I know right!? I use to think the Chicago level was massive but then Liberty City came along and we were all shocked at it's size, even in GTA 3 for the PS2. That was truly mind blowing because we basically came from this to the PS2's rendition of Liberty City. And now we have GTA IV's version of Liberty City... we have come a ways.
Oh believe me, I feel the same way about this game! Imagine how I felt recording this walkthrough (at the time of me making this walkthrough, the last time I had played Undercover mode in full was probably 2004). There is just something about these old games that never wears off. To me, the playability will always be there.

Man, I remember talking to my cousin long time ago, when we used to play this game like all day, and we talked about how awesome could be if the character could not only get out of the car but also shoot the people and other things that could make this game more "Interesting" Now that the years passed and we have lots of games like that I just wanna come back in time and say to myself that Driver 2 is AWESOME the way it is! I miss those days so much... ):
I'll always remember how hard it was to loose the cops in this game (along with Driver1). You could be driving for MILES and still have the original pursuer still tailing you.

Myself, I played Driver 2 first before Driver. I agree, I do tend to like Driver 2 more but Driver is just as an amazing game as this one is. Believe it or not, I also remember reading about this game in Playstation Magazine! I remember at the end of one issue (I think this was Playstation Mag) they showed the different maps of the cities in Driver 2 and the best routes to take for each in-game mission. Good times :).

@@KangasKong9944 Ha! I love when that happens. I had similar experiences with the two Havana missions just before Find The Clue, "Hijack the Truck" and especially "Stop the Truck". I remember being around 12 or 13 and spending multiple weekends replaying those two missions on and off to try and beat them. In the rare (RARE) chance that I would stop the truck, I would never make it to the garage due to the amount of damage the truck already had. Then one morning like magic I woke up and beat Stop the Truck on the first try. Definitely one of those things where I was like "Ok then! Moving on..." and saving the game on the memory card about five times before continuing. Ironically I remember not finding Find the Clue to be too hard. Granted, it did take me many tries, but I think after beating those two missions I felt invincible lol. The next hard mission for me may have been 'Pursue Jericho', but again it paled in comparison to those two missions.

If you mean the in-game song that starts at 4:00, it's an in-game track that's usually referred to as "Chicago Day". You can find the song here on TH-cam.

One major advantage is that you can record yourself playing PS games with FRAPS (a video recorder for the computer... what I use). You can also use save states (really handy if you are stuck on a tough part in the game) instead of having to load from beginning of levels, checkpoints, etc. The disadvantages... wow haha this is tough. I would say that you would need a semi powerful computer to play games on it. I am running a 2.5 ghz with a 512 mb video card and 4 gb of ram.

The black shaded area on the radar eventually leads to a blip where the mission usually ends. On the pause menu, there's a map page that shows the entire city map and where you are in relation to this blip. In this walkthrough (at least in my walkthrough), you never see this map though because I basically have the entire game etched in my head lol. I guess playing this non-stop while waiting for GTA 3 to come out will do that to you.
You press triangle (or up + triangle) on the Playstation controller. If you are using ePSXe or an emulator, then you will have to use whatever keyboard (or gamepad) button triangle is assigned to.
In the beginning of the game, Jericho and Tanner are enemies and are on opposing sides. As the game progresses, both sides realize that they are after one common goal: bring down Pink Lenny. It isn't until Tanner starts working for Solomon Caine in Las Vegas that Jericho starts to see that Tanner is after the same goal that he is after.
epic game :) remember playing it when it first came out,ten years ago i think. the cinematics are amazing,just looking at them now,they are way better then any ps2 game ive played.shame they couldnt do the same with the in game graphics but still,doesnt change a thing,great game.cant wait for the new one to be realesed on xbox,jericho is still the bollocks in it ! haha
The guy in the long trench coat with the black tie is Jericho. Looking at Jericho's sidekick in the cutscene, I have no idea who that is... He is probably an unnamed character.

you know what I like about this game? That you don't have other cars honking at you every 2 seconds like on gta. Even if you are driving at the correct speed on the correct side of the road on gta you constantly and I mean constantly hear cars honking at you.
Hey THEKILLERBULLDOG, yes you can buy the PS1 disks and play them off of a Playstation 2 Console. Playstation 1 games work flawlessly on Playstation 2 consoles.
This is my only flaw with this channel it has sooo many videos of driver i wish there were videos of other PS1 games other than this although i love listing to the soundtracks NGP has
If you do decide to buy it, since PSX games are harder to come by today, I would most likely try either pawn shops or looking around online on sites like Amazon or eBay. Actually, I did a quick search on Amazon and I found that you can get a brand new copy of Driver 2 (still sealed) for just 6 bucks! That's a steal!!
If I remember correctly, I think this happened to me too. It might be something with the graphics plugin not recognizing that screen or something. Truthfully, you're better off just using the save state feature in ePSXe (that's what I do whenever I save games in ePSXe).
Haha DMSOG, yea I played this game on my PS3 too one night and I was like "What the hell am I playing?" But as you mentioned it is still an impressive game from the time period.
@mike24157 make sure you don't have any police chasing you at the time or you won't be able to get out of the car. other than that just press triangle to get out.
Hey, I have pne question - I have my both discs of Driver2 which I bought many years ago and I used to play it on my PSX. I wanted to play it again, but my PSX doesn't work anymore, so I wanted to play it on my PC - I have ePSXe - everything is fine, but I have one problem - I can't save the game - everytime I go to the save screen I get only black screen, but I can hear the sound of selecting options, like it is in menu - but I don't see anything. That happens also on load screen. What to do?
@NostalgiaGamesProd with the time travel they should make like a thing where you could be the age you were at that time but if you want to just go way back change the setting to present age then time travel.

Yes it is. If you have regular Playstation memory card, you can save your data via the PSX memory card as normal from the PS2.

The witness is the man that Tanner and Tobias finally capture at the end of Mission 3 in Chicago. They catch him on the L train trying to escape.

Its funny how these early PS1 games have cutscene graphics that are much ahead of their time, yet they never incoporated them into their games.
