I purchased in June 2024 this variant car and after 3000 km (1864 miles) in Romania, I have the following consumption: Average consumption: 37 MPG (60% in the city and 40% outside the city); Highway: 43 MPG; Out of town/ long distance; 56MPG; Conclusion: it is a practical, roomy and economical car, only good for family drivers, but also for young people due to its slightly aggressive look
I recently bought a Sentra and I love it. If you haven't driven a "compact" sedan lately you might be surprised. They are basically the same size as a mid sized sedan from 15 or 20 years ago. I saw one of these Elantras the other day and in that red it's a really sharp looking car.
Hi Matt. Congrats on another great review. I love your low key style of just one old friend speaking to another old friend and passing along information. For me it’s the perfect formula. I hope you never change your informal style. Regards
Great review Matt! My buddy bought one of these down in FL a couple months back, he really likes it. Mostly a Highway commuter for work, reports 43mpg.
Love the affordable reviews. With the crazy prices out there, this is a really viable option for consumers. I can't wait to see the K4 get to dealers as that would be my option.
This is a great value IMO. I currently have a 2014 Jetta and am considering this and the current Jetta as a replacement. I think they’re both the best values on the market at the moment.
Bought the Same color Hyundai Blue Elantra, absolutely love it. Averaging about 50MPG , And if i want more power shift into sport mode....plenty of pep. Love it so far!
That giant passenger handle is Hyundai admitting that the low price appeals to sketchy and inexperienced drivers. Parents can hold on while teaching their teens. 😂
I loved my Elantra n line, only got rid of it due to honestly just needing awd. Minnesota up north near Fargo is not always friendly with how they sometimes plow. Love the review!
Assuming your friend’s car is equipped with the 2.0 engine and the 6 speed automatic, the refreshed Elantra has better fuel economy since it’s equipped with ivt transmission (CVT).
I was just hoping you would be doing more affordable cars. I’m considering the N Line as a little more fun option but it is a great value with a great warranty
The little fake shift is a nice touch. I think people are clamoring for more basic vehicles these days given the rates and ballooning prices. The rear looks very sharp!
The car does what it aims to do very well. One thing i wish theyd stop doing is putting all those body lines in the side profile. When i sold cars we'd sell these used occasionally and from a glance people often thought it was in an accident
The N version really transforms it, so aside from a similar view from the drivers seat (visibility, surroundings etc) this doesn't drive anything like the N.
I know this is off topic for this video (It was a great video as usual by the way) but did you guys happen to request a tesla to ccs adapter for your Mustang Mach-E?
Does anyone have particular experience with the CVT transmissions on the Hyundais over the Nissan CVTs? I personally want to avoid CVTs altogether and been looking at the Mazdas, being they still use standard, 6-speed geared transmissions. I've stayed away from Nissan because of the horror stories of their CVTs shitting the bed and the fact they're all made in Mexico these days.
One of the roomiest sedans I’ve ever driven. Honestly there is more legroom in this than my 18 Camry 😂. Very comfortable commuter and the 2.0 and 1.6 NA engine are pretty reliable don’t know about the turbocharged ones. It’s that big handle on the passenger side that narrows the leg space for the passenger is a deal breaker for me and the A/C is lacking in my opinion.
The engine specs seem a little soft.. it’s actually lost power and torque over the previous model? The torque seems a little too low for this size car, a bit of luggage and a few passengers and it won’t like it too much
I love that this car exists, but I personally paid a few grand extra and got the Mazda 3 hatchback. Way nicer inside and out for a little bit more money.
Looks like 2 bots commenting. Comments make no sense and the avatar picture is the same and inappropriate. I love reviews like this, though. Affordable, nice, non-ev, vehicles. And WTF is Hyundai doing with that atrocious key design. I was hoping it would disappear, but Hyundai seems to be doubling down. Imagine paying $60k+ for a futuristic looking beautiful Ioniq 6 and getting a key that looks like a happy meal toy from the 90s.
This is a very compelling car BUT it should be leased only, partly because they are being stolen like no tomorrow, plus reliability is a big question mark, much better off with a Mazda 3 or a Corolla
Ugh don't forget about telling people about the kia boys gang that has made these cars insurance bill double....not so cheap....i have a 21 and wish I stayed away....great gas milage tho lol

Honestly we need more options for decent cheap cars like these, good stuff!

Great review and coverage of the details, thanks Matt! Glad to see reviews of more affordable cars!
Thanks!

Congrats on your new Sentra!

I like these newer Elantras
Great review Matt! My buddy bought one of these down in FL a couple months back, he really likes it. Mostly a Highway commuter for work, reports 43mpg.
Thanks, and that's very impressive fuel economy, thanks for sharing!
2024 Hyundai Elanta SEL Convenience Pkg trim is the way to go for value! You also get ambient lighting and a sunroof on that trim as well.
And 17" wheels and heated seats 😎
I test drove the Elantra N Line with the manual a couple of years ago. Was pretty fun and gave me a great impression on the Elantra. Great review!
Thanks!

Hyundai in Canada is charging the same as Toyota and Honda. Nothing affordable about car sales in Canada right now.
Just bought this car same color! I love it and it's my first new car purchase. I have always bought used cars. 600 mile on it started with 28miles
Nice review Matt & I should buy this car soon.

Lol!

Did you do something different with your recording? Your Mic sounded different
Yeah for the first driving segment my main mic failed so I had to use the one on my road view camera instead, which isn't as good.
I'm waiting with bated breath for the Kia K4, specifically that weirdly enticing hatch version.
My friend has a 2023 Elantra, and I believe his does about the same fuel economy as the 2024 Elantra
Same engines that's why.
Assuming your friend’s car is equipped with the 2.0 engine and the 6 speed automatic, the refreshed Elantra has better fuel economy since it’s equipped with ivt transmission (CVT).
@@RPD91my aunt 2021 and my 2023 limited have the ivt. The hybrid has a 6 speed
I remember being impressed by the previous gen Elantra's interior. Time will tell if these GDI motors hold up.
Nice car and nice review Matt.
Thanks!
But can they start it with USB? How much is the insurance.....
I was just hoping you would be doing more affordable cars. I’m considering the N Line as a little more fun option but it is a great value with a great warranty
The N Line I reviewed a couple years ago was great!
The Elantra hybrid limited comes with cooled seats
The little fake shift is a nice touch. I think people are clamoring for more basic vehicles these days given the rates and ballooning prices. The rear looks very sharp!
The car does what it aims to do very well. One thing i wish theyd stop doing is putting all those body lines in the side profile. When i sold cars we'd sell these used occasionally and from a glance people often thought it was in an accident
Karate chop 😂also in the back as well.
A very stylish, symmetrical accident
Does this feel related to the Elantra N at all? Seems like they really differentiated that car from this
The N version really transforms it, so aside from a similar view from the drivers seat (visibility, surroundings etc) this doesn't drive anything like the N.
I know this is off topic for this video (It was a great video as usual by the way) but did you guys happen to request a tesla to ccs adapter for your Mustang Mach-E?
Yeah we did, but ours isn't scheduled to arrive until August.

I like the retro-mod interior
Is it really a good value if it doesn't last very long?
It has a 10 year warranty...

No mention of Subaru Impreza?
It really is only compelling if you want AWD.
I test drove a base se this week. For the same price you can get a Jetta sport much nicer car and fun to drive.
Just here to say "hi"
Clever with the key fob
Isn’t the Kia forte cheaper?
The engine specs seem a little soft.. it’s actually lost power and torque over the previous model? The torque seems a little too low for this size car, a bit of luggage and a few passengers and it won’t like it too much
Hyundai dealers in Canada selling these for 8k above MSRP, Why would I buy a Hyundai at Toyota and Honda Prices?
WHY YOU SAY THE LOWEST PRICED COMPACT SEDAN THEN HAVE A TOP OF THE LINE LIMTED! The cheapest compact sedan and best value is probably the Jetta!
@@italibello hell no, VW are unreliable. It’s definitely cheap but not worth the hassle
Definitely good looking. Seems like it’s taking the mantle from the VW jetta as more stylish / sport option
That’s lower price than the Nissan Sentra?
Yep, just barely!
Is it better than a civic?
Not quite but it’s close
Not in my opinion, but it’s significantly cheaper.
No, since Hyundai decided to get rid of the hatchback option. The civic at least still has it.
@@MattMaranMotoringand significantly less powerful than civic hybrid.
We are getting the Mazda 3 5 doors regardless 🤷♂️
Coming soon as a future Avis rental!
Holy hand gestures, Batman!
Nissan Sentra is the cheapest base price no?
It's $70 more at the time I filmed this at least.
I love that this car exists, but I personally paid a few grand extra and got the Mazda 3 hatchback. Way nicer inside and out for a little bit more money.
Too low..yep, to your ankles?! Guess not for heavy rain areas..😢
Looks ok hopefully it can't be stolen by a usb
New Hyundais now have the anti theft stuff built in and for older models an update was provided.
Lamborghini front end

Absolutely ridiculous right? There's no way youtube can't filter out the bots. I refuse to believe otherwise.
Can these still be stolen easily ?
No, that's been fixed.
Not quite as good as the Civic but it completely obliterates the uncompetitive Corolla that’s ostensibly nonexistent
You're living in a fairy tale world. Look at sales numbers, for once in your life.
@@sawyermartin4434 sales don’t mean a thing if the car itself isn’t very good
they are all compact now days.. little plastic toy cars

Cheaper than the Nissan Versa!?
Versa is a sub-compact.
This is a nice car but they don't age well, i would never buy one!
Ugh don't forget about telling people about the kia boys gang that has made these cars insurance bill double....not so cheap....i have a 21 and wish I stayed away....great gas milage tho lol
It was my understanding that they fixed that.
@@MattMaranMotoring Yes they did and they offer a update for older cars.
They tried too hard, I think it's ugly.
