Giving a vintage dresser a big makeover

- We found this dresser in Mountain View. It was really beat up and being discarded. I picked it up with very little plan and didn't know what to expect. After already starting some of the repairs, we found that it is a real gem with beautiful walnut veneer. We gave it a little bit of a boho meets mid century modern look in the makeover. This project had a bit of woodworking, some staining, painting, finishing, and a whole lot of sanding. This was a great budget friendly refurbish project. It didn't require expensive tools, and all of the materials were very cheap. And in the end, it turned out to be a great dresser.
Please check out www.movemv.org , without their help, this project wouldn't have been possible.

I like it! What a labor of love!
You crack me up ! I like your easy going vibe; patience is a virtue. Using 'delicate' painters tape keeps you from pulling up paint. Also I've seen others use poly over a taped section including over the tape prior to painting that section.. that somehow not only gives you clean crisp lines, but also keeps from pulling the paint up when you pull the tape off. You did a good job.
Love the video, love the way you solved the issue with broken veneer!
love it! and again, I love your sense of humor.
Just found your channel and I love it! I love the projects you’ve done so far.
Well done you just went with it and made it your own!
Goonie is awesome. Suggestion. Get a set of paint pens to use on small spots like the repairs you made. They come in different sizes and colors. I like the way it turned out. That veneer was absolutely beautiful.
Nice job. You can also use shellac or wax sticks for small repairs. Melt in with a solder iron. Not a fan of the music, but like your work and narration 👍
You crack me up.
Food for thought. Might want to work on your tools. You'd be surprised what a new set of bearings and brushes would do for your old table saw. Your back saw just needs a sanding and cold bluing. If you can find one, there's a nifty little pliers looking tool to set the teeth angle on hand saws.
Yeah I really want to open up my circular saw. It sounds awful now. And I need to fix the cord. I just haven't budgeted the time to do it. I'll probably get around to it soon
I wish you had colored the color palette with black, that would have been chicer
First Time Viewer. I was doing a Lot of Head Shaking while Watching this Video (All the Way Through, I Might add). You Seem to have the Basic Knowledge to do the Job but Maybe not the Experience? Are You Just Starting Out? Your Very Sloppy. You work too Fast and Caused More Damage. Look what You did to that Poor Veneer! You DO Like Restoring Furniture don't You? I'm not sure I'm getting that from You. And then there's Your Aesthetics. That Bottom Drawer Alone. Wow. The Whole Piece Lacked Cohesion and Neatness. But I Think You Realized that at the End. But You are kind of Fun to Watch and if You're a Beginner, It might be Fun to see You Evolve and Improve. I'll Check You Out Again another Time. Thank You.
