You did a good job Larry. Glad you gotter fixed. Aggravating how somethings are designed. But you got it working.

Thank you for the video! Do you know what to do if the transmission lever will not move at all ? At the transmission, I cannot move the shifter out of 4HI. I just topped off to the correct level. Any advice ?

This particular Gator has issues that I think are the result of some poor engineering. I am not an expert by no means on the machine and have a mechanic from my John Deere dealership that advises me on mine and the issues I have with it and what to do. Sorry I cannot be of any help.

How many hours did this take you? Dealer wants $700 to replace mine and 1 other broken part. Seems like a lot of work

It took me a couple of days, all day long with all the taking off and putting back on. Doable but not a real easy task. Thanks for watching.

Ty, unfortunately I have the s4 version, so more seats and floorboards to remove

It is a pain but doable.

changing the second one on mine now. Deere has a single cable fix for this issue but wants $1200. for it. I love my Gator but probably will not buy Deere products again because of issues like this

Had 3 clutches on mine also. Poor engineering.

Good morning sir. Nice video. I changed mine this weekend and I noticed you don’t have the cup holders removed. I can on mine. Makes it a whole lot easier plus I tapped up the ends from the old one to the new one and pulled the cables down behind the large forward compartment. Have a good day.

On one cable I had to tie a piece of string on the old one being removed, then I tied the string back on the new one and pulled it back up.

These things are a crap box. We have one and the head gaskets blew before 100 hrs. By 200 hours 2 e brake cables have broken, 2 shift cables have replaced due to they freeze all winter. Clutch is junk, won't disengage unless you shut it off. It never gets worked hard. Mostly carry tool box to projects, get the mail ect. A real disappointment. John Deere should be embarrassed.

Yes, Deere has already put two clutches in mine. Would not buy this model if I knew what I know now.
