest to do. But the thing about halo 2 is. It's one saving grace is the Sputnik skull that effects Gravity differently. It makes it much easier to hit objects and to Do grenade jumps to higher areas that you couldn't normally do. Mixed with the fact that you can have a double overshield. So you can actually surprisingly skip most of the game by getting outside the map. Plus half the missions you play as arbiter and can still go invisible. But the most important thing is with the Sputnik skull , because of the weird Physics, You can hit enemies and it causes them to 180 and you have a chance hit them Directly in the back which can kill them instantly and give you an overshield. Also a perk that sucks but also can be useful Is the fact that the enemys shoot twice as fast which you think would suck, But it turns out that because they shoot faster. They also have a longer cool down between shots. So once an elite for example shoots his Plasma burst, he has an extremely long cool down between his shots so you have ample amounts of time to Go up to him, Smack him, making him 180 and Smack him again to one hit him. I could go On ,but the point is that while it's definitely no easy feat , there are tons of Tips online and halo completionist has guides that really help make one of the hardest challenges ever much more duable for the average person. Just a matter of having patience and time on your hands which I did back in 2020 when I attempted this challenge. Also I put a Piece of scotch tape with an x on the scotch tape on my tv screen for like months to mimic a cross hair 😂

The Hardcore Risette Fan trophy in Persona 4 Golden is so annoying to get. You have to hear 250 different lines of dialogue from your navigator in a fight. Unless you're keeping track of every line she says, you're going to be wandering around A LOT.
Bleh. Same trophy on Persona 5 didn't take that much. Just use status effects, low grade weapons to make battles last longer and of course receiv3 status effects as well.
What about the SplashTag Badges for Splatoon 3? The hardest, in my opinion and very likely the opinion of other people, have to do with the Side Order DLC. And I’m not talking about the Badges you get for doing all 12 runs in the Spire of Order or the Badge you get from completing the Spire of Order with Eight’s Palette with no hacks active, I’m talking about getting the information for each Tone of Color Chip and their respective Color Chips filled in. And when I mean filled in, you have to make it so that you get information from Acht, Marina and Pearl showing when you check the Color Chip in the games menu. Thankfully, there are some Color Chips that you only need one of to see what Acht, Marina and Pearl say about it, but some Color Chips are exclusive to certain Palettes, like the Support Tone Color Chip Quick Charge is exclusive to Marie’s Palette (Order Charger), DJ Octavio’s Palette (Order Splatling) and Shiver’s Palette (Order Stringer). It’s not fun.
I've got a few badges, but nowhere near them all. It's all about luck when it comes to certain tones that you can only get while using one specific weapon. If you don't happen to encounter it, you're out of luck.
But IMO the hardest ones to get are the ones that involve X-ranked battles. You gotta earn your way to X-rank to begin and even that is near-impossible for someone like me who doesn't have the time, the patience and the godlike reaction times needed.
@@bluegold1026 Out of 614 Badges in the game, I only have 93 of them. And I KNOW there will be some I will never get, like the Badge for doing and winning X-Battles, the Badges for doing Big Runs unless the game will have Big Runs return, which is unlikely, and the Badge for dethroning a Trimuvirate. I would need 307 Badges to get half of the Badges done.
Reading all the comments, sounds like WatchMojo is gonna have to make Top 50 Hardest Video Game achievements. So many more than haven't been mentioned.
Wow I actually have one of these achievements 😂 The Surgeon Simulator one, it wasn't that hard tbh, most of my other platinum trophies were much worse. Track mania turbo, Dyad, Shadow of the colossus (ps3 version) due to the hard time attack glitch on Colossus 3... Took me thousands of attempts! 😅
about #22... i've watched a few video of players trying to get that achievement... one of the "skull" effects messes up your Shield, it won't recharge over time, you only recover energy if you hit an enemy with a Melee attack. another one disables your HUD display completely, you not only have no Motion Detector, you can't even tell how much AMMO you have! oh, and another one makes you get only half as much ammo from pickups as normal... you pretty much need to use "speedrunner" tricks to skip entire sections or glitch the game. -for example, one glitch involves parking a vehicle with it's side door against a closed door, then exiting the vehicle. IF it works, you will slip through the door. this can skip the long process of going to the other building to find the switch to open the door, AND most of the enemies won't even appear! (i'm talking about the "silent cartographer" level in HALO 1)
Honorable mentions: - HOLLOW KNIGHT: The Godhome endurance run, in which you have to fight every boss in the game's Godhome Mode without being defeated once, and if you die once, you have to start all over. And that includes the likes of Dream Zote, Nightmare King Grimm, the Pure Knight, and the Radiance. Plus the fact that nearly all of the bosses require razor-sharp precision to be able to dodge their attacks, and a few, like the four just mentioned, can do TWO masks' worth of damage with each hit as opposed to just one...and you get 9 masks when you're fully maxed out in your standard life bar (not counting the blue masks you can unlock to increase your life bar further). - TMNT SHREDDER'S REVENGE: The "Who Needs a Dock?" achievement, which requires you to fight Krang and Super Shredder back-to-back in the final level without being hit even once. Made even harder by the fact that Super Shredder moves incredibly fast, has a teleportation attack, can spawn shadow clones, and can fire waves of flame along the ground, AND you only have one small window of opportunity to do damage to him.
I bet you could get all 30 in any of the big MMOs. I know for example that there are tons of achieves that are for all intents and purposes impossible to get in GW2... unless you arrange for 100 players split in 2 teams (from opposing servers) to agree to pvp combat for a few hours a day for a couple of months and having one side INTENTIONALLY losing in order for the other to farm the achieves. Not technically impossible to do, but might as well be. Also there is an achieve in ETS2 that if you started playing now would require you to play for 1000s of hours to get, and every year the task becomes harder as the game map expands so you kinda have to be ultra dedicated and thus will end up having to no life the game for 6 months straight.
Sniper Elite 4 was actually pretty ok apart for 1 point where the game broke itself and i had to restart (monastery mission, exit didnt open after completing tasks). But Mile high club thats was the biggest pain ever, instadead in 3 shots plus very short time window. So it should have been swapped with Mein Leben because that was actually pretty easy if one uses brain
I don't know who plays these games or makes these lists, but this seems like a list made by someone with their own experiences rather than actually researching the hardest achievements. The fact that Half-Life is nowhere to be found is astonishing. The Orange Box alone has some of the toughest to get. HL2 complete Raven Holm without guns. HL2 Episode 1 The One Free Bullet - complete the entire episode firing only one bullet. HL2 Episode 2 send the garden gnome into space. Even Portal can be a nightmare doing the challenges like earn a gold medal in every advanced map, yeah, good luck. Then there is also mirrors edge complete the whole game without using a single gun. Even Cuphead's pacifist achievement trumps all the rest of the videos hardest achievements. This list is a cake walk compared to some real hard work achievements.
Emperor! achievement from ESO is not a difficult one to get, especially during PvP Events where additional campaigns are opened and a guild or group of players can dominant early on, get the achievement, abandon the campaign, moving the next player in the group up to earn it, rinse and repeat. Also helps thats the previous players faction flip to ensure the achievement is gained thru less than desirable efforts. This shouldnt even be on the list with the known exploits. On paper, sure its tough, but the vast majority dont earn it that way.
I'll tell you whats the most time consuming more than anything else is anything that has to deal with Gears of War. With the exception of 4 cause I actually got all the achievements relatively quickly. The amount of grind that each one requires is baffling, and it doesn't even feel like you're playing a game anymore. Just doing mindless tasks. So while there are some hard achievements, some of them just break your sole because of how monotonous it is. It's not even that it's necessarily hard. Just way too time consuming.
Huh, I've actually got a few of these. Most I wouldn't bother trying for though. Games are supposed to be fun but most devs these days design trophy lists that just end up making you hate the game and never want to play it again.
Remedy is working on a Max Payne 1 + 2 remake, but considering James McCaffrey(Max Payne's Voice Actor) died in 2023, I doubt any new entries will release.
I really appreciate your efforts! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
I hate this kind of achievements; but because the reason of achievements are to "be achieved". Yes, some of them can be hard to get, or grindy; but when you put an insanly impossible task (like the "play 10.000 hours"), that's just petty from the developers. Same thing with online achievements, which I think are another stupid thing since many players (like myself) don't care of the MP, but only the campaign of the game. Also, a very common issue, is that servers are taken down, but achievements prevail; so if it's no longer "achievable", it shouldn't exist. For completionist like me, this is truly a nightmare. At least with Steam, you can use SAM to at least ease the OCD of having 100% completion even when some achievements are not possible to get; but it shouldn't have to be that way
1:35 I got that Trophy for The Evil Within and It was Fking Dreadful 4:21 Part of me Still wants to go for that platinum while part of me doesn’t want to 9:32 Same can be said for this one
I have Messiah I did literal homework on Outlast 2 Had to play each chapter on nightmare until I could get through them blind Even wrote out every step I had to take in each chapter. Still have all my notes lol Insane mode is no joke Speedrunning that game took a lot of effort
I support more games having near impossible achievements. If trophy hunters are going to use the number of platinums as a gauge for how much of a gamer someone is, I want harder platinums. Better differentiation will help determine who is outside +3 Sigma. 😂
Beating Diablo 3 on Hardcore isn't hard. Beating Lost Planet Extreme Condition on Extreme difficulty however. That was hard, my proudest achievement seeing how i beat it over 15 years ago. Not sure how i'd fare today.
I have to disagree with Diablo 3 Hardcore mode achievement I'm really not that good of a gamer and even I got that one, the game let's you select the difficulty, you just got to play it safe
12:06 This achievement isn't all that hard actually. I did it 4 times with different classes for shits and giggles. All my friend had it too. Just make a monk with high defense and you can do it easy.

i've watched a few video of players trying to get that achievement...
one of the "skull" effects messes up your Shield, it won't recharge over time, you only recover energy if you hit an enemy with a Melee attack.
another one disables your HUD display completely, you not only have no Motion Detector, you can't even tell how much AMMO you have!
oh, and another one makes you get only half as much ammo from pickups as normal...
you pretty much need to use "speedrunner" tricks to skip entire sections or glitch the game.
Honorable mentions:
- HOLLOW KNIGHT: The Godhome endurance run, in which you have to fight every boss in the game's Godhome Mode without being defeated once, and if you die once, you have to start all over.
The tetris rebirth as well
There is no way the tetris rebirth is not on here, this list is not complete without that
Mien Leben from Wolfenstein the new colossus defo needs to be on here
10,000 hours of starring at a tree? Thats 417 days! The achieve out to be named "What is grass?"
Weird timing… I got messiah a few days ago 😁
Did you just put an exploration achievement for WoW THAT high??? Kinda wild
I've completed the Injustice and Mega Man 10 ones.
The suttle hawk tuah reference caught me off guard😂😂😂
Chromehounds deserved to be on this list.
So it should have been swapped with Mein Leben because that was actually pretty easy if one uses brain
rapid discord: a 6 sec window to do in overwatch
Reach level 99 on hardcore in Diablo 2 not being here seems awfuly suspect 😂
Diablo 3 dlc achievement for finishing act V on hardcore is much harder
Got the Diablo III one and the Outlast II one that's enough time sink for me.
7:18 say that again
Getting all the souls achievements without getting the die for the first time achievement
auf wiedersehen petrovic from GTA4.
A recent one is getting Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s platinum….
Fuck those mini games.
The shadow rushed me from Max Payne 3 had me multiple tries only to die to some stupid bullshit. The only trophy in the game I gave up on.
It took me 9 tries to beat it
Huh, I've actually got a few of these. Most I wouldn't bother trying for though. Games are supposed to be fun but most devs these days design trophy lists that just end up making you hate the game and never want to play it again.
Save 10000 survivors in fortnite has to be at least top 10 😭
Ahnayro : the dream world nobody can get a achievement without using Google
WatchMojo you are on fire these days with good gaming videos 🤩
For me big boss emblem is easy
The hardest one was the chicken emblem
Its just take tooooo much time doing nothing
so basically the hardest achivements are all the hard mode achivements .... got it
Hardest achievements I’ve experienced was on the super hot games
FYI, 10,000 hours is a bit over a year.
Oh great, I’m a trophy collector and bought Outlast 2 thinking insane mode was easy because I found Outlast easy 🤦🏼♂️
I tried to achieve the trophies
Thankfully, Microsoft made Quick Resume (allowing you to leave your game where it is and different games or apps, and then come back anytime)
#9 isnt hard as long as you get enough food and hold out and put a timer every time youre about to run out of health. I have it so I know
Does anyone know if the Max Payne game series is going forward with any new entries?
Remedy is working on a Max Payne 1 + 2 remake, but considering James McCaffrey(Max Payne's Voice Actor) died in 2023, I doubt any new entries will release.
@IAmHoTSHoTzz aaaaw I didn't know that, but happy about the remakes. May he RIP!!
Must be hard work collecting trophies
Everybody is good at fps until they try the mile high club the campaign alone is easily the hardest ive ever played.
Beating king dice on cuphead is basically a achievement in In self
I really appreciate your efforts! I need some advice: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
What about the dumbest achievements
I hate this kind of achievements; but because the reason of achievements are to "be achieved". Yes, some of them can be hard to get, or grindy; but when you put an insanly impossible task (like the "play 10.000 hours"), that's just petty from the developers. Same thing with online achievements, which I think are another stupid thing since many players (like myself) don't care of the MP, but only the campaign of the game. Also, a very common issue, is that servers are taken down, but achievements prevail; so if it's no longer "achievable", it shouldn't exist. For completionist like me, this is truly a nightmare. At least with Steam, you can use SAM to at least ease the OCD of having 100% completion even when some achievements are not possible to get; but it shouldn't have to be that way
Where's Snamwiches when you need him?
Lots of hard and hardcore mode challenges. No thank you I have a life.
heaven and hell difficulty of devil may cry 5 and chadley brutal challenge of Final fantasy 7 rebirth its ultimate of all those more harder
This total war on total war attila on legendary as the WRE is more difficult than Rome II.
what about A Monument to All your Sins and If They Came To Hear Me Beg from Halo Reach?
1:35 I got that Trophy for The Evil Within and It was Fking Dreadful
4:21 Part of me Still wants to go for that platinum while part of me doesn’t want to
9:32 Same can be said for this one
I have Messiah
I did literal homework on Outlast 2
Had to play each chapter on nightmare until I could get through them blind
Even wrote out every step I had to take in each chapter.
Still have all my notes lol
Insane mode is no joke
Speedrunning that game took a lot of effort
Should be higher imo
Getting original color Magearna in Pokémon Home.
I support more games having near impossible achievements.
If trophy hunters are going to use the number of platinums as a gauge for how much of a gamer someone is, I want harder platinums. Better differentiation will help determine who is outside +3 Sigma. 😂
geometry star, change my mind
Beating Diablo 3 on Hardcore isn't hard. Beating Lost Planet Extreme Condition on Extreme difficulty however. That was hard, my proudest achievement seeing how i beat it over 15 years ago. Not sure how i'd fare today.
what's the game in the thumbnail?
I have to disagree with Diablo 3 Hardcore mode achievement I'm really not that good of a gamer and even I got that one, the game let's you select the difficulty, you just got to play it safe
The mispronunciation of LASO hurt my heart.
12:06 This achievement isn't all that hard actually. I did it 4 times with different classes for shits and giggles. All my friend had it too. Just make a monk with high defense and you can do it easy.
i got the "explorer" title in WotLK so ive saved a LOT of time now :D
Gun one seems like u can look up the patent
