That moment you realize Hyundai are starting to put more quality in their vehicles than Honda...
You seriously need to try some Google ad sensing Kevin. Your contact downright trumps some big screen reviewers out there.

This guy doesn't know what he's talking about! Hyundai's are not reliable, or have improved their quality in fact the new vehicles are the worst, then the older models. Go on Consumer Affairs Website under Hyundai, and you will see people have issues with engines seizing on the highway, catching fire, quality control issues with the interiors, etc.

The Hyundai Elantra surprised me when I was test driving vehicles. I went out to test drive expecting the Toyota Corolla or Honda Fit to blow most options I looked at out of the water - I wasn't even seriously looking at the Elantra, and it's what I ended up taking home. I test drove the VW Passat 2.0 Turbo, 2020 Corolla 1.8, 2020 Nissan Sentra 2.0L and Hyundai Venue 1.6L and the Elantra blew all of them out of the water...at at the lowest price of them all. Driving it to work with combined highway/city driving and I am averaging 37.1 mpg.

My wife has a 2013 Elantra and it's fun to drive and gets 40+ mpg when I baby the gas pedal and has a ton of features for a cheap price. She also leased a 2017 Hyundai Sonata and that car is also packed with features, super on gas, is peppy and rides great. At a relatively low price. Very impressed with what Hyundai has done.

Just acquired one of these 2020 Elantras, black with the alloy wheels. I'm very impressed with how eager the motor and trans are on the twistys. Combined with it's light weight and tight steering, it's a lot of fun to drive to and from work. The CVT is so good, I forget it's a CVT when in sport mode or shifting ratios. Also, the stereo is full sounding, not harsh- a welcome feature in a base level car.

I bought the 2020 Elantra SE and the transmission was replaced in May at around 6k miles. I’m just under 13k miles and my Elantra is in the shop because of its transmission again.
Outside of the transmission, the car is great but in 2020 the lack of automatic headlights is ridiculous. If I’m not mistake, 2019 Elantra SE had Apple car play but the 2020 Elantra SE doesn’t and it costs you more money. Smooth ride though when mine isn’t jerking all over the road.

It was rated at 38 hiway, but barely got 36 on it each time i took it for a long drive. With the CVT am sure I’ll get better mileage. I made 400 mile roundtrips back then. Yes so I just bought my 2020 Elantra on Saturday cost well under $18,000 but also well over 17,000 which isn't bad at all for a car like this and how it drives is incredible I'd say and I really do like how the ivt functions in this car like it feels very very convincing in the amount of miles I get per gallon are also super super incredible as well I think my car averages 37.4 miles per gallon which is great especially because I have to drive 2 hour distances to work and back depending on where the job is at one thing I'm noticing that I don't find too good in this could be just from my car particularly is that when I put it in park and keep the handbrake up I've noticed the car likes to get stuck after letting off the handbrake and trying to move the vehicle like it'll still lock up not sure why it does that but hopefully it doesn't continuously do that but other than that every bit about this car is amazing and then issue with that locking up after using the handbrake I think is only an issue with my vehicle personally as well so I don't have any complaints about this car whatsoever in a general stance

I love my Elantra and it has given me great service and has lasted longer than I expected. But after 18 years of use it has taken its toll. The front brakes need to be replaced. There is a hole in the flexpipe. There is also a fluid leak of some kind. The cost of repairs no doubt will be greater than the value of the car
I'm a freelancer and COVID-19 has severely impacted my business and income. What should I do? Should I make repairs? I know it will be costly but it will be cheaper than getting a newer car. Of course, it is likely that there will be a need for further repairs in the future for a car that old with that many miles. If you recommend that I get a newer vehicle, should I lease or get a used 2019 with very low miles so that it is still covered by the bumper to bumper warranty? Are bumper to bumper still 3yr/36K miles?
Any suggestions would be most appreciative. Thanks!

I have the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Value Edition. I love it! Great on gas. Love the tech features. And my year model comes with an 8-way Power Driver Seat. They took that feature out on the '18-'20 Value Editions. But I will say that I don't like the 2019-2020 front end design. The triangular lights looks like a Pokemon character. Then the triangular turn signals in the front-end is just too obsessive. Now I do like the rear-end. Just disappointed with the design. My '17 Elantra gives me Audi/baby Genesis vibe with the front-end. My local Dealership tries to get me to upgrade to a new 2020 model, but I refuse to let mines go. I rather upgrade for the Forte EX or GT. But I will be waiting for the 2021 Hyundai Elantra release. If it looks better than the current model, then I might consider a trade-in.

So I have a 2020 Elantra, bought with only the delivery/ test drive miles on it (between 8- 12 at most) in Jan 2021. Everything was great untill it reached 3000 miles around March (I live about 25 miles from work + drive to the city for cancer dr appts)...It started doing a rattle/shudder/ kick at low speeds and then surging/ missing at higher speeds. Thought it was being sluggish due to needing oil changed. So oil changed, car still doing this. Tried fuel treatment, thought maybe I got some crappy gas. Nope. Still doing it. Took it to dealer. They tell me Hyundai tells techs to drive a new car off the lot and see if it does what customer is complaining about. They claim new car does the same thing and it must be how the cars shift due to changes in the engine for the model year. I'm about ready to shove the car up the dealer's ass because it's just getting worse. It is constantly rattling, kicking, surging, and missing and just driving like shit. My advise? Buy a Chevy. I was raised in a Chevy family and I don't know why the fuck I strayed. As soon as I can, I'm trading this POS for a Chevy Idon'tgiveadamnwhat.
