Similar electric loco designs existed in India in the early 70s era. Thanks for taking me back in time.
Beautiful Locomotives.. I have seen One here in Bombay, India.. Named as Sir Leslie Wilson.. It was used for Shutting wagons. Was Blue and White originally, now it's in the museum and coloured Black..

See the thrashing side rods on the three locomotives. Reminds me of steam, even the shrill,squeaky whistles.
When I was a child I had a Marklin HO gauge setup. The krokodil was one of the ones in the catalog that I coveted.
Weren't these made from the teens through the 20's ? If so, it's amazing how durable they must be.

How does that locomotive to take the curves ?.
Electric motors, gears, rods and wheels seem to be mounted in a single fixed set.
The modern locomotives have their electric traction motors mounted on the boogies, with a gear attacking directly to the wheel axle, but the Krokodile has the engines well above the wheels ..
How does the whole traction set to adapt to the curves?

Sehr schöne Aufnahmen. Warum sind einige braun, und andere grün ? Und was ist der Unterschied zwischen dem Ce 6/8 und dem Be 6/8 Krokodil ?
Genau genommen müsste man auch noch die Bauformen II und III unterscheiden.
Grossbuchstabe C bedeutet Höchstgeschwindkeit 65 km/h ( e = elektrischer Antrieb), B = 75 km/h, Bauform II = Blindwellenantrieb (wie Arnold-Krokodil), III = Winterthurer Schrägantrieb (wie Minitrix-Krokodil). Die zuerst erschienenen Krokodile der Bauform II wurden später umgebaut und wurden daher aus Ce 6/8 II zu Be 6/8 II. In den 1920er Jahren waren die Elloks der SBB braun, ab den 1930er Jahren grün (die braunen Loks ergrünten erst bei Revisionen).
Bei der Bauform III bin ich mir nicht sicher, ob die am Anfang auch nur Höchstgeschwindigkeit 65 hatten...
Fuhr die auch im Planbetrieb vor Personenzügen? Und wie hoch bitte war die Vmax?
Vmax: je nachdem 65 oder 75 km/h
Gebaut wurde es als reine Güterzugslokomotive, entsprechend fehlte auch die Spannungsversorgung für die Zugsheizung. Allerdings gab es Krokodile, wo die Spannungsversorgung für die Zugsheizung nachgerüstet wurde und somit auch Personenzüge ziehen konnte.
