- Among all the NYC street foods, pizza in New York City is among the best. And while standard pizza in NYC is bar none, sometimes you just want a cheap eat in New York. The ultimate NYC cheap eat is the dollar slice of pizza. Inflation has created hard times for all of us. The NYC dollar pizza is quickly becoming a thing of the past, but luckily 99 cent fresh pizza still makes one dollar pizza in New York City. In this video of UA Eats, we eat at the three original New York $1 pizza joints, 99 Cent Fresh, 2 Bros Pizza, and Percy's Pizza. These slices are now $1 pizza, $1.50 pizza, and $2 pizza respectively. Don't think they are interchangeable though, a mere 50 cents makes a huge difference in quality! Check out my $1 pizza review. These cheap pizza slices won't be among the best pizza in New York City, but they definitely are great bang for their buck! I consider them among the best pizza in NYC when it comes to value. I also spent so much time eating the food and enjoying myself that I got mistaken for filming a pizza mukbang!

Overall $1 to $1.50 range, 2Bros Pizza seems to be consistent with their taste. I haven't been to Percy's, but I have walked by the place. If that "fold" with Percy's is as you described, seems like well worth $2.
I recommend giving Percy's a try! It's definitely worth $2. I would pay $3 for it personally. I can't believe it was once $1

$1 pizza does not exist in my city in Canada. That is an amazing deal and even more so with the exchange rate. This provides option for students and the homeless. Love that those kids knew what a mukbang was.

I'd say Joe's is better (depending on location) but Percy's is amazing for the price! Better than many $3 places

Are the cheap slices in NYC only cheese pizza? When I lived in Vancouver 30 years ago, they had a lot of one dollar pizza places downtown, with a lot of choices with different toppings. Not sure if that is still the case in Vancouver though.

There's an exceptional $1.00 pizza place (now $1.50) on 23rd st off 7th Ave. It's genuine thin crust pizza I don't even know where else you can find that outside places that only sell whole pies. If you get back to NYC try it it's truly an anomaly.

Looks good but I'd never put hot sauce on my pizza. Red pepper flakes yeah and maybe grated cheese.
Hot sauce is fine on lesser quality foods like instant macaroni and cheese, lesser quality pizza, etc….

I hate dollar pizza..most used pre made crust that taste like cardboard, watered down sauce, and fake mozzarella cheese...but correct when you're broke and hungry, its the way to go....
Haha yeah you definitely get what you pay for. When I was broke though it was definitely a go-to, and the $2 slice at Percy's is actually surprisingly good!
@@uaeats Two Bros was the go-to spot before they started cutting back on ingredients, down to the parmesan cheese..I live within 6-7 spots in Manhattan, and I skip them all...Its a cash-only business that takes advantage of drunken bar hoppers at 2 am...in my neighborhood..😅
