@@galsteinberg8010 Sadly, they should have taken them from Xiaomi instead. We wouldn't have this back gesture issue otherwise
@@MyurrDurr Xiaomi literally uses pretty much the same layout with going back by swiping from the edges. Unless if you meant OnePlus's.

The difference between Xiaomi and Google's back gesture is that Xiaomi's doesn't cause a hassle for any app with a side menu.
The back gesture only takes up the bottom half of each side of the screen so you can swipe normally to open these menus instead of that stupid hold down and slide for Android 10
@@galsteinberg8010 poor Apple, they took all the gestures from roms/modules developed on XDA for Android devices back around 2013. Please don't ever think Apple innovates anything.

Yes, it was definitely informative, especially for someone like myself who hasn't been staying up with how all the gestures and system upgrades for Android Q. The best? Questionable since this is the first one I've seen today. But definitely a great video and a nice job at explaining in detailed.

Thanks for this video. Installed it earlier today on my P3XL. Interesting enough, I do not have a focus mode.. like anywhere. I went into the digital wellbeing and checked my taskbar but I simply dont have the focus mode you showed.. any idea why?
Okay this is probably a dumb question but I've always wondered why my phone doesn't show my picture or the circle person icon in the notification shade by the settings gear. I just always notice it in the DL videos. Is it because Kellen has multiple accounts on his phone or am I missing something? Also great videos keep up the good work!

The gesture bar just appears on the bottom of the display

I have 10 on my pixel XL and and cannot get picture on Google movies and Amazon video, only audio and captions. Netflix TH-cam and Hulu work fine. Has anyone encountered this issue using the pixel XL?

I absolutely love gestures, especially the back button. So much easier and with the official build it's smoother than ever. They work great.

Nice review. Thanks! Quick note. I use Nova Prime and, as you said the gestures do not work. But you seemed to imply the user would be condemned to the silly shapes. Just wanted to clarify that the two-button nav works perfectly w Nova.
How do you get the weather to show up in the "At a glance" area at the top of the screen. Mine has never worked correctly. I've even gone as far as doing a factory reset on my device and it still didn't fix it. I was hoping this update would resolve that issue. 😥
You have to make sure your location is set to the highest level
@@rogercooke9654 I've looked thru everything in the settings and I'm not finding anything that isn't already enabled or not set to high accuracy. It's possible I'm missing something.

Got the update installed on my OG Pixel XL as soon as it was available. Hopefully it will breathe enough life into the old girl until the 4 comes out. Liking the full gesture controls so far. Though they need to get it functioning better with slide out menus (looking at you Gmail, Google Play, etc).
I know its only bern a day but how's your battery life now vs before did u have issues on the boot up i read some people had issues I have a pixel 2 I was just curious

How do you make a TH-cam video into a smaller box view while multitasking on a pixel 2xl? Not the same as the split screen
It's a TH-cam Premium feature, won't work unless you're subscribed

I've had dark mode for a year on my galaxy note 9 and now my 10+. And kinda funny how the gestures resemble the 2 year old gestures on iphones lol

@Valdrin Cuca In fact Chrome, Gmail, docs. they have dark mode but not yet native, look how to put them in Google

What happened to screen recording?
The back gesture doesn't play well if you have the type of case that is taller around the edges than the screen. I'll be sticking with 2-button navigation.

My pixel 2 xl updated to 10 but the only difference I see is the battery symbol.
are you looking for the navigation changes? you have to go into settings > system > gestures > system navigation > change to "gesture navigation". if you wanna see the dark mode option, swipe down to see your notifications and again to see your little buttons for WiFi and stuff. click the little pencil and you should see a new dark mode button
Dayumm those animations!!😍. Especially the iPhone-like swipe gesture looks so satisfying and lovely. I think I might go for the pixel 4 instead of S10.

@@KasraIsTrying HMD are great at delivering updates so indeed! I mean their older phones from 2017 that were only supposed to get 2 years of updates have been announced to be getting android 10 so that's much better than anything *cough* samsung *cough* is doing

Getting the slide out menus to work with gesture navigation is a pain in the ass.

@@uhh4470 These are essentially the system of the phone, it's what you get while updating, it's safe to use them (it's the official way to update the phone), you can easily find a tutorial :p

It looks like Android 10 won't hit on my OnePlus 7 Pro till late September.
It's been released today... Just install op7 beta1 I only run the betas they're stable as the stable releases never had a problem

The day Android 10 came out I installed it on my Essential Ph1 and it's just amazing. I got the update before any of the Pixel phones did and Samsung will be getting it too but I'll already be on Android 11 before that happens.
