    Mom here. We wanted her to interview us afterwards for our final thoughts. Here is my take on my favorites. My true faves she did not video. I loved the fried chicken and the strawberry shortcake from the plaza. Best strawberry shortcake I ever had in my life! Fresh whip cream and berries. She made us eat so much we were full, but my final thoughts: Birria tacos were my favorite QS from DCA and chicken skewer from Bengal Barbecue at DL. Macarons ranking: #1 s’mores, #2 raspberry, #3 Baymax, #4 alien one. Only thing I hated and could not eat at all was the spicy popcorn. Also, I loved DL and DCA so much!

      Aww it's so great to hear from you, fellow mom! I'm a Brit and I love your daughter's videos - we can't afford to come often so I can live the magic through her! She does such a great job (congrats on the retirement BTW - I'm from a family of teachers and school workers and you guys are true heroes!)🥰

      One of my students ordered it from Etsy, but you can turn any celebration pin into a retirement one! Congrats to you! It still doesn't feel real to me.

    I grew up in Southern Cali, and when I visited Disneyland my favorite treat was to go to the little side window that was on the back side of the French Café Orleans, In New Orleans square. They served Mint Juleps that were yummy and Fritters. Oh my goodness they were soooo good and of course only .75 cents. I did eat my fair share before they disappeared, and were replaced with the Beignets. Now I live so far from both my favorite parks Disneyland and Disney World I rely on you to keep me up to snuff on all the goodies. I love when you do videos with your family, thanks for the great video.

    My tip on the churro toffee is to break it up while it's still in the wrapper. You'll make less of a mess and you'll have bite sized pieces to snack on while still in the wrapper. 👍

    When it comes to beignets, you should have went to the Jazz Kitchen at Downtown Disney. They're the closest to what I had in New Orleans.

    I grew up with parents who were picky eaters as well and I believe that’s why I grew up to be a foodie. I was always curious about the different flavors and smells that when I was old enough, I was the first in my family to eat sushi, Indian food, Ethiopian food, etc.
    You can’t compare in-park beignets (New Orleans Square) with ones not in the parks (Port Orleans). It’s not fair since we all know theme park food is mass produced for the most part. A more fair comparison would be Beignets Expressed (Downtown Disney) versus Port Orleans.
    Also, the best corn dogs at Disneyland are actually in DCA at the Corn Dog Castle.

    • @wrightdownmainstreet
      @wrightdownmainstreet  ปีที่แล้ว

      Similar to me! When I moved to Orlando alone I was able to experience so many different foods that I grew up thinking weren’t good just because my family didn’t like them.

    Food looks yummy. If you are a fan of raspberry, I recommend the raspberry coke at Coca Cola corner on Main Street. Mickey waffles at carnation cafe are classic, tigger tails in critter country are good. Character dining I like goofy’s kitchen (breakfast buffet is awesome there with the chilaquiles). Summer time is good for dole whips and Gibson girl ice cream. Depending on what type food you are in the mood for possibly could do Mexican at rancho del Zocalo or tortilla Jo’s for the tableside guacamole service. So many things to list in Disneyland. From what I’ve heard Doritos were invented in Disneyland they have quite the history

    We don't usually eat the beignets, but I believe Disneyland has the better version. The best corn dog ever is in California Aventure at the Corn Dog Castle! Our favorite breakfast is at the Carnation Cafe(make reservations). I usually have the eggs Benedict, and my son gets the adult version of the mickey waffles. The best snack or lunch is Bengal BBQ. And then we always follow up with dinner at Blue Bayou. I'm not sure about the Crystal palace... good chicken. Dessert for me is usually a pickle, but my son is a churro guy through and through. Loved watching you and your family doing Disneyland. My favorite park.

    I did not like the beignets at Disneyland at all. They were cold and tasted like they’d been sitting out for a day. Nothing to it. And the mint julep tasted like drinking lemonade right after brushing your teeth. Not a fan of that stand. But the counter service restaurant next door (French Market) had incredible roasted chicken.
