Hi emma, your videos are so helpful. I have little concern about my baby that she is 10 months old, and she stand in her toes and also try to walk with pusher on toes, is it normal or i need to consult with doctor? I hope you will reply me. Thanks for your useful videos.
Just a reminder to parents that although these items are great recommendations, they're still not necessary! I grew up in a poorer family that DID have toys but not any of these activities (except a ball!) or other item with promised benefits. My siblings and I all hit our milestones on track or early (I started walking at 8 months). Out of ease and frugality, my parents let us play on the floor, at the park, at jungle gyms - all free. My Mom was a HUGE fan of Chuck E. Cheese and McDonald's for their free play places - we would stay there for HOURS. Free water and bathrooms, cheap food at McD (though I wouldn't suggest THAT part now), endless play and social interactions. All to say, you're good.all extra things are extra. If you're watching these kinds of videos, you're clearly a parent who cares, who is/will be attentive, and will spend time with your Babies. Those go way further toward your Babies' growth and development than most any toy.
Now that my baby is 14months, I've realised that A LOT of the toys out there which are supposedly 'perfect' for the development of our babies are actually just marketing jargon and my baby does not really need it! However, If I had to recommend one I would put my money in a push walker! She is so used to pushing it now that she pushes everything she can find in the same way and walks around the house with it....chair...footstool...even a box! 😀It helps to learn to walk for sure! Thank you Emma I love love love your videos! 💜
I totally agree. I got my little one a little wooden push walker, now at 16 months she still uses it as seat, a trolley, a stepping stool and has started to make it her toys pretend pushchair. It's had more use than anything and still played with regularly.
I was literally looking for a new toy for my baby today, but then realized she likes to play with empty water bottles, her dirty laundry, her broom, her books . Pretty anything but her toys..lol
Hi Emma, I love your videos and often refer people to your channel for evidence based advice. My daughter is 7 months old and I was wondering what floor seat/portable chair you would recommend for her.
I don't know how I found my way to this side of TH-cam. I'm not a parent and have no plans to ever be a parent. But...honestly, this is all super interesting anyway!
Don't worry. I'm sure she will discover it soon! For my daughter, it was like a revelation! It took a few weeks, but eventually she got it. And then suddenly, she became super independent. It was beautiful to see! ❤️
Hi Emma. Is it better to have a walker and activity table each or can it be the 2 - 1 option. Many of the walkers can transform into a table but not sure if this is something that's better to be seperate?
@@EmmaHubbard if you could please make a video about baby’s first steps- what we should know, what we should look out for I would appreciate it! Much love ❤️
@@EmmaHubbard very busy lol and I'm working full-time on top of it. But I wouldn't change anything for the world💕 I can always just buy another walker also
So I've not really been able to afford any fancy baby toys or equipment however my girl is managing perfectly fine without them. It makes me feel much better knowing that she's developing just as well without them. I really want to get her the walker though🙈 hopefully I'll be able to soon
There's some nice cheap walkers on Amazon - we have a Pitpat and Radioflyer. The downside of the Pitpat is that it's not heavy enough for baby to pull themselves up with it, but the positive is that it's cheap, really easy to turn once they're able to get up themselves, and comes with a set of blocks! A square laundry basket is an awesome walker too!
I can't afford new toys either but i get them from charity/second hand shops or fb marketplace. I watch videos on montessori because there actually instead of bright and loud plastic toys you can find ideas about educational toys that come naturally in the house and can be equally mesmerising for a baby who just started learning about the world.
Or there are also companies that can lend and exchange toys for a small fee so the toys rotate between children and parents don't have to spend fortune on new toys.
Hi, my boy is almost 12 months and he can’t sit, crawl or stand yet. Doctors said he is ok, but more slow. So it’s very difficult to found good toys, can you recommend something please?
My babe is 6 months... (27 weeks) And doesn't roll at all. She's able to sit without support and leans forward and around while sitting... I'm not sure if I need to be concerned
Rolling over is a skill bubs can learn anywhere from 4-7months. So your little one still has plenty of time to master this. Just continue to offer tummy time and time lying on he back for play each wake window. Try to avoid just putting her in sitting when she is ready for some play time- mix it up with different positions.
@@EmmaHubbard we do tons of tummy time... She also pivots sometimes... But also doesn't bring feet to face... Would this and rolling use the same muscles?
I'm so confused as I've been reading that walkers are very dangerous so wasn't expecting to see them on the list let alone first. Everything you said makes sense but there's so much conflicting information out there
I think you may be confusing baby walkers and push walkers. Baby walkers, where the baby stands in the centre of them with a slung seat between their legs, are dangerous and I don’t ever recommend them. Push walkers, where the baby stands behind them and pushes them along (like the one in the thumbnail of this video) are great and are what I recommend I hope that helps clarify 😀
Different things. Baby walkers where the baby stands in the centre of them are dangerous and banned in many countries. These are push walkers, and operate and are used completely differently
@@EmmaHubbard I watched another person’s video on walkers and they said push walkers are bad too because the baby shifts their weight forwards which is bad for development. It’s so hard to know what’s right and wrong… (Just found it th-cam.com/video/U5j6jKpZIYQ/w-d-xo.html and she talks about it being bad for gait development)
Balance bikes are great for toddlers! They make it so much easier for the child to transition to a pedal bike when they are ready. In this video I was covering toys which are great for babies. But I do love balance bikes for the older kids!
Hi! Sorry if I was confusing. You are right I don't recommend using baby walkers. Baby walkers are very different to baby push walkers. Baby walkers typically have a plastic frame with a slung seat in the middle which the child sits in while they propel the baby walker forward. Generally the child gets the baby walker to move by leaning forward into the slung seat and going onto their tippy toes. A baby push walker is a toy which the child stands behind and pushes along while walking. Baby push walkers are great for a baby's development and building their confidence.

I got the baby gym when my baby was 3 months because I saw in one of your videos the recommendation. She’s almost 12 months and still loves it!
That's so good! Definitely worth purchasing when they enjoy it for so long!

Love the push walker, my 9 month old loves racing through the living room. The only problem is she doesn't know how to turn with the thing.....

Hi Emma. Is there a video of yours that talks about when to drop the bottle, how to transition, and/or bottle alternatives?
Another great video Emma, a walker definitely helped my son walk hers for sure.
Thanks so much! Hope your son is doing well!
Hi! Do you have any tips on wooden activitytables? Or what to look for in a table? (Size and type of activities?) from what age is it suitable? :)
I'm curious what Emma says, but we've just been using our coffee table with toys on it as baby's activity table.
Hi Emma. Is it better to have a walker and activity table each or can it be the 2 - 1 option. Many of the walkers can transform into a table but not sure if this is something that's better to be seperate?

it'll be hard to use our baby push walker for tummy time with my 2 month old because my 1 year old with keep taking it lol
😂. That would be very hard! Your day would be so busy with 2 under 2! If it keeps your 1 year old entertained I would let them have it!

This video makes me think the plastic push walker is better than the wooden light one without the activities
I do like the activity panel on the plastic push walker. They can be used for tummy time, sitting, kneeling and then walking.
My baby is of 15month old he still don’t have a sitting balance he is having developmental delay any suggestions for that please🙏

Hello how would my 6 month old progress into the push walker?
But in the first months can only see in black white
My baby is 14 months old not interested in balls! haha. She loves books and boxes and just about any kind of plastic rubbish (wipes packages )
😂 My little one at that age loved tissue boxes! It's so funny what they enjoy playing with!
