    We need an option to turn internet data on/off for specific apps separately, like they have in iPhone.

    • @carson9903
      @carson9903 7 ปีที่แล้ว +41

      YES! Omg I can't believe this isn't even implemented yet. The "data saver" feature in Nougat is practically useless. Every time I want to play a game offline, on the go, I have to disable data just so it doesn't connect to the internet. But then I won't receive background notifications (ie. emails, etc.) which is really annoying.

    • @fantasytky28
      @fantasytky28 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Keval Khara ya agree. such useful and important feature don't get implemented and all these not so important things are used lol

    • @GuneetAtwal1996
      @GuneetAtwal1996 7 ปีที่แล้ว +72

      actually you can do that in android , you can turn background data off for specific apps and this feature was there in android for years.

    • @fantasytky28
      @fantasytky28 7 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      Guneet Atwal that feature is so Damn useless. What we need is data off for specific app and android can't even do that. For example, both wifi and data are on when watching TH-cam and wifi suddenly disconnected and u didn't realize it, your data is probably gone

    • @GuneetAtwal1996
      @GuneetAtwal1996 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      well i never use mobile data as i am mostly connected to WiFi but i guess that feature can be achieved by third party apps (although it should be incorporated in the OS itself).

    Meanwhile, I'm on Android 5.1. Google makes all of these great features but most people don't have the opportunity to experience them.

    • @fantasytky28
      @fantasytky28 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      TheTechPerson I'm on lollipop too but these are not really some great features......it's just some change on notification panels or setting and some other things.......important feature like disable data for specific apps dot get implemented lol.
      the data saver on android is basically useless ,it did nothing.

    • @TheTechPerson
      @TheTechPerson 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Fantasytky I agree. They are not mind blowing but it would be nice to have these. And anyway, they already spent there time making this, so why should almost no one experience it? iOS 10 also wasn't huge but most people have it.

    • @ronaldofilho86
      @ronaldofilho86 7 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Only because they are lazy and don't try AOSP on their old phones! I'm on a LG G2, 2013, Stock Android 5.0. Using Android 7.0.2 with LineageOS! And don't tell me most ppl don't got the skills to do it. I didn't, all I had to do was learn, probably something most ppl are not familiar with, they just want things ready and working, well, then go for an iPhone and replace it every year!!

    • @Masteraal
      @Masteraal 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      it's why I ditched Samsung and moved to the Nexus line. was sick of waiting for the manufacturers to get updates through.

    • @moltenbullet
      @moltenbullet 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Other than that some hardware may be incompatible with some of the software updates, you must realise that one key reason to omit older devices is so that consumers continue to buy the newer devices. They're well aware that they've created some great phones in the past. But they don't want you to stick to those, because it's much better for them, and the economy, if you bought a new device every year, while chasing the latest and greatest feature sets.

      Most Android updates were inspired by the modding community if you didn't know yet. So that's why the same community has been dying in the past few years since there's no more need to mod the phones nowadays

    • @Carbon_Based_Life_Form
      @Carbon_Based_Life_Form 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My Reviews every google update originated from mods, you didn't realize this? Now people can get these feature stock without having to flash roms. You people are a bit moronic

    • @vgamesx1
      @vgamesx1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No need to mod? What..? There are still tons of features/mods that Android doesn't add, they only take a handful of some of the most useful ones...
      For example, with 2k and 4k screens being a lot more common these days, I'd like very much like an easy way to change the resolution to 720p or 1080p to save battery and get better performance in games, because I think anything beyond that is useless and so far the only phone I know of a handful of phones that let you do that out of the box such as the LG G6.

    • @Abzan92
      @Abzan92 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @janelliz Did you even think about what video you're commenting on? We're talking a whole new OS update here, not one brand, so no one cares what other phones already have, all of them would have it in the update

    • @janelliz
      @janelliz 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Gabriel Cheinquer you can calm down. I was just stating some brands already allow that to happen. I own a Samsung so that's why I then stated at least Samsung's do for sure because I don't know for sure that other phones do.
      ✌️

    • @BlasterBuilder
      @BlasterBuilder 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use Windows 10 Mobile, so when I turn on the dark theme, it applies to every single thing on my phone, just like it does on my PC - the Start menu, every built-in app, every app from the Windows Store except Facebook. And it all looks fantastic, especially on the AMOLED display with its deep blacks.
      Meanwhile, Apple has exactly 1 customizable thing on their entire phone (wallpaper)
      And Google has no dark theme still for anything. In fact they insist on combining white and dark sections of the UI, which in my opinion at least looks awful. The light theme on Windows has a soft feel to it with a consistent lightness.
      Another thing is the accent color, the ability to customize the coloration of everything on the phone. Again, on Windows 10, when I choose my pink accent color on my devices, it applies to every single thing on my computers and my phone. This makes Settings, the notifications area, and nearly every third-party app on the Windows Store look cohesive.

    • @AvocadoBondage
      @AvocadoBondage 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      janelliz I mean he commented on a video about the new OS and asks if it has the dark mode back, and your comment about Samsung has nothing to do with his question.

    Hi Marques! I've watched you channel for years and years now. I was around when you had 300K and did the ultimate hackintosh build, and worlds most powerful mac mini. some times back then. I just want to say, I've watched your channel though the years, and the improvement has been amazing. from 1080p, to 4K to 8K and RED cameras, you never stop the push for better quality. And I super respect that. Every detail in the video. every shot, pan, zoom, tilt, focus change, or tilt shift, you do it amazingly. I will never unsub, and I just want to say think you for being a great source for quality tech videos though the years. Keep it up man! Peace!

    Two of then you can use it from Android 4.4, google just merged some feature from some custom ROM. And the setting update doesn't have any feature, they just change the style. So I think the only one update is the "Select text update" and the "notification update".

      You can do it with the System UI Tuner in 7.1.2. There's a whole laundry list of Status Bar tweaks you can play around with to make it as clean or cluttered as you want. But yes, you shouldn't have to necessarily switch it on/off. Personally, I like the cleaner look of not having the number up there.

      Daniele Maglaque, it's not really a downside. What they are doing on IOS is such a downside. They force you onto slower IOS. They be trying to make a 4s run IOS 10 and then they stop updating it. IOS 7 was the fastest but they force you to go on the laggy IOS 10, same on my IPAD 4, it's so laggy on IOS 11, you cannot downgrade to IOS 8,9 when it was super fast, TH-cam LAGS!!!

      That's probably because Google is amazing and made Android to be open-source software under the Apache License (version 2.0), which basically means that anyone in the world is allowed to contribute to the Android project to make it better.
      So when Google sees a company (Samsung) does something really cool with Android, they're like "Oh hey, that's pretty cool! Let's see if we can implement that into stock Android!" Which is probably what's happening here with Android O.
