actual castles. like massive, stone keep castles, with full city walls letting you make small inner and outer keeps with a city built around the castle.
I live in Italy and I studied Roman and medieval archeology at university. I can say that the organization of medieval cities was much more chaotic and spontaneous than many of the cities seen in the video. Obviously even at the time the game is set (XIV century) they tried to rationalize the spaces, but it wasn't always possible to do it in the best way for many reasons. Everyone has their own way of playing, but honestly I prefer playing Manor Lords thinking about how it could really be a real city of the time.
The thing I love: all of this is possible. You just need to build one church, one marketplace and one tavern. Houses can be in one corner, everything else in the other.
Not to be pedantic, but the settlement at 3:03 is Greifswald (one can even still see the areas depicted in the drawing to this day) in Mecklenburg (North Germany) not Bavaria (South Germany). Similarly, the Bavarian duchy was not majorly involved in the Ostsiedlung, which Manor Lord uses as its setting. The Ostsiedlung being a large influx of German settlers into the areas right of the Elbe river over a longer period of time.
@@TheTerminatorGaming Yeah, it just irked me that a place between Stralsund and Wolgast was attributed to Bavaria. Good one you for showcasing awesome Manor Lord builds, though.

How do they manage to get the houses 100% efficiency. I build a house 5 meters away from the market and it already keeps missing food and fuel constantly, it's so annoying
The key is to keep the granary and storehouses fully staffed, and make sure those two buildings have a monopoly on the markets. I know some countries have no history and the children at school learn that the world begins with the founding of their own country. These square layout grids, almost perfect circle villages, funny triangle fields... This is not typical for an Еuropean settlement from the 14th-century and it don't look realistic at all. @@patrickkelly6691 Yeah will be so magnificent picture inside ML this theme. Already a mod about visit mode with Gandalf the White has shown up on mod pages and looks so cool later we might see boromir or faramir or isildur ..or talented modders reskin the medieval history knights to high elves of Lindon - Noldor units or Gondorians or Arnor or Uruk Hai and Mordor would be so amazing until we see more updated ML vrs with more stuff in and we may see after LOTR overhauls inculding Middle Earth Regions
Love the showcase! Thanks for sharing! Ps WTF is with the POPS?! lol. Surely it's just POP! Pretty sure everyone says 'population' and not 'populations' lol. Just sayin :p Still, great vid besides my pedantic OCD trigger! haha

This looks like Medieval Communism
They aren't building anything stop lying
Bought an Xbox just for this game just to find out "xbox game pass" didn't mean console
Before someone builds winterfell
Of course players will use an open sandbox to create unrealistic places and these are fun but not what the game was designed for.
I love this game but it’s in no way a Total War killer from what I have experienced, unfortunately.
DAMN!
bro... i aint gon lie i thought the 50% off was a scam but phuk it i spent my $20 and lemme tell you its legit go get your copy before they arent running the deal anymore thank you soo much for providing the site for us to use now i can play manor lords without spending $40
Gotta say not one of them looks like a city they’re just big villages small towns until we get city dwellings and Architecture. This of course is Manor lords not city lords.
Did you know they didn’t have churches like that in the time setting for this games they were more like huts. Quite interesting
Grid in medieval town? 😂😂 No.
STILL WAITING ON THE CONSOLE VERSION 🤓
Boof it
😀
Please please learn to pronounce the German city names properly. Listening to you and Americans in general saying them makes my ears bleed. Definitely some nice towns though.
Weird critique.. dudes a TH-camr not a linguistics professor… don’t be that guy who polices other people’s way of pronouncing things makes you come off as a bit of an ass hat who sniffs his own farts
Symmetrical cities are ugly, sorry
AS IT CURRENTLY STANDS the game is a total bore fest once you get into it, until the place marker content is added it will be that way.
can we please get ships and actual large rivers to move around in and have ai cities we can raid or trade with and bigger map i know its in early access but if they could implement this into it that would make this game incredible
