    Why would you subtract the 0.85% NaCl solution from the absorbance values if you are using it as the blank? Could you not just zero out the spectrophotometer with the 0.85% blank? If so, would it not just be the absorbance of the sample tube divided by the absorbance of the negative control tube, multiplied by 100?

      Hi. The blank being used here is plain 0.85% NaCl without blood. Meanwhile for the equation, the absorbance being deducted is from the supernatant of the 0.85% NaCl tube with blood. Please check out this video for the demonstration: th-cam.com/video/NWn3gpXnS1k/w-d-xo.html
