My husband saved Altoids tins, and other small containers like this. I hesitated to throw them out when he passed, and I'm glad I didn't! I've used them for home/ office storage for small items, but now I'm gonna fill those babies up!😂 Any additions for prepping is a plus!
Also, just a thought, if you can make up some kits like this, might be good barter items or to give to the folks that are in need/ homeless.

These are some great small mini kits. one thing I think you should change is on your fishing kit, put smaller hooks in the kit, you can always catch a big fish on a small hook, but you can't usually catch a small fish on a big hook. Better to be able to catch a bunch of small fish if that is all there are where you fish, than no fish because the hooks are to big. Maybe try and fit in a small pack of plastic grubs, maggot size, as opposed to one larger rubber lure for the same reason as the smaller hooks. A lot of good ideas here. Really like and enjoy your videos and content.
How does that make sense when a small hook can get straightened out much easier
The fishing kit can use 3-4 tiny eye screws for rod rings. They make casting farther easier, and it can act as a cleat for 'reeling' in line.
If you have a fat knife hammer a block of wood in the inside of the tin.
the outward bulge helps. Also former dollar stores have a 2 pack of lockable containers that can hold a deck and a half of cards. They're clear-ish and in 6 to 8 colors for quick kit identification.

You can purchase magnesium pencil sharpeners relatively cheap. Dual use by scraping filings from it to start fires.

Cheers JR I have a few tins of various sizes even an old WW2 tin which I turned into a survival tin it is amazing as to how much stuff one can put in a tin if they try lol. I think one of my tins has a clear plastic raincoat in it as you never see people add some sort of cover or shelter in a tin stay safe.
You can always use a champagne or wine bottle cork as a bobber that will fit inside of the Altoids tin

Try Magnesium pencil sharpeners instead of simple "metal" pencil sharpeners. The magnesium can be scraped/shaved to assist in fire starting.
I've seen ranger bands made from old bike tubes used on those to be more water resistant and to keep it closed there also good for keeping things that you scavag tied to it

Keep your bug out bag or bug home bag in your trunk or your vehicle somewhere because no matter where you are if you're at home if you're at work if you're at the grocery store in town if you're at a friend's house you always have it with you

I watch quite a few cop channel videos and I can honestly say, many of the addicts busted have pretty compact, their version of a, "survival" kit. 😜 Seriously some of them fit everything into small containers where the average person wouldn't be able to duplicate. (Not the drug paraphernalia) 🤔

Dont store batteries in the flshlight. I have a small ziplock bag . Like the sandwhich bags but screws and nails came in the so i repurposed it to hold a AAA battery in case it likes it doesnt damge anything else in the kit. Tge tiny sandwhich bags come in all sorts of packages. Basically any product you buy from a box store will have them.
Store the triple a battery in the small plastic bag inside the tin. Yoi can have 2 seperate bags for each battery.
I just picked up a 4 pack of individual alcohol pads for about $7. I think there are 100/box.

Having a backpack is frowned upon now? The tape can be used for fire lighting, I used an escape and evasion kit like the tin back in 1980 but with different contents, please don't do the water dance again it made me feel ill, used to have kit in webbing belt also.
