Forza Motorsport needed 2 years in development with dedicated car people, real mechanics/engineers consultation into the sound engineering of each car. These non car people feel that all V12s are created equal. And that’s just the sound; we could go on about the missing content.
How has Ferrari not sued Turn10 yet for having the same sound for Lambos and Ferraris lol

@@sierrasymone7590 Gran Turismo isn't a single game, it's a series. Back in the days of GT4-GT6, Gran Turismo was well known to have bad car sounds especially for V8s which they just couldn't get right.

I dont know man, seems like we have come full circle in terms of quality, love me the HP sounds of the Zonda, Carrera GT and other Porsches, Gallardo, Sesto Elemento and the Eggs, they are really good

Hopefully one day they will actually build something from the ground up, delete everything they have right now and make a completely new game, no cars or tracks recycled from 10+ years old games, maybe a new physics, I've seen people saying FM23 uses a completely new physics but i must be doing something wrong because for me it feels like the same old physics with minor updates, stock road cars feels better but could be just a new tune on sway bars and Diff

You're not wrong about the physics engine. It's the same as FM7, just with the extra processing power. It's actually worse than that of horizon 4 and 5, lacking horizon 5's breaking system and sound (although they should have gone back further with that), and all the bugs they fixed in both the new horizon releases, including the infamous sim twitch. If you want more info, go watch spei's video.

@@alaric0257 yeah, not every time they make a new game, but once every decade or so, at the moment there's a lot of old content that's as old as the franchise itself, poorly designed tracks and cars that look horrible, the old content just doesn't match the latest content made using laser scanning, it would mean less cars but I wouldn't mind losing some content to improve across the board, having less cars could be a chance to fix the balance of the game, the fact The fact that the Touring and GT lobby have the vehicle pre-modified already indicates that they know that the PI balance does not work

GT7 used a Murcielago owned by Supercars of London by the way (even though it now sounds straight piped). Meanwhile Forza didn't even bother at one point

FM5 was peak Forza. Career, multi-player, the backgrounds were still beautifully rendered. I play FM8 on gamepass, for free, cus it's not worth investing in anymore.
And to think a remastered nfs game from 2011 has better car sounds than a "built from the ground up" forza motorsport game.
The problem isn't the sound itself, the sound on its own is good, the problem is the repetition of it

A decade ago, Forza was known for its great sounding cars and GT for it’s vacuum simulation. Now they are not even close to GT in every aspect.
So sad to see the decline of a once great game series, played the hell out of Forza Motorsport 3 and 4. But thats what you get for letting non-car people develop a racing game.

I grinded so hard to get the murcielago in fm, its my favorite car. Forza motorsport was already on testing my patience at that point due to its well documented problems and issues. As soon as I got in it and started driving it and found out that it had the same sound as the Aventador and that the studio had just copied and pasted its engine sound, I uninstalled the game and havent been on since

Whats crazy is, like you pointed out, some cars do sound pretty good. The '95 GT2 Porsche sounds pretty sick with a race trans/fully built.
But then you got cars like the lambos, which are all identical. Oh and cars like the Shelby GT350 sounding like absolute trash. I had to quit driving it, because no exhaust/intake could fix the god awful sound it was making. When in real life, it's one of the best sounding v8s lol. Like maybe top 3, along with the e46 m3.
It really is embarrassing that one of the top complaints are the car sounds and they haven't done a thing to fix the problem. im mean come on thats one of the main reasons we love playing racing games. is the fact we can enjoy the presences and detail and the beauty and the sounds of cars we may never get to experience in person. But forzas response lets just fix one of the car sounds to hopefully shut people up so then we can just add a crap load more cars in the next game to such a stupid amount that no ones going to be able to drive all of them. Then just to have the same problems in the next game of all the same copy and paste / same issues of previous games. I really miss when we had games that had like 100 or 200 cars because we still got unique and accurate engine sounds for each car plus ontop of that we also got a pretty good amount of customizaion for a good bit of the different cars as well. And im sorry this is a long comment but im just so tired of the cash grabs and the low amount of effort in games today.
I regret buying Forza Motorsport at day 1 and should buy Crew Motorfest instead of that shit ....

Same engine doesn't mean they're sounding 1:1. Since everyone of those manufacturer have their own "sound designer", exhaust systems. This is a shame, lazy ass mofos at turn 10

I played a lot of forza motorsport and horizon...but I felt that something was not right with the engine sounds...well I bought The Crew Motorfest and said "damm so forza make the engine sounds to garbage and copy and paste"

That good ol Xbox game studios inherenting EA corporate greed practices and giving the bare minimum. Crackdown 3 going from revolutionary in concept to a complete downgrade from its predecessors, forcing Gear's story to keep going to get ever drop off cash that Epic set the series up for, and Halo the same thing as the former milking Bungie's acclaimed work on that name with the removal of split screen and a whole lot of heart missing. Every game following Forza Motorsport 3 has just been copy and paste.
Yet EA/Codemasters games have some of the best vehicle sounds currently
Turn 10 has been a disgrace ever since the sunset of FM4. Dan Greenawalt is long overdue to be taken out to pasture
I been watching a lot 2005 forza motorsport gameplay lately and played the new one as well turn 10 studios kind of degraded the series a bit in my opinion.
Nowadays it's all quantity over quality. 20 years ago the audience for games was much smaller and the studios had to deliver high quality games.
