- Imagine the challenge of moving an entire house from one location to another-the fixtures, walls, and roof all in tact-through a major city, over a mountain, or even across a lake! These are some of the challenges specialised moving teams and engineers routinely face in Massive Moves.
Whether it’s moving an historic home from an eroding cliff, relocating from a noisy industrial pig farm, or divorcing couples sawing their home in half to split ownership, no problem is too big for these teams

They should call this show "People With More Money Than Sense"
Lol yea these f tards got nothing better to do than indulge themselves while children out there with chronic diseases could of used that money.
Just like Oceangate! LOL
I agree.
Exactly
They had the sense enough to build their dream. I'd bet money you are broke and are just salty that there are people out in the world who are genuinely happy. "Misery loves company." I bet you lose your mind when Elon Musk successfully launches a rocket. Probably jerk off to Bernie Sanders speeches. Lol
Neighbours lost their view and sunlight in one afternoon.
That looks like their old house.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
no they moved their old one and put this one there
I guess that they should have gotten the lot on the end.
The neighbor beside them just lost their beautiful view down the river. What a bummer for them.
Seattle, nobody cares about anybody else.
that neighbour was there old house
😪
@@PiliaeAlno, they moved their old house out.
Well, narcissists don't care about things like neighbors.
I know... It is way too big to be docked there.
The way he said "sunroom" and they both giggled makes me think somthing happened in the "sunroom"...lol!!!
They should have a trap door so they can fish right in the “living room”.
Kitchen would be better. Not so far to walk!
The naval architect was superb with his calculation. Great team work
Did you not watch the whole video ?
dude he was like way tf off lolol
They just absolutely shit on that poor little red house 😂🤬
I'm sure this has to be the best architectural house boat ever built!
Congratulations ⚘️ 🎊 👏 😊
They should have made a dry dock, built the house in it, then floated it out.
a dry dock needs to be moored along the canal and canal dock space is limited and thus a lot more expensive than building it on land.
If it's what you like and you can afford it. You really do only live once. It is an amazing feat of design and engineering. Very impressive and beautiful! As Always, May God Bless you and yours! 😇
Absolutely spectacular and SO lovely! The owners vision, the engineers and movers skills just stupendous work! And an elevator! Awww, to lose the swimming pool was a compromise for sure yet worth the results! I am a ‘water baby’ (born and raised coastal California) and this would be a dream! Every time I view this massive project, I smh in amazement and excitement! Great work everyone!❤️🤗
That is an absolutely beautiful home... All involved have done an amazing job.
Thank you
What a crazy vanity project haha. Really? A pool when you are living on a lake
Should have just turned it into a hot tub.
Believe it or not some people have ambition, taste, and money. Unlike you...
@@Tina-mt9cl hahaha okay Tina. Keep projecting. What a dorky thing to say, you sound like an angry 12 year old haha. Grow up
Building the house on the water would've solved a lot
I was wondering if anyone else was thinking this….🤨🤔
but it would have made the project more complicated because being on the water would only give access to the exterior from one side, making it hard to work on the other 3 areas outside the house. Material storage would be more difficult too, having only dock-side available. And there is cost to consider. Taking up a dock space to build the house on water is a lot more expensive than building it on land.
@@silentepsilon888 Build in a dry dock
@@9TDF... you heard the part where it was explained that the builder owns the shipyard and land on which the house was initially built, right? So that means he has the space available already. Furthermore, there is a lot more space available on land compared to along a river because a dry dock needs to be docked alongside land on the river and having a dry dock take up mooring space for as long as it took to build that house is not very practical. Also, a dry-dock is a bathtub and everything, materials and equipment have to be lowered into that tub so you need a crane or other equipment to move every item, especially larger and heavier ones, down into that tub.
@@silentepsilon888
I was merely refereeing to building on the water a dry dock would have the advantage of building on land minus that complex transfer and maybe minus deleting the pool unless it was build on stilts like it was for the counter balance.
I love this , just clean entertainment with no weird stuff . I genuinely appreciate this . 🙏🏾
WHAT AN AMAZING JOB! ....Not the perfect location for me, but cheers to them, if that's what they dreamed of!
i ❤ how many times they demonstrate the many different ways the house can be destroyed in the computer comps! 🤣🤣
Millionaire hoarders almost sink their big floating home with all their stuff. So they build a giant floating home to accommodate the weight of their "collections". Then have to pump tons of concrete into it to make it float right. The way these people waste money is painful to watch.
I agree. and the house is ugly as.
their money , their choice
@@jean-yvesmartin6934 well waste of money and shit taste LOL
All man power and mental. Great job guys. Tough job all around
The interior woodwork is very beautiful.
well done patty and mike, brilliant, beautiful
The interior woodwork is Beautiful !
Reminds of that Monty Python skit about a man that built a castle in a swamp 'just to show em!' 😂
Yep fourth castle made it !!!
It worked here though didn't it? I think it turned out great and went very smoothly all things considered.
Congratulations to them. Looks like every room has amazing light.
To all the future good times in your floating home!
They should’ve just put the fucking Pool in wth 🤦♂️
The things people can accomplish are mind blowing sometimes!
That's wild, massive house on land, so doing it in water it's a a big feat,
Good for you guys, that life doesn't come cheap.
You clearly worked yr ass off to get to where you are
Mahalo.
Supercool! I'd love to see the inside when it's done. I do feel sorry for the houseboat who just got it's view ruined tho.
I'd love to see you and Whitney Webb tackle a few current subjects. She's intelligent and articulate. I think it would make a wonderful podcast.
I gotta hand it to Mike he built a super beautiful house and for the price he paid it's worth every dime . So congratulations to you Mike and Pat Sherlock 💯❤️😇🙏🙌💪✌️😎😃👋👍👑
This is truly amazing
First time to see video like this ! thank you for sharing
That was incredible to watch.
Outstanding ding job to everyone involved..
Saw this houseboat listed on Zillow just recently! It really is fantastic inside!!
So happy for you guys
That’s a badass rigging crew and operators
First time seeing of your videos. There’s a lot of fun being had with the computer program that shows the boat breaking up.
Hearing traffic all day must be lovely 😅😅😂😂
That’s awesome.
Shes A Big GIRL! That Is Awesome 💯
thank you for posting this i have liked and subscribed
Most of these people are smart. They do it for tax reasons!! It’s a boat !! It’s not taxed like a home ! It’s taxed like a boat !!
You still need millions to build something like that so he's wealthy to begin with. I don't think it was all about taxes. He prefers to live on the water.
@@kchididdy well yes obviously. But housing in that area is expensive anyway.
Amazing hopefully it all works out for them Amazing house
*Excellent videos to watch no doubt with that*
wow. this is insane! nice work
Awesomeness ❤
Great job on moving it into water
Awesome!
That’s a really great life enjoy and spread the Love
I'll tell you what those dudes run in those cranes running those boats running. All that are some pretty awesome. People to be able to do the things they do, it's pretty cool.
Running you say?
Wtf are you trying to say? That is a lot of running.
I would think every one involved deserves a 20 k bonus. That was beyond huge. I think if they built the base, floated it, and then done the house would have been much better. Just my 2 cents on a 2.5 million question.
HAVE A HAPPY LIFE YOU 2
Brilliant
Amazing
Wow that's amazing
Congratulations, Enjoy!
I wonder where their other floating home moved to. After watching the move, I was thinking of adding more floats to the heavier end. It looked heavier on one end than the other before it went into the water as the third story was on one side. I'm also wondering if there was a size restraint that you couldn't exceed because I would have made the float wider so that you could walk around it and to give it more stability. Beautiful home and such a commanding location.
They had to build it to fit the spot they already had, those are hard to come by.
Just wow ❤
Second approach: build the house where it was going to be,
did you see how little access there was all around the house? how will be get access to the outside of the house when it is in water? How can he store materials with a narrow floating dock alongside only? where do trucks come to deliver materials? Logistics would not work to build it in the final location. Besides, it took 2 years to build and they were still living in their old house in that location while the new one was being built.
Beautiful houseboat ❤
Wow I love it, it’s so huge & beautiful. Enjoy 😉
Awesome from a technical view but weird in any other regard.
This house is so sick! It reminds me of the Weasley's burrow.
What a fascinating lifestyle. A bit bold but why not? No telling what I would if I had that kind of money. I do enjoy seeing how people that do have do what they want with it.
this is the first floating house I've seen with an actual hull instead of just being constructed on a steel frame attached to a bunch of logs. wonder why you don't see more like this. the log platforms basically have to be rebuilt every ten years.
Probably the cost id think.
Modern log floats last more like 70 years. And individual logs can be replaced as necessary. Also, don't forget that a steel hull is subject to rust. Most steel hulls are repainted more often than ever ten years. What a chore that's going to be here!
@@briangodfrey7424 oh to be clear this particular design seems really over the top to me. I'm thinking more in terms of steel or aluminum pontoons.
@@0xKruzr Logs that meet the building code (yes, there is one for floating homes) will probably outlast steel or aluminum pontoons. Or the metal ones will need to be removed every so often and repainted, fasteners replaced, etc. At least that would be easier than repainting this one single large float! But if there are stray currents, galvanic corrosion can really shorten the life a lot. I had an aluminum boat once that spent two years in a marina where there were a lot of small fishing boats - some of which probably had improperly installed electronics. When I hauled it the pitting was severe.
As for the overall design sense of this house. Well, it is huge, but aside from that it is unique. And that is one of the wonderful things about floating homes: no two are alike.
@@briangodfrey7424 Lake union is fresh water so probably alot more than 10 years til they need to repaint. You can get alotta years on marine grade paint but it's around $200/gallon.
What a great ideas! I would like to stay with you!

I went to college in Seattle & for the 15 yrs. I lived there I ALWAYS dreamed of living in the floating homes on Lake Washington (by the university) & Lake Union. Seattle might not be heaven, but it's in the same zip code!
I wouldn't dare live under a bridge given the state of our broken and rundown infrastructure in this Country... Also with barges and ships "accidentally" hitting bridges is becoming more common recently.
As an experienced yacht builder.. l would have thought it better to add flotation at the heavier end rather than ADD weight to replace the empty pool, unless the house is too top heavy... then the original design was not well planned. . ⚓⛵👊
"when we get old" < should someone tell him? lol
Watching this makes me mis Seattle more.
A beautiful home
This is engineering on an epic scale.
I live in Seattle wow beautiful home
They should build like a lock canal system to build these types of houses in so they are easy to move. when completed you just fill up the lock with water
Awesome
Pure gorgeous ❤
Cool! I want one!
Their credit line is huge and they got great insurance. They are connected for sure. They weren't sweating it at all...
Way cool project, wonder what the budget was on this build.
Thats pretty cool.
Awesomeness 😎
"Mike was a fisherman"
Then I'm in the wrong business.
A buncha my friends in Bellingham used to go up to Alaska and fish in the summers back in the 90s. 3 months of work and they'd snowboard the rest of the year. Those were the days. The money ain't there in that business anymore.
$2 million is A LOT, however, given the location I bet that's the price of a small apartment in the area. I wish them the best and hope they have many years of enjoyment.
i think it is very cool
Mantap bagus banget rumahnya smga,shat2aj bu,paand sukses slu y pa,Bu Slam dari indoesia
4500 sq.ft floating garbage barge we all gotta look at.....we need more shore zoning regulations to prevent these eyesores.
What else are we looking at? They got the money for it. Let them do it lol.
love the house i feel bad for the people beside them.
Congratulations
When you're that rich, you can do just about anything... but why in the hell would you want park that thing and live underneath a bridge? All that noise....
Think I would have liked if they used some bigger tug boats like they use for ships just to be on the safe side.
I've been lucky enough to live on two house boats & there's nothing quite like it..Would do it again in a heartbeat...At sixty-five..Arrrr
Just looked it up, and The Aurora sold in 2022 for $3.6 million. Have yet to find why they sold it, but they originally were asking $4.3 million in 2020.
Consider what the value of that location is (assuming they own some sort of equity in that location) they likely broke even.
So, basically, they built an extravagant boat house the size of my property and spent $2.5M doing it just to turn around and sell it forward at a break-even price. The stupidity in that is priceless. smh 🤦
@@roddyg3692 If you call making over a million dollars stupidity then I've got a house under a bridge to sell ya.
WOW!!!!
First thought I had was the scene from the animated movie "UP!"
That was about the hardest way you could possibly design, build and relocate a simple houseboat. What were you earlier in your life a garbage collector?
Well here’s another TITANIC STORY😂🤣
So for real it probably has a life time of 40 years, hey if they built it to enjoy each other then good for them.
lifting belts did a lot of damage to gutters on both sides of the home
