Yeah, that's because it had a convoluted rule system that never really told to the player, lol. If you use all the rules to your advantage, it's.... well, still a pain in the as tbh 😂 but easier none the less
@jaylee9552 i liked the challenge that it had nuance that required the player to notice what was going on like when to input your commands. And also liked that its health pool wasn't in millions.
@christophergonzales2742 😂 i was like 7 when I first played it, so it took me like a month to beat the boss, and I mostly figured it out by trail and error.
Funny when I read it was about secret bosses, I immediately thought of The Dahaka from Prince of Persia, Warrior Within. You had fine numerous hidden upgrades to get the Water Sword and then defeat The Dahaka with that said Water Sword. It was a difficult battle (at the time) and surely deserves a spot on this list.
oh yeah all the health shrines. funny enough when 2 thrones came out it made the dhaka fight the canon one, since you sailed away with the princess, even tho it was pretty hard to even get to :D the fight itself was pretty easy IF you had full sands to spam slow time :)
The coolest thing was finishing Pokémon Gold and after beating the Elite Four, you think the game is over. Then, you find out you have access to the entire Kanto region. That blew my mind as a kid!
I was really hoping (and happy) to see Driviks on this list. I still remember when that was first found early on in the Taken King (2015). Not only did it reward you Black Spindle, the first exotic successor to Black Hammer, functionally identical, but you also had a rare chance at obtaining the Vienna Singer ship as well. I also remember it being one of the most difficult challenges in the game at the time: It only appeared in one mission, Lost to Light, and that mission had to be the current heroic daily mission. You couldn’t die at all through the whole thing leading up to it, and it was time sensitive with the door to the alternate ending. 20 minutes to clear everything out, in every room, including the ads that spawned with the boss. You couldn’t just kill Drivik’s and claim victory, and getting overwhelmed by ads was extremely easy. Add onto that the 20-30 second death timer before you could respawn and high light level, and it was a doozy. Still, it is one of my favourite early memories of playing Destiny with my friends. The triumphant satisfaction of claiming what is still one of the best sniper rifles in all of the franchise cannot be matched.
Technically, Lingering Will wasn’t from KH 2.5 ReMix…it was from Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, which was exclusive to Japan until the HD collections came out
One that's been on my mind was Nebilim from Tales of the Abyss.... My very first time finding out about it excited me, but took me a long time to even beat. She had so much more health than any other boss, and strong mystic artes that either killed my party or left me at 1 hp if i was lucky.
Yeah, Terra gave me a LOT of headaches when playing Kingdom Hearts. And, boy, did my cousin celebrate it when finally defeated Sigrun. No wonder they're secret bosses. They're so unfair sometimes.
I love the secret final boss in Dragon Quest 8. After the regular final boss, you can fight like 7-9 trials against a secret boss, each time he levels up. The very final version of the trial are all of his 7 or 8 forms in a row. Even though I love the game I only ever managed to defeat the first 2 or 3 trials, not even getting to the final version of him. Definitely an honorable mention, even if the fight can obviously made easier by leveling to the max level (which is a grind and a half to be sure) Little edit: I just found out that in the 3DS remake of DQ8, you can unlock a second secret dungeon by completing the trial once. This unlocks an even stronger secret final boss, Estark. I have honestly no clue how strong he is but it sounds like a challenge. Even unlocking him is hard since it requires you to finish the game, then beat the secret boss trial and then beat the boss rush in the second secret dungeon, culminating in the final boss Estark.
How about Prince Mush from Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door? Not really "hidden" as he literally sends you an email to challenge him, but the only way to hurt him is to counter his attacks.
Absolute Radiance Hollow Knight Godmaster and Driviks, The Chosen Destiny and The Nameless King Dark Souls 3 and The Warden Minecraft and The Lingering Will Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix and The Darklurker Dark Souls 2 left me in awe on the PS4 or on the PS3
What about Tall Lady from Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water? In order to fight her you have to get picture of her or glance her in the episode she appears in the first time and then she shows up in another episode to fight you and you get a hidden cutscene after defeating her but you have to glance her but she's not easy and her attacks do a ton of damage.
Dullahan from Golden Sun 2 was the biggest pain in my butt. On top of being insanely strong and hard to kill, Gameboys didn't have plug in features so if your batteries died or you had to turn the console off, you were screwed one way or another.
Given the release of this video, you should have considered the Remake version of Super Mario RPG, as Culex gets another iteration where he gets his 3D form, and he's an even more daunting challenge than the original's (though you can confront the original even in the remake), and he's going to wring out every bit of your SMRPG knowledge as well as EXPECTING you to be at a high level, because you can't confront him without surviving Jonny's Rematch to get the Extra Shiny Stone, as well as making sure your party is kitted out with their best possible armor and weapons as well as a very good stock of recovery items to ensure you're not caught lacking when he does Meteor as it will KO a party Member immediately if they're not at Max Health, or get DANG good at a perfect timed guard or quickly recovering from 3D Culex's Final Claw, which KO's a Party Member instantly if you fail a perfect timed guard when he doesn't have his crystals. Oh, and his Crystals can randomly choose to lock a button command like Bowyer does, so you BETTER be ready for when certain actions get locked out, ESPECIALLY if you lose access to your Items due to them being locked out temporarily!
I am surprised that Freya did not make this list on Star Ocean Till the End of Time. She has a massive 20M HP on normal difficulty, and can easily wipe out your party in an instant if you let her get Ether Strike off. If you decide to take her on on the 4D difficulty level, she has 60M HP AND her attack stat is over 10k so there is no way to get your DEF stat to 10k.
The list was fun, but I still hoped to see either Legend of Dragoon's Faust, or Illusion of Gaia's Shield Arm. They both require finding all of a thing, throughout exploring the game, then being punished for your diligence. 😊 I assume most Tales games have one, too, but Abyssion is the one I remember most; hecwas a bitch, except one run, where I accidentally poisoned him, and he keeled over. I still don't how, because I didn't cause it intentionally.
The Skeleton Boss in Tales Of Syphonia for the GameCube. It is a mission to find the special weapon for every character that unlocks the final secret boss. And everybody has to be maxed out if you even want to stand a chance against him
Secret of Evermore had a hidden boss fight too, and only could be found by entering a randomized code into a console (because every play through changed what the gates code was, and if that randomized code was the EXACT same code as the security shutdown code, it locked the battle from being accessed for the rest of the game) near the end of the game Known as Face, the weaponized computer screens (as it has two screens) could only launch Flash spells as an offensive attack, but they were at the highest spell level and they could also heal themselves. Plus being one of the fastest magic casters in the game, they can launch multiple attacks before the first spell even lands a blow.
I think the hardest secret boss is the one in Black Myth Wukong. To unlock him you need to ring all 3 bells which will unlock a secret temple where the secret boss was locked away. Without being a high level, having all spells, having max magic, having the highest Gourd and the best armor the fight is next to impossible. Also, if you don’t offer incense at the shrine it will be impossible to return later. I went back once and decided to explore and there was no way to leave without travel through the shrine.
An honorable mention needs to go to Dullahan in the Golden Sun games. In his first appearance in The Lost Age, you can cheese him with a good strategy, but it still is going to be an endeavor. In Dark Dawn, the fight is much harder as he can turn your own summons against you, in addition to his many powerful attacks and actions from The Lost Age. The method to get to him in The Lost Age however I find to be more memorable as you will have needed to have played the first game, getting all 28 Djinn and the Orb of Force, then transfer them over to The Lost Age via a link cable between two GBAs or a Gold password (the Orb of Force is needed for at least one Mars Djinni in The Lost Age). When you have all 72 Djinn, you can use them to enter Anemos Inner Sanctum, which is a pretty hard puzzled packed dungeon with some really strong enemies to boot. In both times you meet Dullahan, defeating him rewards with Iris, the by far strongest Summon in the game, who requires 4 Mercury Djinn and 9 Mars to Djinn to be summoned to attack with a powerful combination of water and fire, followed by fully healing and reviving your entire party (that even includes those on standby).
There are several hidden bosses in Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. But if you defeat Gebel, leave the room, and go back in, you fight a personification of the producer of the game.
I beat culex in super mario rpg, the best strategy is to get both the lazy shell armor and lazy shell weapon then equip the armor to peach and the weapon to mario. The armor basically prevents all but 1 damage to peach most of the time and use hervas your healer. The weapon massively increases mario's attack stat deals absurd damage. It's still a grind but those two items help significantly
Angra Mainyu and Trema from FF X-2 are not secret bosses but they are still challenging fights. I know the Catnip accessory was fun to use but that took the challenge out of the fights. I understand why that accessory got nerfed in the remaster.
Realy good list A bit Inside from the Bosses I beat I beat Morgan Freeman, by stucking him in an infinte Loop trhough the Clone Fart The Demon of Hatred; I beat only once, damm that took long Meania was quiet a challenge in my first run, but with the right build its "easy". Great Spear of Gransax, knocks her down with the weapon art; Flies Incantaion to bleed her down, as some examples Not only Sigrun, all of the Valkyrie in that game where realy challenging The Nameless King, one of the best Bosses in all From Software games. The Atmosphere, the Music, Peak The darklurker, himself not much of a challenge, the way to get to him was the cancer I would have put Darkeater Midir and Sans in this as well.
Penance from FFX can be 1-shotted with Yojimbo. It's still a decent entry for the list. Certainly far more 'secret' than half of the list. But it certainly needn't take an hour for the actual battle.
Easily Freya from Star Ocean Till the End of Time. I have played that game many times over and I can still say I’ve beaten her only a few times. And that’s only on galaxy difficulty. That’s not even getting onto universe or 4D difficulty where her 20 million hp and 5000 attack is tripled. Add on the fact she uses her ultimate attack, which hits room wide and is an instant death, like it’s a regular attack and yes she’s extremely difficult.
Magician Faust from legend of dragoon was really amazing too. You had to collect all 50 stardust’s to get a special item to be able to break his illusion and fight the real him. If your character stats weren’t up to par, you’d very easily get wiped out. He was a fun boss fight 😊
Magician Faust could be cheesed with 3 legend casques, and if you were competent with using Haschel and Meru, as their additions were a little pesky on timing, Faust was no challenge at all.
@ lol so when I actually played LOD I was a child lol so…. There wasn’t this mentality of “cheesing” or having the right characters to make quick work of Faust lol I had my favorite characters as my team, I struggled through that fight, and when I finally did defeat him? 10 year old me was very happy lol
@@IrvinBohac-y3q I wasn't much older... I was 14 when it came out. First time I beat him was with Dart, Rose, and Kongol, and yeah, it was a challenge, and I only had one legend casque on kongol... made the fight survivable, but still rough. and I couldn't deal with the timing on Haschel or Meru at that age. Ironically when I played the game many years later in my 20's, the characters I was good with as I kid I was garbage with and couldn't get the timing down.
@@grimthanatos7350lol see you’re good you had some of the armor pieces to make it easier lol 😂 I didn’t even have a “speed down” lol 😂 the fight took forever lol. From what I recall…. My characters were…… kongol, dart, Miranda? It’s been so many years I don’t recall. But that was one hell of a game. Since we are in the world of remakes… let’s cross fingers this one gets one too!
I know you can find him easily in the game, but sephiroth in KH1. Then there is also the phantom at Big Ben in Neverland in KH1. Finally Gummy Mission Boss of KH3.
Culex could be cheesed by putting the Lazy Shell armor on Peach and using healing as needed until Culex loses all FP. Not sure if Culex 3D can be cheesed...
Secret Boss? You mean those secret bosses are very powerful like final boss?😮 Whoa, I'm pretty surprised now because I already did fought secret bosses in video games like Kingdom Hearts games and I was defeated by secret boss.😱
@andresfajardo6838, Secret bosses are harder? Oh yeah, I remember that because I already tried to defeat secret bosses in Kingdom Hearts games series, but I didn't defeat them because they're too strong and I already defeated by secret boss, but I already did give up to defeat secret bosses.😮
The Warden is not a secret boss in Minecraft. It’s a hostile and powerful mob that players must overcome in the game, but the Ancient City is optional, and the loot the Warden drops upon being defeated is not worth it.
im not one of the gitgud bro, im just average player, but believe me sigrun in GOW became easy because all the rest of valkyries you defeated prior prepares you to fight her
Personally, I never faced this boss (let alone play the game) but I feel Chakravartn from Asura's Wrath deserved to be on this list. You literally have to be perfect in EVERY fight just to reach this deity. The fight itself is insanely intense with scene changes and form switch ups.
I expected Culex to be here. Two things not mentioned is that the remake of Super Mario RPG brings in a rematch against a MUCH HARDER Culex and that defeating him causes the old school "Final Fantasy Victory Theme" to play instead of the usual fanfare for Super Mario RPG itself.
Fighting the Monster Hunter creatures in Peace Walker just felt so right. There really should have been a full game where those two mechanics are combined!
I’m glad Destiny got a positive mention! It was a great game, and I met some amazing people playing it. Even if it’s in a horrible state now, the first game was amazing…
I tried fighting emerald it is just so hard. Honestly I’m just going to focus on getting gold chocobo and then finish up the game I completed everything else in the game
Why is The Creation(Grima) from Fire Emblem Echoes: SoV isn't included in this list? That secret boss has some interesting lore that ties in to the events in Awakening.
9:31 now I'm not sure about the other Star Ocean games, but I found and fought the Ethereal Queen in S.O-Til the End of Time and she certainly wasn't the hardest secret boss in that. I'm pretty sure she places 3rd in that category, I'm fairly certain the 2nd hardest secret boss is a just after her in the 101 floor dungeon. The hardest secret boss in my opinion comes after you beat the 101 dungeon and take the key item you receive back to where the mountain cave with the large dragon is and use it to summon Freya, the most difficult boss I've ever faced in a RPG.havent given that an attempt in over 13 or 14 years
Kind of adding on to this too. When it comes to characters from Japan, you usually refer to them by their last names, not their first. So it would be Kiryu instead of Kazuma and Mijima instead of Goro.
Many memories with Galdera Ethereal Queen Slot Machine Emerald Weapon Culex Repitile Noob Saibot Monster Hunter Monsters Akuma and you also forgot Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts I’ve seen and have all from 1980-Now I have every console and tons of games
@@350fThere is no secret boss in Red, Blue or Yellow. Red, the protagonist of the Gen 1 games, is the secret boss in Gen 2’s Gold Silver and Crystal, as well as their Gen 4 remakes HeartGold and SoulSilver. And he is the only protagonist in a Pokemon game that is fought in later games, though the protagonists of Black 1 and White 1 were going to be fought in Black 2 and White 2 but got scrapped.
I think of a secret boss that left every gamer in awe. Parace L'Sia from Arcana Heart 3. Oh my god, she is a pain! She so broken that she can fire energy spheres at the player that can kill you in a instant. It is too difficult to fight her while in Score Attack mode. What do you think about Parace L'Sia, anybody, and what are your thoughts?

Video games forever 🔥
Smoky Progg - Pikmin 1
Realy good list
A bit Inside from the Bosses I beat
I beat Morgan Freeman, by stucking him in an infinte Loop trhough the Clone Fart
The Demon of Hatred; I beat only once, damm that took long
Meania was quiet a challenge in my first run, but with the right build its "easy". Great Spear of Gransax, knocks her down with the weapon art; Flies Incantaion to bleed her down, as some examples
Not only Sigrun, all of the Valkyrie in that game where realy challenging
The Nameless King, one of the best Bosses in all From Software games. The Atmosphere, the Music, Peak
The darklurker, himself not much of a challenge, the way to get to him was the cancer
I would have put Darkeater Midir and Sans in this as well.
No the secret bosses are harder
@andresfajardo6838, Secret bosses are harder? Oh yeah, I remember that because I already tried to defeat secret bosses in Kingdom Hearts games series, but I didn't defeat them because they're too strong and I already defeated by secret boss, but I already did give up to defeat secret bosses.😮
The Warden is not a secret boss in Minecraft. It’s a hostile and powerful mob that players must overcome in the game, but the Ancient City is optional, and the loot the Warden drops upon being defeated is not worth it.
‘South Park: The Fractured But Whole’ = My 2nd most favorite South Park game. 😁
@@mr.decencykeepinitreal6348 Stick of Truth was class first time round.
Till this day Sigrun haunts me and Kratos and until I defeat her, a new game plus will not be started. That glorious trophy will be mine.
im not one of the gitgud bro, im just average player, but believe me sigrun in GOW became easy because all the rest of valkyries you defeated prior prepares you to fight her
Yes on easy but try her ON hard where U fucking cant interrupt her because of her hyperarmor
Im 100% Sure U dont have done this
Personally, I never faced this boss (let alone play the game) but I feel Chakravartn from Asura's Wrath deserved to be on this list.
It was even more fun getting to S rank them
10:20 "Bowser's always been the big main baddie in the Mario series" bro don't be treating Smithy like that
putting omegaplugg on here instead of The Lurker Below from SSC is criminal and you shall be tried for your heresy !!!
In ratchet and clank 2 there's a secret boss on the first planet
No Charon from Hades?
Honorable mention: Reptile (Mortal Kombat)
I don't think that Emerald Weapon is a secret boss. Optional boss is the right answer.
Yeah you literally swim past him to do a mandatory part of the story. It's half RNG whether he will be in that bit of water. But he definitely can be.
Agree. Ruby Weapon I could see, you kinda have to go looking for him. But Emerald you're almost certain to run across.
I’m glad Destiny got a positive mention! It was a great game, and I met some amazing people playing it. Even if it’s in a horrible state now, the first game was amazing…
I missed Dulahan from golden sun 2 and the dahaka from prince of persia warrior within
Inner agent 3 is the GOAT. Watch Mojo ranked it 30th cause their staff never beat him😅
The criosphinx from Chrono Cross
Since SMRPG is in here, I'm surprised none of the secret bosses from FF6 or 8 are in here
The Ethereal Queen…she was a pain, but fun
I tried fighting emerald it is just so hard. Honestly I’m just going to focus on getting gold chocobo and then finish up the game I completed everything else in the game
Absolute Virtue not being on this list is a crime.
I think they fixed the Cow King and you can make burgers from him without losing access.
Ultima and Omega Weapons in Final Fantasy VIII
Omega definitely deserved to be on this list at least
Why does this narrator sound like an AI bot?
Give ya 3 guesses 😅
Why is The Creation(Grima) from Fire Emblem Echoes: SoV isn't included in this list? That secret boss has some interesting lore that ties in to the events in Awakening.
9:31 now I'm not sure about the other Star Ocean games, but I found and fought the Ethereal Queen in S.O-Til the End of Time and she certainly wasn't the hardest secret boss in that. I'm pretty sure she places 3rd in that category, I'm fairly certain the 2nd hardest secret boss is a just after her in the 101 floor dungeon. The hardest secret boss in my opinion comes after you beat the 101 dungeon and take the key item you receive back to where the mountain cave with the large dragon is and use it to summon Freya, the most difficult boss I've ever faced in a RPG.havent given that an attempt in over 13 or 14 years
I want to see a list of Top Bosses added by mods.
Chaos Dragon from Minecrafts Draconic revolution mod or A number of Terraria mods comes to mind.
Says Emerald Weapon.. Shows Ruby Weapon lol..
Probably, the CrioSphinx from Chrono Cross. It's so damn hard when you don't know the answer to it's questions.
Dark Demon from Demon´s Crest deserves to be on this list
so... the warden in minecraft is essentially a berserker from gears of war.
For future reference, the secret bosses in the Yakuza franchise are pronounced Aw-mon. Like "awww" and the end of "Pokémon"
Kind of adding on to this too. When it comes to characters from Japan, you usually refer to them by their last names, not their first. So it would be Kiryu instead of Kazuma and Mijima instead of Goro.
Wicked K from Darksiders 2
This sounds like straight up AI narrated yo
I miss the 90s and early 2000s games😢.
You left out "The Forgotten One" in "Castlevania: Lament of Innocence".
FYI Culex is in the remake of SM RPG
Crazy no mention of red from Pokémon blue, red and yellow 😢 or gold from silver, gold
Who was the secret boss in Red/Blue? I’m drawing a blank.
What do you think about Parace L'Sia, anybody, and what are your thoughts?
if the warden in minecraft is blind and responds to sounds then does it get confused by playing music around it from the record player?
How are none of the tales secret bosses not on this? The one for ariae literally has time stops and is a nightmare!!!
The attacks “can be detrimental to your health” …ok😂
