In the last Brotato video we unlocked the 2 new characters, Hunter and Artificer. Well, we also had 600 Range, 5 Nuclear Launchers and Bouncing on them, but that's aside from the point. Today we play Hunter, the first one in the line-up, who is heavily focused on Crit Chance and Range. To play into that, I decided to go for a Crossbow Only run with no other weapons bought as pivot.

Dex: Complains about lack of pickup range almost every Brotato run.
Also Dex: Absolutely refuses to get pickup range unless it's an expensive legendary.
if you wanna play the xbow, just pick range upgrades, not range damage ones, because it scales much better with just range. I did a run with like 4 range dmg and 500 range, it killed the last boss in seconds
Yea was annoying to see him pass up on range especially on this character.
did you play on danger 5 like he did ?

Dex sees +1 Ranged Damage "Amazing!"
Dex sees +20 Range which gives as much damage as +4 Ranged Damage AND +2% on top of that "That definitely doesn't feel worth it."
+20 range on the crossbows is +2 damage and +2% damage
10% of 20 is 2... basic maths

Nice run Dex. Remember that range, attack speed and piercing combined with a status effect like slow or knockback is essentially free hits. Even if it's doesn't show up in the intial damage calculation. You will able to get several shots off on distant enemies before they even get close.

bandana might not be needed per say, but it helps imo when you got that train of enemies following you it's a bit of help to have than not. lol
I played this same character + crossbow combo last night! I ended up finding 4 purple bandanas and ended up with 5 pierce because my crit chance was 100%. It was awesome! It felt OP
There is a cap on how many materials can be at the same time on the screen. So after that all the materials accumulate in one material on the screen (just like in Vampire Survivors), you can actually see it grow in size if you watch for it.

He has a tendency to do that for some reason, every time he needs to focus on 3 stats or something he just ignores one of them a lot for some reason! It’s like his need for commentary shuts off his brain for a few seconds. He’s very entertaining though! Lol
Dex, you're going through and beating Danger 5 with all of the characters. I'm struggling to beat Danger 0 with all of the characters. Have you thought about putting put a guide on being successful with all the different characters?

5% attack speed +15 range for the cost of -1 armor doesn't seem bad to me so why does everyone say it is?

I think people are too used to range having zero value and armour having high value, when in fact the weaker armour values plus the current swarm enemy situation makes gummy berserker somewhat worth something.
I was just trying this out. Attack speed is really the best once you hit aboit 50% crit... but I would like to see you do a shiv and lighting sword attack speed build. I keep trying but I either get no shiv or swords or no elemental damage so I kill nothing.
Shiv and thumder sword is a very good build indeed. Good luck

I could yea, the "issue" is right now I have a ton of modding ideas and haven't even recorded the Artificer and Sniper weapon run yet, because I went for other things :P

Hi, Dex with the Material its drops to a certain point and then if you kill an enemy it will not drop, but get absorbed by a near one and the icon gets bigger and more shiny.
Tested it on the soldier on wave nine moved 1st to collect at the last 15 seconds to collect and in another run moved in stutters to collect and the amount was nearly the same

You have to play that bursting weapon on old! That will definitely lag the game
im german and call my girlfriend Pupsi. Puspi is the short form the russian word Pupsik which mean "Schatzi" (eng: little treasure) / "Schätzchen" (eng: honey/darling) in German.
Materials pile up in a single one, increasing its value, it doesn't have a HUD for frame rate reasons

The enemies dont stop dropping mats, they drop it always, but the game has a limit of how many can be on the ground so they just stack, if you pay attention you can see the mats growing in size if you dont pick them up.

Not gonna lie TH-cam recommended this video 2x to me already and in finally looking at it I think it was the Blue thumbnail instead of the yellow one.
You can't imagine how valuable this is for me. I am doing A/B tests on around 10 videos right now where thumbnails get switched and I'll try different colors more, thank you!
@@DexTag Avoid red and green text. I'm partially red & green blind and it's the most common form of colorblindness with about 9% of men in Finland having it and I think the next most common is like 1%. Text with those colors just look like a smudge to me. They blur out and look like they are also moving as I move my eyes while reading.
Some youtubers use those a lot and I have even put their channels on "Don't recommend channel" because I don't want to see those thumbnails as I eventually get a headache.

Actually the argument regarding the "hunting trophy" is actually good.
If you don't play a crit build, that item has no value.
And if you are going a crit build, you are winning anyways so the existence of the hunting trophy make no difference in regards of your power.
It was a item for fun. Now is meh even more.
I don't think it's good
View it that way: An item completely busted on elemental builds is negative on any other build (since it costs money but does nothing). This shouldn't be used as a point to argue whether something is good or bad. Now it can of course happen that something is too unique, as in the use case will never happen. But I think given the game has crit interactions on several occassions it's fine. I was rather blown away how something this busted stayed in the game, similar to how I don't understand how Retromations Hoodie gives 2% Attack Speed per Evasion, while also giving Evasion. The downside of defensive stats is that you may lack damage to kill the enemies. This item is like a heaven's gift. You don't even want to take Attack Speed anymore, instead you take Evasion.

I guess if I see an object less often and when I see it, is either useless for that run or I am already op, is not that good.
I guess it is better to be less op but at least I can actually see it more often. This was has a bigger impact, since it can manifest it's presence, with less power but more often.
Bet you couldn't do this on the mobile version.

15 range is 1,5 damage for your crossbow and 1,5% more damage. 1 ranged damage is just 0,5 more damage for your crossbow..
