I saw this movie in the theater, and the lust murder still haunts me to this day. It's one of very few movie scenes of any genre that has made my skin crawl in an incredibly visceral and painful way. Fincher's aesthetic was perfect for this film.

Fun Fact: There was written ending where Somerset and Mills ended up drawing their guns at each over whether or not to kill John. But instead of Mills doing it, Somerset shoots and kills John. Mills in shock would ask "What are you doing?" Somerset would answer "I'm retiring" walking away and dropping his gun.

We knew we had witnessed cinematic brilliance, but we just didn't appreciate fully until we re-watched it. I was reading a film theory of this movie very recently…..and as many times as I’ve seen this since seeing this in the theatre, I never picked up on what this movie IS…..it’s Batman….Morgan Freeman is Batman/ Brad Pitt is Robin/ Kevin Spacey is the Joker…..he ends up toying with and breaking Pitt/ Robin…..the script pulls a lot from Batman-Killing Joke…….
Seeing it in the theatre, I remember how quiet it was as people were leaving during the credits…..how it’s one of those movies where it doesn’t work out…..

Hard to pick a favorite quote in this film, but I'll go with the last line.
"Ernest Hemingway once wrote, 'The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.' I agree with the second part."
    This film is just flawless!!!!
    David frakking Fincher!!!!

that's a fantastic response to not having seen this...I'm a cinephile and I am working my way thru movies I should have seen and haven't. U two have had one of best reactions/reviews I've seen on TH-cam...well done. I saw this film in the theater and it's one of those ones that there is a before and after. It's a short list.

I do not want to sound like a hater, but I genuinely dislike reaction videos. I feel most of those videos are without substance and just people acting way too surprised and not even talking anything about what they are reacting at. I was not actively searching reaction video of se7en, this video got auto played after I watched Chris Stuckmann's se7en review.
Your video changed my perspective, this was not only people acting surprised, it was two smart intelligent men discussing about a movie (that's why I love RedLetterMedia videos so much)
I thank you guys for your reaction, you guys got a new fan.

Mr Andrew Kevin Walker must have had a seriously f**k-up mind to have came up with this movie plot/script. Brilliant directing by Mr David Fincher. One of my personal favourites. Theme certainly something to ponder on for rest of my life. Love this sort of religion themed movie like "The Devil's Advocate" where evil wins in the end!😮😢😅Can't imagine living in a serial killer filled country like the States. Zodiac killer, The Black Daliah, etc... it's just depressingly SAD!!

indeed one the finest diamond films of the 90's. BTW if you enjoyed S7ven, you guys must watch "the Game" from the same director David Fincher (he also directed Zodiac)
I remember the very day I watched the film in theater with my closest friends and walked out in shock with so many questions & thoughts about John Doe's masterplan -which brings up very important dark topics about society that we seem to ignore & be apathic by "because they're common, accepted -even embraced" under the current social construct"

I'll never understand why people who speak fluent English and can hear perfectly well put on the English subtitles which causes you to miss a ton of on screen elements throughout the film.

2:21 Legends of the Fall is GREAT! LOVED Sir Anthony Hopkins in that movie! 25:21 I HATE that all that stuff happened with Kevin Spacey! This movie, along with American Beauty and A Time To Kill made him one of my and my husband's favorite actors. We used to watch House of Cards together but fell off the last season from the sour taste in our mouths. The whole show was tainted.
