- The longest range class gets to use the longest range weapon! Seems to make sense to me.
Detailed class guide and gameplay for Brotato 1.0 on max difficulty, including the unique mechanics, best build, and tips for this class. This run features a cool legendary!
Wave 11 has been my bane for a while now. I try to build so much damage that I end up getting one-shot. When building survivability, I don't do enough damage to kill the mobs. It's a fine line. Thank you for your guides. Practically carrying me on your shoulders.
Yeah for sure, wave 11 is the one I die on most often as well. If there's characters that you're having a lot of problems with it on, honestly my suggestion is to just reroll your waves until you have a horde or no wave 11 boss. Wave 11 elites are *much* harder than wave 12+ imo
@Cephalopocalypse Thanks for the help! I didn't know that.
Got an amazing run going to Wave 18 just now and I had forgotten I'd taken (stupid moment) Blood Donation when I picked Wierd Ghost. Insta-dead and I'm not even mad. Playing on mobile and I don't view items as much as I should but it's usually never a problem.
After 2/3 failed attempts, i went with thief dagger and got so much more money (almost 3000 materials more after wave 20). A massive help for this character who struggles with economy otherwise, 800/900 materials in the mid/late waves instead of barely 400.
I was so frustrated with getting the Hunter Danger 5... I died dozens of times trying things out. I watch your video and the next run, wave 29.
The way you explain things is concise but deep enough that it really helped me focus on the things that were necessary. In this video especially I appreciate how out of your way you were willing to go to pick up HP. That in itself pushed me over the top.
Also, immediately admitting your mistakes is pretty high class.
Hey, thanks so much! Really glad to hear that :D
I don't always manage of course but I think recognizing your mistakes is the best thing you can do to improve
Wow that was intense! Rolling past the glasses like that I was sure the run was doomed at that point
Not the best move but most mistakes are recoverable!
my first hunter d5 win was with a shuriken crit build and i got a hunting trophy on wave 3....
RNG cheered me on that day
I found Hunter to be pretty hard on Danger 5 mostly due to the low HP but I managed it eventually.
In my quest to clear Danger 5 with all classes I made a habit of sacrificing one weapon-slot for a ghost scepter whenever the class struggled with hp to gain a steady supply of extra hp without having to spend all my money on it. I also went with crossbow as my weapon of choice
The single ghost scepter is really powerful - and yeah, the hunter max hp penalty doesn't *seem* like it will be a huge downside, but it's really difficult, and no harvesting makes it harder to mitigate for sure.
i think range is as valuable as ranged damaged because of the scaling of the crossbow. It scales with 10% which means 10 range equals 2 ranged damage if you consider the 50% scaling of ranged damage. Or am i wrong here ?
Nope, you're correct! That does mean the scaling on crossbows is still generally worse than on other ranged weapons though
I will never understand why you rolled past banner. Such a good item.
Banner is normally a pretty weak item, so I probably ignored it out of habit, but you're right that's good for Crossbow Hunter specifically!
I've had the most success on this class by taking the crossbow and going full-on glass cannon. Avoiding max hp, healing, and armor/dodge altogether. Doing this has some caveats however:
Your run basically lives and dies by whether you find the Sharp Bullet (gives you a huge effective dps buff until you can get enough crit to pierce enough), and to a lesser extent the Tardigrade.
Attack speed is by far the best way to improve your damage. Most enemies get one-shot, so increasing your damage per hit does nothing. It's still worth increasing your %damage and ranged damage however, because...
Elites and bosses are by far your most dangerous obstacle. Building in this way means you kill everything before it can touch you (and therefore kill you). You can kill elites in seconds, but that's enough time for them to look in your general direction, which is a frightening prospect indeed!
Yeah, I think the best thing to do is definitely to focus on pure damage for the early game - this character really needs burst to clear through the first elite. After that I like to tank up a little to avoid being one-shot at random if I miss a dodge, but the more damage you have early the better!
Yes! More brotato!!
Yeah! More brotato most days even :D
Will you do the Ranger next?
Sure, I'll add Ranger to the list for next week!
Nice video. I've tried for hours but have been unable to get hunter done on danger 5. I feel like getting good rolls early is sooo important whereas other characters are a lot more forgiving.
Thanks so much! Yeah, hunter is extremely unforgiving - if crossbows are giving you a lot of trouble, it can also be worth trying guns - submachine guns are never bad!
@@Cephalopocalypse So after spending another few hours trying to pull it off, I learned that on mobile, which is what I've been playing on, the targeting system is actually poorly coded and as a result, the crossbows will very often just shoot all 6 shots at just one target instead of shooting at other targets around you too. This makes it so you essentially have no clear early on and makes the crossbow monumentally more difficult to use and imo just straight up unviable. I only started to realize all of this after watching your video and seeing your crossbow is not doing that.
So I bought the game on PC and was able to beat it pretty easily on my first try on danger 5. I can't believe I spent so much time trying to pull it off on mobile and it literally just doesn't work right. Having an actual controller instead of touch controls made an additional world of a difference too. Thanks again for the video
it feels impossible for me... i dont know if its a ipad problem. But all of my crossbows always fire at one. Hitting with all hits just one target.... how can that be? i dont see that anywhere in youtube videos
I want to have fun, so I'm trying thief knife with the hunter and pray to get hunting trophy and tentacle, if got them run is done. if not - have to hustle hard)
so far hunter is one of my best
Cool thing is these videos are evergreen, re-bought brotato for ps5 and now I gotta danger 5 all these weird characters. Thanks for the guides
At this for a couple of days now. No luck rolling, at all.
The bounce and the stomach, fluky as all heck.
This is definitely one of the hardest classes! I think it usually is going to need some luck unfortunately. I believe in you though, you got this!
20:57 Banner!!! Noooooo!!!
Banner is definitely good for this character, but still sometimes worth skipping if you need the lifesteal
wow, did u really reroll ugly tooth? tier S item w/ multiple hit builds. 6:53
Hunter generally doesn't want to spend money on anything that's not damage, especially early - Ugly Tooth is great for some builds, but for this one we really need to boost our damage as high as possible.
i went full shuriken cuz lol ninja! and it was really fun
Also an awesome build, the range I find actually helps shurikens a lot as well since they're very short range by default.
