  • The GPD Win Max 2 is a great mix between gaming performance and productivity on the go. I really enjoyed my time with this device and recommend it to those who are looking to work and play on the same device.

I used to take my Thinkpad and my ROG Ally to work and now, all i have to take is this. Its the best purchase ive made in a long time.

I have the win max 2 and completely changed the way i used my tech. My lenovo legion 9i 4090 is collecting dust at this point. I watch movies with this in bed, on the train and have installed a custom steam os to play all my games with quick sleep resume. I don't even want to play games hooked to a desk anymore.

just bought it 3 months ago. easy to take with you out of town while still being able to play games.
To maximize the shoulded buttons, we can make/buy 3D printed comfort grips (lots of designs on the internet) 😊

Excellent job on the review. I always look for channels similar to yours to enjoy content being a casual gamer myself. Humorously, I was skeptical about GPD... I recently returned my Razor 16 inch laptop as I purchased the GPD Win Mini plus G1 Egpu. I was looking to upgrade. I was using an Alienware M17 which I still have but it wasn't portable for my liking. I tried a steamdeck but wasn't happy with it as it didn't run all steam games and to some extent seem limited as I wasn't diverse in Linux. I ended up selling that to pick up an ROG ALLY 1st Gen. Again ok, but without a keyboard Windows just isn't meant for handhelds in my opinion. I sold that one next and then decided to pick up the Razor. There was enough I didn't like about it that like I said made me return it and I stuck with the final purchase in my lineup which was the GPD Win Mini 2024. I've been extremely happy and will be sticking with this Company. It runs everything. With the hand grips it's more ergonomic. I can toss it in my bag for on the go or on breaks at work. Then hook it to the GPD EGPU for my station at home which then resembles a desktop. I do agree that the smaller would be better. Hands down again great review. I almost considered the Win Max but due to the size it was enough to make me question the actual portability, and usability of the device on the go. You got a subscriber, by the way.

Probably has to be a handheld, since you have to hold it in hands to use its controller.

If you just want power in a transportable fashion then yes, laptop is better bang for buck. However if you want smaller footprint with fewer separate things to bring around, that's where the win max 2 and win mini come into play. Really depends what you're looking for. (coming from someone who has owned both the max 2 and mini)
