+Christian Espinoza Haha, well you must have great taste ;-) Thank you my friend, best of luck, I am sure you will get one and love it! Best regards, TGV
The last 10 years I collect watches, including vintage pieces which I really love. These watches have a lot of history behind, but also are wearable. By the way, a few hours ago, I took my Squale 1521 blue sunburst dial with the tropic rubber strap. I love it! I ended my honeymoon with the previous (Christopher Ward C60 Heritage, 38mm) and I started a new with my Squale....
Yes TGV been waiting for this review since you got it!! Having a cup of coffee and a sit down with my 009 while watching TGV what more would I want right now? Good job sir. Hope you are feeling better. Regards
Really great addition to the collection my friend. I particularly love it because it granted me all those straps haha. Can't wait for the Glycine review and I think that blue strap would look awesome with that piece!
This is not really my type of watch but I have to say it's a lovely looking piece....goes very well with all sorts of colour straps which can dramatically change its look. Pretty sure your wife would also like to stea...err...borrow this watch from you. Great review as always...would not have watched a Tudor review until the end by any other reviewer!
TGV, I am a young watch lover and currently am in the process of building up a respectable collection. My first luxury watch was the Gucci Automatic, but this video and some of the others about Tudors inspired me to get the new Tudor Day-Date gold/steel with gold dial for my birthday. Love the videos!
Fantastic piece and a great bargain. That linen dial is sublime and it is really set off by the bezel. If it were bigger than 35mm I'd be shopping for one right now. I'm one of those people who'd rather spend the money on a Sub than a datejust or daydate so this affordable offering from Tudor hits the sweet spot.
That bezel is beautiful! The size is perfect and that design is pretty dressy, casual and timeless. You could wear that watch for the rest of your life without looking dated. Congrats
tgv just bought (3 Months ago) a two tone datejust ref 16013 from 1984 from our friend Archie and I am really over the moon with it since its a wish come true so I understand your feelings towards this new piece of yours congrats!
TGV......came across your channel by accident......loving it. I have very similar tastes I own a Omega Seamaster Professional & Rolex Submariner and use Floris, Geo Trumpers and Penhaligons......now working my way through your posts......great work, keep it coming.
I bought the date-day with original bracelet in last October. It's a very beautiful watch! When I showed it to my dad, I had to give it to him because he liked it so much. I have to find a new one for me :)
What a beautiful watch TGV!! I have been looking at these for some time now...dependable, doesnt cost a fortune to service and of course amazing quality! Great vid as always friend!
Greetings from Germany, I discovered your channel about half a year ago and you got me into horology. Thanks to you I'm going to get a squale 1545 as my first automatic. Just as reference I'm 19 years old.
+The Urban Gentry I have been fine, thank you. I am very glad to see that you have recovered well from hospital and doing great. I have been very busy with schoolwork recently as I have my GCSE exams just around the corner, hence my lack of comments. But I still to carve out time to watch your videos. The Tudor has started to make me feel like getting the two tone Seiko 5 model for myself lol! I also plan on getting a Hamilton Khaki King as a reward for my exams, what are your thoughts? Sorry for the long reply! Hope all is well and good, Chris.
TGV watching your videos changed my views on watches. My father only have 4 rolex, 2 Omega and one seiko. I only knew those brands. Learned about watches and which styles i prefer the most which is drivers. Wish you the best
Hi TGV, love this video like many others. Thanks for your great work! I do own a Tudor Date+Date too, in all-silver and smooth bezel, aesthetically more my thing but fundamentally the same watch (ref 94500). I find the 35mm very misleading though. I have a 36mm DateJust which looks smaller than the Tudor. I'm afraid you do have some facts wrong in this film, really stuff that I did nor know until recently, so no sweat at all. For example: Rolex transitioned from plexi to sapphire throughout the 80ies, they did it gradually and model per model. Tudor came next and kept plexis until 1995, the year of my watch. So there are many watches out there is great condition from the nineties that have a great vintage feeling to them. And while BigBlock will cost you 4-5 grand, there are some really good models in that spot. Keep up the good work! Benjamin
Love my all stainless Jubilee Datejust from '87. Owned it since new. The hands, appointments on the face, etc. are the same as yours. I enjoy the acrylic on mine instead of sapphire a) because of the domed profile, and b) because it is fun to polish the scratches out of it and see it shine with clarity again. Very satisfying :)
Just bought a Tudor D/D 94613 on jubilee- Thanks to this video and the group's recommendations - Same linen background and everything. Will post into the group as soon as I get it! Cheers!
You talk about Rolex markings being replaced with Tudor markings in the early '90's. However my '95 Tudor Prince Oysterdate 74000 has rolex markings on the crown and rear. Is this something that begins from the late '90's when Tudor came into its own?
Very cool little watch! Turns out we both share the same birth year... I've been kind of looking around for a vintage watch in my birth year too... you've found a good one!
Love my Price Date, bought on eBay, it’s stainless from same period but does have a sapphire crystal and has been refinished. It is definitely one of my favorites.
Absolutely stunning pieces. And if I might suggest an idea for a video: I think you and I might both agree that reading is a sophistication of a true gentleman. What would be, say, your top 5 or 6 suggestions of books that are essential reading for a gentleman? Keep up the fantastic work. Cheers!
I've been waiting for this, love that strap it just totally works. You are looking so much better now mate, onwards and upwards on the road to recovery.
Congratulations on 30k! It's been incredible to see your channel grow. I'm a fairly recent subscriber (1-2 months) and you've climbed a huge amount since then. Keep it up TGV.
I have an Rollex Oyster Sub Mariner as a result of knowing my late father had a Tudor Oyster Bristol..4453 His watch has been serviced in the past but currently it is not in running order. I have tried (possibly not hard enough) to look up the watch with (to date) no success. Would you be able to shed some light on the watch and is it really worth fixing? I would like to give it to my son. I have the original box and guarantee certificate as well as the Patent informatin card as well.
Would putting an aftermarket "Rolex" signed bracelet on one of these be acceptable? I'm not sure of two things: 1. Did the 80s Tudors have Rolex or Tudor signed bracelet? And 2. Is aftermarket ok, or does it have to be an original bracelet? (I can't find an original) Also, the Princedate I'm looking at has a listed diameter of 34mm. Do the prince dates and the prince day dates differ by one millimeter?
In my opinion the day-date complication in a dress watch gives that little bit more of elegance. The design of the case really stands out, in fact in the "dress watch competition giveaway" I was sure it was a Rolex Day-Date. Great review and amazing watch, TGV. Best regards, Michele.
Perfect Timing! just as I walk in from work I get a notification for your video lol. Great video, I don't think I'm a gold watch type of guy (at least not at this point in time) however a gold vintage with the patina and slight imperfection is appealing to me, I was window shopping some old Omegas a few weeks back. Love the patina and the "dated" font. Absolutely lovely watch and glad you're enjoying it. You seem more vibrant and energized which is great news! I'll be waiting the review on that python strap with bated breath, I have a feeling it will go splendid with my newly acquired Seiko Cocktail! -Mawi
+Ethiopianraver YESSSSS Seiko cocktail on a python strap!! I think it could work too!!! Thanks for the great comment, I must say I wasn't much of a gold watch guy but Its growing on me, maybe I'm getting old! Best regards, TGV
Need this watch never spent more than £300 on a watch. Only worry is the glass scared it's gonna break easy would like to wear it a far bit unsure on wether to pull the trigger 🙈 great vid as always fell in love with watches since discovering your channel
Hi tgv, hope you are well, superb intro, great review, it's funny because even though i love vintage pieces i don't actually own one, hmmmm that may change lol, all the best my friend Ryan.
Question: the Tudor Prince Oysterdate 72033 sold by Jomashop has the ROLEX logo on its crown-screw. Is it not genuine then ? Has that crown-screw been added to it later ? Can anyone answer this?
Awesome stuff TGV! I just got a 1982 Tudor prince oysterdate in stainless steel with a silver dial which has a stunning champagne tinge to it. With the original Rolex bracelet. The size is perfect for my wrists. I paid a fair whack for it but it is absolutely mint with the original paperwork and receipt from Bond Street in 1982! Enjoy the watch, I love mine so far. Yours looks fantastic, I think they are a great buy at the moment especially compared to Rolex of the era. Enjoy and hope your starting to feel better.
+Josh Charlie Bond Street 1982!!!! NOW THATS PURE CLASS!!!!!! Enjoy it, treasure it, what more could you want right?!?!? Fantastic comment, thank you for sharing that and the well wishes. Best regards, TGV
+The Urban Gentry Thanks for the kind reply mate! I took a quick, if slightly blurb picture to share with you. s7.postimg.org/3stkb34mz/IMG_20160116_WA0000.jpg all the best! Josh
+Alan Croly Thank you Alan, I was exactly in the same boat, but I can't deny it has totally change my perception on gold and two tone pieces. Best regards, TGV
I also call My Tudor 94000 from 1993 my "Darling". So refined and classy AND it's 34mm - yes I'm man enough for a smaller watch, we have very similar wrist sizes. A beautiful silver sunburst dial with the classic folded steel bracelet- never selling this one! I pair it with my Black Bay Blue as my two everyday watches, and my SKX009 (which I bloody love) as my beater! Cheers from Australia TVG!
Noooo!!! Did I hear you say that you got rid of your old Tudor?? It was hands down my favorite watch of yours! That was a incredibly sharp looking watch. I thought that it was a Prince as well, but it didn't look anything like the watch in this video.
gorgeous watch, at a glance just like the 86 datejust 16013 I just picked up. I'm 47 so I was in high school when these watches came out. To me they are not dated but classic. All you need now is a white Armani suit with a black t shirt...lol. Very Miami Vice.
there is just something about a Tudor or Rolex day-date that is so clean and beautiful. the fit on the wrist is perfect. im also a fan of the fluted bezels.
Hey TGV I think you need an Explorer 1 36mm. I think you were meant for that watch it's a perfect size and unstated style. ps not digging the orange strap on the tudor tho lol. Fantastic channel well done.
Hi TGV I loved your video about the skx009j and now I want to buy one with a metal band but I don't know where to buy it online and which website to trust with genuine watch, so can you recommend a website please? thank you
Hi TGV, great find! It's a nice dress watch with the kind of understatement I like. Leaning towards gold(ish) watches too lately. As you mentioned, it's fun play with different straps. I got my vintage NOS Darwil today. Stainless case but a beautiful creamy dial with golden hands and markers. 35 mm diameter and 8 mm high. Hand winding Paseux 7050 caliber. I'm in love! ;) Best regards, Claus
Certainly a pure class piece! We seems to have similar taste as I do owned a vintage 70s 2 tones Rolex datejust with linen dial as well. I have mine on a bright blue strap and it goes very well with the gold fluted bezel and dial. Try it on yours, I'm sure you will like it. Thanks for sharing TGV!
Great video although it was torture to watch. Kept thinking back about twelve years when I sold mine on. Hindsight is a great thing. Good to see you back.
+Daniel McLaughlin I know EXACTLY how that feels, only last week I saw an Omega I used to own and cherish on the wrist of a friend, made me miss it like crazy!!! Don't worry, you can always buy another, well, thats what I tell myself, so unfair, too many watches not enough money and time!!! Great comment, cheers Daniel. Best regards, TGV
good choice and nice video! im also thinking on getting a vintage tudor but cant decide, as they are so many online lol... btw, i cant wait for the state of the collection 2016 video!!! cheers!!!
I like it. Classy. I like having a yellow gold watch. In my case it's a gold toned Bambino 2, but I love it. I'll have to try some colored straps like you've shown.
Absoulutely stunning intro and review,TGV!Intro gives all the review such a beautiful atmosphere, love it!By the way, what's the name of the song which plays in the beggining?
@TGV I have a very similar gold tone Citizen from the 80's, handed down from my grandfather. Its currently on a horrible glossy brown crocodile-grain leather strap. What color leather strap would you recommend to really bring back to life?
+blacktornado1999 Great question, I think bright colours really work with gold so try purple, dark glossy greens, royal blue etc... Thank you for watching, Best regards, TGV
+Shawn Chinnery Thank you Shawn, I am a relativity new member to the church of tudor, but I am happy I converted ;-) I can totally see why you are a fan. Best regards, TGV
I found this URL. forums.watchuseek.com/f23/tudor-prince-day-date-94613-case-size-3674146.html If this is correct, the beautiful watch in the video is 94613, not 94614. What do you think?
Very nice, and I love that texture on the dial. The size looks perfect on you, and the sooner the wall clock size fad ends the better. There is a review from last summer on "Luxury Lifestyle" of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual with the olive dial in 34mm, and on his 7" wrist it looks great. Gawd, I sure wish I could get that watch.
I'm not into light coloured dial watches, but this is really classy. Strap suggestion: Meyhofer model Catania in yellow, beige or orange, and RIOS 1931 model New Orleans in beige or orange. :)
Woulld love a vintage Rolex day/date but i'm not too keen on precious metals so i went for a Datejust instead. The linen dial looks really cool but i'd prefer the piece in steel tbh. Granted it looks a little bit dressier in the 2-tone but it's just not for me. In any case it's still a very tidy piece.
Love it! Great strap with the springbar mechanism on my clockwork synergy I just showed on my SARB035 on Facebook. Needs the distressed leather version. Odd though the Facebook group I'm in has a guy with a super long name he uses now because FB cannot handle the governor! 😉
TGV makes me want watches I have never been interested in.
+Ville Nummisalo LOL, I have the same effect on myself so I know what it's like, just can't get enough of them.
Best regards,
TGV
Same here !!!
I've just bought this watch myself based on how much I've loved it listening to TGV and his reviews
Darn it TGV, you keep reviewing watches that I end up liking and they suddenly end up on my must have list..
RaiderInNY Haha, right? Except for the Rolexes... :'[
But yeah, I got the Tag Heuer GMT next up on the list, then this Tudor.
+Christian Espinoza Haha, well you must have great taste ;-)
Thank you my friend, best of luck, I am sure you will get one and love it!
Best regards,
TGV
Very retro looking, love the fluted bezel. Wear it in good health my friend.
+FR33STyla72 Thank you my friend!

I love these Tudor Prince Date Days! Interesting fact, these are still in production.
The last 10 years I collect watches, including vintage pieces which I really love. These watches have a lot of history behind, but also are wearable. There's something so nice about a watch with a history. If only it could talk. My search for a vintage piece continues.
+chavo8891 Totally agree, excellent point.
Thank you of adding that,
Best regards,
TGV
Yes TGV been waiting for this review since you got it!! Having a cup of coffee and a sit down with my 009 while watching TGV what more would I want right now?

This two toned day date is goals !!
I think we're about the same age so hopefully it also worries you a bit that something from the early 80s is now vintage as well! :)
That bezel is beautiful! The size is perfect and that design is pretty dressy, casual and timeless. You could wear that watch for the rest of your life without looking dated. Congrats

I love that intro so much , played it like 3 times
Thank you Luciano :D

What a beautiful watch TGV!! I have been looking at these for some time now...dependable, doesnt cost a fortune to service and of course amazing quality! Great vid as always friend!
Greetings from Germany,
I discovered your channel about half a year ago and you got me into horology.
Thanks to you I'm going to get a squale 1545 as my first automatic.
Just as reference I'm 19 years old.
+aSha dow Thank you, so glad to hear, the 1545 will serve you well, great place to start, enjoy it!
Best regards,
TGV
Apparently the baton hour marks are in silver or gold is that correct? Tgv, you should have kept it...for its rarity and high price now
What a stunning piece! It has most certainly opened my eyes to gold and two tone watches. I am simply enamoured with this piece!
+Chris Comiskey Thank you Chris! How have you been? Have not heard from you for a while, hope all is well
Best regards,
TGV
+The Urban Gentry I have been fine, thank you. I am very glad to see that you have recovered well from hospital and doing great. I have been very busy with schoolwork recently as I have my GCSE exams just around the corner, hence my lack of comments. But I still to carve out time to watch your videos. The Tudor has started to make me feel like getting the two tone Seiko 5 model for myself lol! I also plan on getting a Hamilton Khaki King as a reward for my exams, what are your thoughts? Sorry for the long reply!
Hope all is well and good,

What’s the size of the gold Rolex crown for replacement parts?
Love my all stainless Jubilee Datejust from '87. Owned it since new. The hands, appointments on the face, etc. are the same as yours. I enjoy the acrylic on mine instead of sapphire a) because of the domed profile, and b) because it is fun to polish the scratches out of it and see it shine with clarity again. Very satisfying :)
You had me in stitches when you mentioned Harry Enfield's 'Loadsa Money'! Well played Sir!
What about the 7962 model good?
Just bought a Tudor D/D 94613 on jubilee- Thanks to this video and the group's recommendations - Same linen background and everything.
Will post into the group as soon as I get it!
Cheers!
+G Rosati So glad to hear, I hope it will bring you much happiness.
Looking forward to seeing it.

Hello Tristano, what do you think of the bulova homage super seville day date in blue?
very nice and I think it's the same size as my old air king oyster perpetual ..perfect vintage look .
+Marktuyet Thank you! Love the Air Kings.

Thank you Colin,

In my opinion the day-date complication in a dress watch gives that little bit more of elegance. The design of the case really stands out, in fact in the "dress watch competition giveaway" I was sure it was a Rolex Day-Date.

What is aftermarket Rolex buckle? No offense but isn't that considered as counterfeit?
Question: the Tudor Prince Oysterdate 72033 sold by Jomashop has the ROLEX logo on its crown-screw. Is it not genuine then ? Has that crown-screw been added to it later ? Can anyone answer this?
pure class tgv! might have to get one now!

So similar to my American psycho Datejust which am absolutely loving, vintage two tones on strap is pure class IMO. Nice review as always TGV.
+CK ROY Thank you CKR! :D

A really beautiful watch. I always love the side view of an Oyster case, it's something I didn't really appreciate till I actually handled one.
Nice one TGV! Glad to see your recovery is going well :) Looking forward to the state of the collection video.
Got one of these beauties in for review! Blue dial with gold hands and indices! love it

gorgeous watch, at a glance just like the 86 datejust 16013 I just picked up.
+gfk22 Thank you, totally agree.

I have the same watch. a gift from my wife in the mid 90's with bracelet. Great little dress watch, enjoy!
+Bob Shore That makes the watch even cool to know you have it too ;-)
Thank you my friend,

Those date day wheels are gold, not faded
phew, i thought that the crown meant that it is a frankenstein watch.
Hey TGV I think you need an Explorer 1 36mm. I think you were meant for that watch it's a perfect size and unstated style. ps not digging the orange strap on the tudor tho lol. Fantastic channel well done.
This intro music reminds me of Stellar 7, an old DOS game. Love the idea of that quick release leather band
been a long time fan of your channel. very classy. keep it up!
+Mark Anthony Thank you so much Mark, very kind.

Hi TGV
I loved your video about the skx009j and now I want to buy one with a metal band but I don't know where to buy it online and which website to trust with genuine watch, so can you recommend a website please?
thank you
Hi TGV,
great find! I'm in love! ;)
Best regards,
Claus
+Claus-L. Müller (CLMac66) Thank you Claus, LOVE that Darwil, saw it the Facebook club, very nice indeed!!!

+João Vitor Amaral Silva Thank you Joao, so glad you like it.

+POH TECK HIAN Sure I would love it! Thank you for sharing that, enjoy them!

Hi TGV, brilliant watch and review as well, just wondering where can I get one of those gold rolex buckles?
16:38 *DATE-DAY, not DAY-DATE. I noticed that Tudor just reverse these words around.
good choice and nice video! im also thinking on getting a vintage tudor but cant decide, as they are so many online lol... btw, i cant wait for the state of the collection 2016 video!!! cheers!!!
Just the perfect watch for your wrist . Love it also in silver with blue dial .Can you recommand some dealers of vintage watch ?
Loving that linen dial and would look EPIC on that suede strap!
+Quiet Life YESSSSSSS!!!!! excellent idea, must try it later! Thank you,

Nice looking watch, a birth year watch is cool. Cheers.
Beautiful find! I think it would look quite good on the right navy blue leather strap as well
+Michael Z. YESSSSS! Totally agree,
Thank you,

All that's missing is a cup of tea...good job old boy.
I really like the watch. I need to look into a vintage piece soon.
From whom exactly did TGV buy this piece from?
I like it.
PLZ HELP!!
Nice review as allways! I got me thinking about getting a watch from my birth year...
+Nevillius I think its a rally cool concept and make is that much more special.
Cheers,

@TGV I have a very similar gold tone Citizen from the 80's, handed down from my grandfather. Its currently on a horrible glossy brown crocodile-grain leather strap. What color leather strap would you recommend to really bring back to life?
+blacktornado1999 Great question, I think bright colours really work with gold so try purple, dark glossy greens, royal blue etc...
Thank you for watching,

TGV
Great Tudor....I'm a big fan of the brand....love the channel aswell
+Shawn Chinnery Thank you Shawn, I am a relativity new member to the church of tudor, but I am happy I converted ;-)
I can totally see why you are a fan.

What is the difference between Ref.94614 and 94613?
I found this URL. forums.watchuseek.com/f23/tudor-prince-day-date-94613-case-size-3674146.html
If this is correct, the beautiful watch in the video is 94613, not 94614.
+CHRIS LJ OMG I LOVE that Oyster Perpetual too.
Totally agree about the "clock size fad", nice one, thank you.

I'm not into light coloured dial watches, but this is really classy. Strap suggestion: Meyhofer model Catania in yellow, beige or orange, and RIOS 1931 model New Orleans in beige or orange. :)
+Luca Simoncini Thank you Luca!
Will check out your suggestion asap.

Nice video makes my day when I watch these thanks
+Tom Marshall Thank makes my day to hear!
