The boat's in good shape but that price is way over the top. Still, looks as though she's been mainly kept in fresh water; if she'd been in the salt, no way she'd look this good!
It's the engines that drove the price up. The man isn't lying when he called it a unicorn. Every houseboat I've ever seen uses a gas engine. I think it's still overpriced but you'd NEVER find one with twin diesel inboards for 19K in this condition.
Wow that's really a sweet deal for someone. Super clean, roomy and those newer engines are a huge plus. You always find the coolest boats to feature and your channel never disappoints. I always look each day to see if there's something new from your channel. You always have cool stuff. That's a nice looking marina too.
The hull is called a wave plaining cathedral hull! Very stable great sea boat I’ve had 3 Wilson flyers with this hull configuration! With a 6 foot beam at 21 foot long you’d think it Would tip or lean when you have 4 big guys onboard but no very stable and will tolerate big seas! With them twin yanmar (which is a marine Yamaha engine!) she will easily do 25 to 30 knots! I’d love that boat biggest cathedral hill I’ve seen! Love the video bud!!!
I like the classic looks of these. See a lot of super large house boats on lake Cumberland. One was like this and completely redone and beautiful inside. As long as the stringers are good and wood has not had water seepage, these can be great little classic livaboards on protected waters. We primarily boat in the Great Lakes so these would not be ideal unless one plans for a lot of no-go days. I am not sure how one would get a BUK value on this and the buyer would have to just determine what they were willing to pay. That old, I would have to bet there may be a lot of soft spots on the roof and cockpit. Nice boat for the right person and the right price.
You have done a Very Good job presenting this. Better than most ! Gets a Thumbs Up !! The video is enjoyable. I have to ask Why anyone would attempt to live on something like this when you could have almost any Aft Cabin cruiser that is actually livable. A 43 Hatteras comes to mind for $50 k in Marina Del Rey. Gotta have the same on the east coast ! You have to.
Only if this gem was for sale 3 years from now (retirement). Something just pulls you to this boat. Not fancy but what a perfect way of living. The fact the boat is a 1993, the year I graduated high school sealed the deal of loving this boat. Hope someone gets this boat and treats her the best.
Re: price of the boat. A. Diesel engines will ALWAYS command a premium in a boat like this. They are almost impossible to find and the price will be affected accordingly. B. The market has been overpriced ever since Covid hit. We are now finally starting to see some downward movement on boat and RV prices but a lot of people that bought their boats 3-5 years ago are still stubbornly trying to get their money back out of them. I'd say over the next 12 months we should see a pretty big market correction on boat and RV pricing.
My grandparents had a early 80s 32ft Holiday Mansion. It took multiple trips to Block Island, Montauk, and Narragansett bay from Watch Hill RI without issue. It was a great boat.
Seems like A LOT of $$$$ for the condition. I can look past some of the cosmetic issues, but all that dirty water in the bilge gives me the willies. Also that counter top in the bathroom with the rotten particle board, guarantee the floors/walls in the bathroom are in similar shape.
1000 hours on 1993 motors? A little "Home Depot" refit and what a deal!! With the price of solar coming down that may be all the electric you need too!! Sweet! Peace --gary
The bilge was freshly cleaned and it's a mess, it looks to have a bunch of oil staining and that 'dirty' water looks to be full of rust, not dust/dirt. The multiple transom leaks are also highly concerning.
I went by that marina when crossing from Fort Meyers to Stuart, and had it as an emergency stop or weather got bad (sailboat) but weather was good and continued but it was a nice area. Hope to do the crossing again westbound in the near future. Nice boat, but find it a bit overpriced. Had a friend that had one, removed the engines, left the genset, and moored for ever at a lake in MD.
That’s exactly what I’m looking to do. I’ve got a property that is waiting for a houseboat to move in looking for one dirt cheap without motors. I’ll just paddle it there if I have to lol.
"Houseboat"with no stateroom just a couple of bunk beds in an are with zero head room. Cant even stan up straight in the bathroom. Out of date electronics and they want $40k over book value? I foresee this one being on the market for a while.

@@Rick_Foley I have eyes with which to see! Holiday Mansion is about top of the line for mass produced houseboat yet the helm is surrounded by ply board made to look like tongue and groove. Railing to left of helm looks like it made from 2x4s. Flooring is vinyl laminate. Overhead radio panel looks to be comprised of luan. My cheap rental house I just left from working on has luan doors. Sliding windows and doors are cheap. Let compare to my house. Real tongue and groove cypress, 1” 80% heart of pine 150 year old reclaimed flooring. Railing of my dock 10 coats epiphanies on Sapelle. My boat is older than this houseboat. Teak center console, teak forward hatch cover. Chrome over bronze bow chock. Screws are bronze or 316 stainless. Inside sidewall covers are varnished mahogany. 1971 Outrage by far superior and older. How is that for facts backing up an opinion versus one who cannot see what is in front of them

Looking for a Itty Bitty myself
A bit “long in the the tooth” for that price. Someone is going to take over the maintenance that hasn’t been fully done.
Seems a bit overpriced. I'm not an expert.
Maybe that's the owner's way of saying he really doesn't want to sell it.
$35k
Are the Horns inside!?! or those just sitting there waiting to be installed outside?
I think just waiting to be installed

Not bad for an old boat. A little pricey compared to other 30 year old live aboards.
