Global Military Rank: My Country: Old equipment and most of them are way back world war two and few personnel *Rank* 48 in military power. Finland: decent and modernized equipment(even though some are quite old) *Rank* 59 *wait a minute*
Well, this ranking is kinda strange. It even puts Latvia ahead of Estonia... And we all know whish millitary, has more equipment, more trained man and is faster developing..
Finland has immideate reserve of 380 000 men and 950 00 in total (rest forr replacements) and solid gear, very close to buying F-35 fighters, but Corona and its economic results have delayed the fighter purchase by few years. Anyways Id say our equipment is modern even with the F/A-18 hornets, cause they have been given all the updates. Tanks are 300 Leopard 2A6 and another 200-300 2A4. Even the assault rifles got update, have red dot sights and grenade launchers and for some troops even more sweets, So I dont understand why they would trash rank us to be honest :D If thats the case that you can get around those positions with very old equipment and low numbers.

@@howepellin The Global Firepower measures the Budget too greatly. Finland has for example half the budget of Sweden and thus Sweden is much higher with its full mobilizied strenght of 60 000 men with good equipment. The Global firepower doesn't take into the account that how much of the budget goes to professional soldiers wages. FDF budget 3.158 billion euros, If we say average pay of FDF emplyees is 3500e and there are 8,056 staff that would total to 338 352 000 euros per year + 25 000 reservists with average of lets say 8 euros per day ( it varies with the lenght of service from around 5 to 10 euros) that is 73 000 000 per year so in total 411 352 000 euros goes to wages. Finnish Mobilized strenght 380 000 and from great to good enough equipped. Sweden: professionals 22,500 and if we go with the same 3500 euros per month that is 945 000 000 a year from yearly budget of €5.68 billion. Conclusion: Budgets after wages Finland: 2 746 648 000 euros, Sweden: 4 735 000 000 euros. This makes the difference even though Sweden doesn't get Defence forces that can defend the country (they don't really need to, but it would be nice for Finland to have Sweden back as military power) they are much higher ranked 32 and Finland with cabable defence forces to defend the country 59. Sweden does have stronger Navy and Air force, where most of there budget goes to. It looks like Finland also gets negative effect from road coverage, which is actually good for the defence. Western part of country - great infrastucture but the east (where our "threat" is) is less covered. This is advantage for the Finns because the Norwegians who flank us and attack from the east rely on roads because of their poor logistics structure and reliance of mechanized infantry. Finns of the forests around the roads and can funnel enemy forces with them. But Global firepower doesn't look at the actual situation as it shouldn't, this was just me pointing out the road coverage doesn't always mean bad for logistics.
In a Finland vs. Russia (no Allies) Russia would ultimately win jus do to Numbers but it would cost them dearly with every yard gained paid in blood. That cost is what keeps men free, be it Finland, Estonia or anywhere else in the world.
Just nuke em loooooooool. You know that typical war is unlikely nowadays? Especially between eu blocks. No need to discuss this propaganda shiet. No one will ever win at this point.
I understand Finland beat Russia in 1939 but technology has progressed so much from then that a war between the two countries would be drastically different than the winter war of 1939.
You pointed this out already, but recent developments should really be taken into account for these exercises. The OPFOR in that video seems like a 90s Soviet / early 2000s Russian military.

Finland also has ~250 moderm main battle tanks and 900+ moderm artillery pieces. One of the most powerful artillery forces in Europe.
Only in your dreams.
Finland has outdated weapons and this is a fact, so there is no need to cry because of this.
@@zaplakailol You're the same guy who's always trolling in videos related to the Finnish military.
The tanks are Leopard 2A4's and 2A6's, far from outdated. Meanwhile Estonia has zero main battle tanks of any kind, only light infantry fighting vehicles.
Finland also recently ordered 48 K9 Thunders from South Korea.
@@hankdasilva3817 Finland threw off self-propelled guns together with Estonia. Yes, and I see no reason to cry to you because of the facts.
And the tanks do not decide the outcome of the battle for Finland.
@@zaplakailol Probably not, the single most crucial systen would be fighter jets, of which Finland has around 60 while Estonia has once again zero.

Have a nice day
You to
Its always funny to me that russia would think about screwing with finland again. They fought before and even though russia won. Finland put an ass whoopin on the that they still havenf been able to total up. If i remember finland lost about 30 thousand troops compared to an estimated 250,000 troops. Not a typo. Look it up and do a video on it. Go finland!!
Well you never know Russia’s military is a lot better than it was 20 years ago just because Finland managed to stop the Soviet Union from taking over doesn’t mean it might happen the exact same today
finland lost 11% of their territory that contained 30% of there economy, and they surrendered and signed to every soviet demand.
wow what a victory
We have around 400k across our borders, 6ft below ofc.
@@MrStolboy THe thing is, at least we where not soviet puppet state. We might be still recovering the fall of soviet block if we had fully lost the war.
All so at least we paid all reparations to them compared other contries that call certain guts even it hurt the nation it self.
The present Russian army is geared to take on the whole of nato. Their forces are more efficent if not they will have air superiority and better air defence like the s400 and s500 Ask usa what happens if a country has air superiority.

Interesting thing is that all the costal, marine, units speak and give orders in swedish, except for the actual command. Nylands brigad, "Uudenmaan prikaati", where also I served. Also part why Finland and Sweden costal defense have easy to co-operate, almost same language.

Global Military Rank:
My Country: Old equipment and most of them are way back world war two and few personnel *Rank* 48 in military power.
Finland: decent and modernized equipment(even though some are quite old) *Rank* 59
*wait a minute*
@@dmitrikaljuznoi1323 seems like a standard of having strong military and high rank is nit based on equipment, moral and manpower at all i guess its something we dont know cuz its kinda really strange
@@source9264 see? thats already decent for finland to defend its nation my country only had 200,000 active personnel and 300,000 reserves with 200 ifvs and 114 apcs and 12 fighter Jets thats all finland deserves a better rank than *59* .
Anyone else get a notification and it instant went down?
In a Finland vs. Russia (no Allies) Russia would ultimately win jus do to Numbers but it would cost them dearly with every yard gained paid in blood. That cost is what keeps men free, be it Finland, Estonia or anywhere else in the world.
Just nuke em loooooooool. You know that typical war is unlikely nowadays? Especially between eu blocks. No need to discuss this propaganda shiet. No one will ever win at this point.

ARTUR FOR PRESIDENT OF ESTONIA
I understand Finland beat Russia in 1939 but technology has progressed so much from then that a war between the two countries would be drastically different than the winter war of 1939.
we are better prepaired for invasion today than in 1939, you know that right?
Russia has 22710 tanks
@@TR-bk1ts You do realize that most of those tanks are in reserve and such numbers cannot physicaly be sustained if a war broke out, right ?

Feels relevant for the times we live
there was now in news about Finnish man who volunteered to ukraine forces as a sniper
That was total fake news. Alledgedly he was 18 or 19, no service in Finland, did "a 6 month course" in Ireland before departing, and of course operates as a sniper. Yeah right...
I felt shame for the journalist who actually wrote and published the story.
Gotta say it sounded a bit weird, but there are A LOT OF private contractor courses these days usually ran by former special forces guys. It could be something like that... 6 months though? Maybe if you take several courses. There were a lot of photos in the article, anyone seen them elsewhere? Would not say it's necessarily fake news, but some of the info might have been a bit off, nothing new when the shit wing of mainstream media is at it 😁
