I feel like my character keeps "bouncing" off the first enemy now. I'll stampede into a pack, the first enemy bounces me off them, then my character runs in a different direction and like 1 or 2 normal monsters die now
Same! The pathing is jank. Sometimes you run right through. Sometimes you get stuck running in place and other times you turn around and run away. Really wish it was more consistent.
I am really enjoying shield charge now, the damage is huge after the changes and you get 1 shot a lot. I am using it also with resonating shield to max my rage in seconds while blocking
This is what I found Stomping Ground+Crushing Blow solved for me (at least so it appears), by enabling my amount of damage/stun to meet the 2-hit threshold between the simultaneous Step and Stomp to trigger an Explosion and then kill that first target. But, this is probably very demanding on your damage/stun output capability. That's also why I mention it's more important to put effort into technique now: you want to always run alongside mobs rather than into them, in case they don't die immediately
Under the Warrior Ascendancy, a bit to the right, there is a node cluster that gives TONS of dmg to enemies that are on low life. The main 2 node there are called Damage against Enemies on Low Life and Stars Aligned. All of the small nodes in the cluster give 45% Increased dmg to enemies on low life. With Hulking form Ascendancy node, of course, for a total pf 340% Increased damage to enemies on low life, if you were to take all those nodes. Wouldn't that help with Overkill dmg ?!
Alks adjustments to focus on just slapping more damage links into stampede with aftershocks does pretty well for clear, but he is more phys/bleed based in his building so it do be a little different.
Armour Explosion isn't completely gutted, but I feel like the Impact Shockwave buff makes Boneshatter the better choice for clear now, especially at higher tier waystones where Armour Explosion damage doesn't cut it. Add Magnified Effect and it's a damn good time.
Does impact shockwave chain off of itself if the shockwave itself heavy stuns another enemy? If it does I'd assume that it's not intended since that's extremely comparable to how Armour Explosion was working and it wasn't intended in it's case.
@@cordenhuman From what I can tell, while the initial shockwave procs new shockwaves from all enemies that are primed for stun, it doesn't seem that those new shockwaves proc any more of them. Even if they did, it's kept in check by the fact that the enemies need to be primed for stun, so I don't think it's unintentional.
I use boneshatter as well especially for hard red maps but I personally still use stampede with links to stun and I mange to make mobs prime for stun. Did you go back to pure leap slam + boneshatter? Or is stampede still in there to move between packs? I guess baked-in stun of leap slam is nice.
@@bawzzzz Stampede is still my go-to opener too. Attack speed on weapon and gloves + Martial Tempo and Overpower supports makes it very good at priming. I didn't test Leap Slam, but I would guess that the inherent total attack time increase would make it feel somewhat clunky in comparison.
The way it works now you have to be absolutely sure NOT to break the armor with anything that isn't the attack with "armour explosion" support. This essentially screws over both warrior ascendancies IF they have the corresponding ascendancy node to facilitate armour breaking without "splinter" or "devastate" supportgems because for both my warbringer and the titans with "crushing impacts" node we frequently see the explosion from the previous mob pre-break the armor of our next target before we get to hit it. In the case of the Titan its less of an issue since from what I can see that's the least popular ascendancy path but armor break is pretty much the core of a melee warbringer.
I would reccomend considering pathing up to the "In Your Face" melee damage cluster, for 4 nodes you get 82% increased damage, a 5th node gives good increased AoE, and there is a jewel socket on the way to it which is really nice.
This cluster only provides *Melee* Damage, so my understanding is it won't apply to Explosions or Stomping Ground at all, even before considering the Close Range requirement. Beyond that, it's not going to affect Hammer either since we're generally not at Close Range when casting that either. I think it's a good wheel, but not for our build
@@cloudcastsmagicmissilethat's fair, yeah armour explosions and stomping ground shouldn't benefit from it, although it shouldn't be too hard to stay in close range when dropping hammer and works well with perfect strike, so for bossing I think it could still be strong but it's true it's conditional and does rather little for mobbing on this build.
Thing is if u fully stun an enemy with the explosion itself it will not apply the armour break status even if u have it for all sources with the passive tree (which i believe to be a bug), so if later u hit them as qell with the main slam from the same atk that procced the armor explosion that stunned them, they will already be stunned when hit, therefore not exploding bc they were already stunned and u cant apply armor break to them with stun until they break out of it and u stun them again (kinda sucks tbh, hope they fix it)
@Mugetsu192 no, the thing is it would work as worded ingame if when u armor break an enemy and it explodes, and then the nearby enemies get stunned by it and u have armor break on stun for all sources (from tree nodes u can get 100%), the surrounding enemies hit by the explosion should get armor broken as well, but not explode since that armor break doesnt come from the supported skill itself. Either that or same thing but for the whole area of the main skill (stampede aoe in this case, but can be for other things as well) depending in the order of dmg application. Neither of those would be wrong according to the wording in the skills and tree nodes. Instead, right now we have the first option, explosion from armor break applies before the aoe of the atk for further enemies, so they get stunned and not armor broken (contrary to what tree nodes state), making it so that u cant armor break with stun until they deplete the stun bar and u fill it again, which for clearing is not something u want Right now for balance i think best thing in case they deem this as a bug and fix it, would be for it to reverse the dmg application order for slam and explosion after the first armor broken mob explodes, since this way the dmg applied after the armor is broken would be fire instead of typically physical (slam), giving it what i believe to be it's intended mechanic: a help for clearing, instead of the main mechanic behind it Edit: this issue is also present in sunder shockwaves and leap slam, among others, so it's either a bug or a very inaccurate wording
hey cloud, just a question. doesn't the elemental focus gem on the stampede slot only enhances the fire damge from the fire infusion and not the explosion from the armor explosion? my logic is that fire infusion converts stampede's inherent physical damage into extra fire damage whereas the explosion from armor explosion is a secondary effect made by the gem and therefore does not get enhanced by the elemental focus gem.
I am absolutely loving the shield charge and resonate shield now. Rage on resonate maxes you out in seconds and shield charge does massive damage. Since bossing in the end is hammer of the gods and shield charge now clear can be what ever. I scale warcries damage empower too and shield charge fully replaced perfect strike for me
Hello Cloud, I need your advise. I still confuse how it fully break amour on your skill tree I only see around 50%+25% break amour. Can u help explain to me more
Hi, Im 87 warrior builded around stampede and weapon swap perfect strike. I just had a confusing interaction yesterday. I was doing a map and found an expedition. In one of the nodes, the monsters had immune to physical damage modifier but since Im using avatar of fire I didnt thought about it and bombed that away but I was suprise that I wasnt able to do a single damage to any mob in that pac. Tooltip of avatar of fire tells me that my damage is converted to fire and I cannot deal other type of damage so am I doing something wrong? I was also always suspecting that my damage is a bit low for the build that Igot from you so I would appreciate if there is some problem that you can explain.
So I got the 5th and 6th Ascendancy points last night. What say my fellow Warriors regarding allocation - 15% Life Buff or Crushing Blows? I feel this may mitigate the nerfed Armor Explosion? Opinions welcomed! 😊 Edit: Just not a fan of Perfect Strike, I miss probably 80% of the time so I ditched it. Probably a skill deficit on my part but it’s frustratingly inaccurate.
@@Marlikust Sure, but remember this work only when get passive node 50% armor break when heavy stunned. If You have this 50% node rarity of monster will matter becuse if attack normal enemy it will be 150% armor break they heave 3x multiplier, then magic 100% break becuse of 2x multiplier rare will have 50%, they dont have any multipier, and will be 100 on this type of enemy rarity when pick additional nodes with increase break chance not neccsesary for clear. Now i create witchhunter stampede but use 15% damage break armor. So heavy stun break work and damage break too.
My only problem with my warrior right now is every other class feels as if it has great chain clear/ fast aoe clear. And warriors only have 1 or 2 options and it really is based on having high level gear
I’ve been building this way with warbringer because I thought that would be best considering their armor break ascendency passives but all the builds like this are for titan. Is warbringer just bad at it? Should I just be focused on totems or warcry?
Hey! very new to poe here, is there any recommendations on leveling? what gems should i focus on + supporter ones and playstyle ? I really enjoy ur videos Keep up
I recommend Boneshatter for clear and Perfect Strike for single target, you get them early on. Begin with priming targets for your Boneshatter with basic strikes, and later you can use Leap Slam as an opener. Check my older vids, I've made brief miniguides to each ability. Beyond that though; while those are pretty safe skill choices and what you should take first, I'd highly recommend using the rest of the gems you find to experiment with everything as you level, so you can determine what you personally like
I've subbed the stun threshold and other things at the bottom of your skill tree to the fire damage nodes to the west and north and I'm still running T16's one shotting everything, maybe fire damage is the move here.
Crushing blows helps stagger enemies much faster since all attacks can heavy stagger when an enemy gets primed, normally only Bone Shatter can heavy stagger primed targets.
@JerryRiverman sure, but you can just use more stunbildup. Any skill can heavy stun without crushing blows. Its literally like few nodes for stunbiildup.
Focus works for all types of skills, but also disables the ability to inflict Ailments (so we can't put it on Perfect Strike or it won't Ignite). Armament works only for weapon-based damage.
GGG: We are fixing the bug of Armor Explosion Me;But Herald of Ice is doing the same with the monk GGG: Yeaahhh technically... but that's fine, just not the Warrior.
Respecced to this and my damage feels abysmal. Even worse than before I made a huge upgrade to my weapon. Not sure what it is that I am missing, but even a perfect strike is doing 10k on mobs. I figured the "clear" tree could at least take on map bosses. (t7)
But You dont have shattering blow on posted passive tree. Did i miss something? And btw. im doing this build ofc, but question, is warbringer with 10% armor breake from damage work same ? or better meyby?
My apologies, I should have clarified the planner has both clearing and bossing trees, you need to use the variant selector to flip between the two. I've updated the description and set the Clearing tree to be the default. I haven't played a Warbringer or even used much flat armor break to begin with, so I can't really speak to how it might function with that node
@cloudcastsmagicmissile Thanks all clear! I think stunt break is kinda better than warrior. Stun by self is some defensive option and offensive on all way possibile.
Just wondering your opinion is the ignite build or bleed build that alkeizer is running better for bossing? Both seem very similar, just wondering if bleeds or ignites are better for bosses?
Not a bad build, but it seems blood magic is mandatory on most builds, and I def dont want to play a build where I have to swap out gems before each boss fight.
@@MrNeestor it wasn't bugged, it basically just bypasses the "primed for stun" phase and takes directly to heavy stuns so you couldn't use boneshatter anymore to mob clear....
Seeing as it is atm I dont know if I should continue leveling my char I dont have any currency yet to equip good im at lvl 50 atm. What can you say if its still possible with almost no gear to continue your build finish the acts and go into maps
If you cant proc the armour explotions, then just use leapslam and boneshatter until you get enough gear/dmg to be able to fully break armour with stampede
Hmm... now that you take Avatar of Fire, maybe Shield Charge+Magma Barrier(-Berserk) can be something. Shield Charge stated that you raise Shield while charging, so it should proc Magma Barrier. Just came to work(I live in asia), so will have to wait 9 hours to test 😂
Sorry to tell you but it does not work :( Not sure why they would update this skill to block but not include Magma Barrier effect on it, though Magma barrier with max quality is only active for 0.75 or 0.7 seconds anyways so it would be a bit clunky. I used to use resonating shield to proc my breaks because stampede felt dangerous and clunky, combined with magma barrier for tankier mobs or bosses it would flamethrower packs that didn't instant die to the armour explosion from resonating shield. I am almost sure it's a mistake that it doesn't work with Magma Barrier because Shield Charge literally verbatim says "Shield is raised and you will block incoming hits" whereas Magma Barrier says "When you raise your shield..."
its kind of annoying based on what I can see other classes are way stronger. warrior is badly balanced. i know this was a bug but it took a lot to actually invest into to get it properly working. now theres nothing that can compete for speed in clearing. bossing is still ok. But i was hoping for something better than continue to spam perfect strike.
Yea warrior is sub par. I just hit 86 on my titan and it was a real struggle just getting to t14 maps currently. Meanwhile my friends are zipping through maps spamming skills and screen clearing before I can get a Sunder off-not exaggerating. My sunders hit nothing when I map w/ my friends.
Are you not block capped? Whats your armor at? I am absolutely steamrolling still. This lessened the clear a bit, but the nerf really hasnt done much to hurt us at all in the way of map viability.
Watching the other classes’s clear speed makes me depressed. No matter the investment it will never be 10% of how fast and safe deadeye or gremling stacking chars will be
in my opinion, the nerf did not make sense, melee in itself right now feel mega bad, looking how they "wanted to make melee good" in poe2, everyone but warrior does good what a warrior should do good
This sadly put the nail in the coffin for my warrior. Dragged my melee ass through the mud just in time to unlock the stampede into crushing blow - for my low gear at least, I am getting only slight increase in map clears than I was doing boneshatter. I’ve started leveling a ranger and already 1 shotting entire packs 2 lvls above me in cruel. I’d say normalizing stampede would be fine if the other classes weren’t still clearing the screens.
Idk mate, it was barely worth it before on not juiced entry maps, especially if bad density closed maps, now it feels like you just dont want to let go a skill, very clunky bad feeling skill.
love seeing when people like you actually credit the people you get inspiration and ideas from, like with the alk tree.

The explosions trigger off heavy stuns, so if you aren't heavy stunning then you aren't dealing enough damage/stun per hit
@ wasn’t the crushing blow passive of the ascension tree bugged or doing some weird interaction with the heavy stuns?
@@MrNeestor This is driving me nuts too, exact setup, no explosion
i figured it out, explicitly select which weapon set to use fixed the issue.
@@MrNeestor it wasn't bugged, it basically just bypasses the "primed for stun" phase and takes directly to heavy stuns so you couldn't use boneshatter anymore to mob clear....
I'm sad. The armour explosions made Warrior so much more fun to play. Now it's back to being sub-par compared to other classes.
cool stuff, thanks!
Seeing as it is atm I dont know if I should continue leveling my char I dont have any currency yet to equip good im at lvl 50 atm. What can you say if its still possible with almost no gear to continue your build finish the acts and go into maps
If you cant proc the armour explotions, then just use leapslam and boneshatter until you get enough gear/dmg to be able to fully break armour with stampede
sunder, hotg carried me to endgame, not good in endgame though
Hmm... now that you take Avatar of Fire, maybe Shield Charge+Magma Barrier(-Berserk) can be something.
Shield Charge stated that you raise Shield while charging, so it should proc Magma Barrier.
Just came to work(I live in asia), so will have to wait 9 hours to test 😂
Sorry to tell you but it does not work :(
Not sure why they would update this skill to block but not include Magma Barrier effect on it, though Magma barrier with max quality is only active for 0.75 or 0.7 seconds anyways so it would be a bit clunky. I used to use resonating shield to proc my breaks because stampede felt dangerous and clunky, combined with magma barrier for tankier mobs or bosses it would flamethrower packs that didn't instant die to the armour explosion from resonating shield.
I am almost sure it's a mistake that it doesn't work with Magma Barrier because Shield Charge literally verbatim says "Shield is raised and you will block incoming hits" whereas Magma Barrier says "When you raise your shield..."
how do yo generate rage in this setup?
his jewels
Allow the enemy to hit you until you have 10+ Rage (Found on Jewels) and also the Totem to Pre-Rage for Bosses.
its kind of annoying based on what I can see other classes are way stronger. warrior is badly balanced. i know this was a bug but it took a lot to actually invest into to get it properly working. now theres nothing that can compete for speed in clearing. bossing is still ok.
I have to change my build. Its not good enough even for my T4 maps. Its too squishy and leaving mobs alive is not helping at all.
It gear i promise you.
Are you not block capped? Whats your armor at? I am absolutely steamrolling still. This lessened the clear a bit, but the nerf really hasnt done much to hurt us at all in the way of map viability.
I'm still fine, if you're on standard you should get some upgrades on your gear
Watching the other classes’s clear speed makes me depressed. No matter the investment it will never be 10% of how fast and safe deadeye or gremling stacking chars will be
If your not having fun clearing at 10% speed some other classes - the answer is right there.
It still works but it's faaar less fun to play
time to change to boneshatter
😢
in my opinion, the nerf did not make sense, melee in itself right now feel mega bad, looking how they "wanted to make melee good" in poe2, everyone but warrior does good what a warrior should do good
technically it was just an F U to all melee players cause they actually had something good for once...
try molten blast w armour explosion, it feels very good with faster projectiles, scattershot, area of effect and atk speed
🤦🏼♂️
This sadly put the nail in the coffin for my warrior. Dragged my melee ass through the mud just in time to unlock the stampede into crushing blow - for my low gear at least, I am getting only slight increase in map clears than I was doing boneshatter. I’ve started leveling a ranger and already 1 shotting entire packs 2 lvls above me in cruel. I’d say normalizing stampede would be fine if the other classes weren’t still clearing the screens.
Titan still clears screens pretty well
Feels much worse now, let's not cope that hard. Herald of Ash is not even close to what Ice and Thunder can do.
I think its dead. xD Did it myself and was so proud of then one time i hop onto the game and im like... Something is wrong lol. RIP armour explosion.
Can we please, ffs get a Dummy in Hideout which we can prep to our wishes to test Damage, debuffs, ailments and everything?
Idk mate, it was barely worth it before on not juiced entry maps, especially if bad density closed maps, now it feels like you just dont want to let go a skill, very clunky bad feeling skill.
Dead build RIP
