I never jumped on the VB beauty train so don’t own any of her products (it’s just out of my budget, as I buy so much LE). But from what I’ve seen online, they smudge on hooded lids. I think they are probably both equally good in terms is ease of application and creaminess, and it just depends on what you are looking for! ☺️
The VB one smudges on my eyes. If I apply in the morning, no matter how I do it, it will be all over my undereyes by lunch. I had the dark brown colour in VB and I ordered ground coffee from LE so hopefully it sets more.
These look beautiful on you! I was hoping the initial smudging after dry-down was due to product being thickly applied, but I saw your note that it smudged throughout the day. I might investigate one of these other options. Thank you! edit: waterproof is a claim most liners make now, but it’s sweat and oil resistance I’m after!

I wish I’d gotten Night Forest instead, especially since I finally got to order the Sorcery palette too. Rats!! Night Forest was pretty on you. I wish they were more smudge proof. With as creamy as they are, I guess that’s not surprising. I totally agree, the LH do not budge. They last without smudging even on my oily, hooded lids.
I ended getting the Renaissance gold pencil because it's so unique, and i love it! It does smudge a bit but i don't mind it too much with the light color and sparkle. It does blend so easily and I've been using it like an eyeshadow stick. But like you were saying in this video the lighter shade does better with less smudging than the darker color would do, and I'm glad i saw your review before getting all the darker shades. Based on the marketing i would have been very disappointed in the dark colors. I'm looking forward to try dark color LH pencils!

Well this just convinced me to try LH pencils instead! They have a similar luxury look but the smudging issue of these new pencils is a big problem. I have oily, hooded lids so I know I'd end up very unhappy with the smudging issue. Thanks so much for the honest review!

You just inspired me to test my new Natasha Denona Macro Tech Eye Crayons and they passed the smudge test on my hand. I’ve used them on my water line and they work really well. I have the shades Camu Camu and Willow. The Lisa Eldridge pencils look beautiful especially the pearly ones and I usually prefer matte pencils. I’m interested in the LH pencils as well.
Great review. I'm an eyeliner person over eyeshadow so I had to get these and test against the Victoria Beckham ones! In a quick summary - they're both good and I'm curious to see what colors Lisa has next. Both are 1.2g but VB has a sponge smudger at the end so you might get less actual product. The LE pencil is slimmer and SOLID and I think good for detail, plus the color at the end is handy. VB is great for the waterline. Both smudge, lol. What's so interesting to me is the *way* they smudge, at least on my eyes. When Lisa's smudge they stick. I find it difficult to just wipe away, whereas it's easier with VB which is a little frustrating for me. It's even harder to remove Lisa's with her cleanser! (which I do love).
I think since the formula has a longer set time so if you put loads and loads on like you done on the back of your hand it takes ages to set. If you just do a line like you usually would and let it sit for 5 or so it sets pretty well.
Hey, thank u for a great video. My “ground coffee” liner arrived on friday n have been testing it for 2 days- its trully beautiful how it applies n the colour is great BUT since my eyelids n skin is oily finding a smudge proof liner is not easy. Unfortunately after about 2hrs i had panda eyes (under my eyes). The upper lid remained ok -used the pencil as a liner on top of an eyeshadow. So far the only pencil tht never betrays me is charlotte tilb - the black one (i can put it in my water line , under the lid n it doesnt go anywhere for hrs… i have sensitive eyes as well so often liners irritate my eyes n they start watering). Will try the LH one- thxs for a tip :-)
The gold pencil looks like the perfect combination of Sisley Mystic Gold (too yellow-toned like pirate treasure!) and Sisley Sparkling Brown, which is lovely but the glitter is quite chunky! I had hoped this would be lighter in fairness, still on the hunt for a taupe-bronze sparkle eyeliner (like Hourglass Solstice but not as yellow-toned). If you know of any other please let me know! xx
Hi, I just went to check out the LH crayon eye pencils that she showed were budge proof. And I saw the shade Zhao on there which looks exactly like what you're describing! That's one I'm planning to pick up.

@@stilettostandards1160 just wanted to let you know that I finally got the LH liner in Zhao. It's incredibly beautiful but I'm not sure it's exactly what you are looking for. It's definitely taupe, but closer to a champagne shimmer than brown. It's definitely not brown at all (but neither is LE Renaissance gold!). Also the shimmer is extremely bright, which I love, but it isn't subtle. The glitters aren't huge but I'd definitely say there are visible glitter particles. I love it though, it glides on beautifully and it looks bright like a gorgeous shimmer eyeshadow but it stays in place.
Thank you for such a detailed review with all the comparisons - I just purchased the LE liners and find them a bit too soft to do a hard liner look. So only smudgy liner looks with them (for me) and this confirms it - creamy eyeshadow stick for sure.

I got burnt umber and I applied it to upper and lower lash line and blended with a short stubby brush that I use to blend out all of my eyeliners. I was hoping for a nice smoky look but it blended away to almost nothing. Very disappointed! Will try again with a different brush maybe! It does apply very wet which is wild.
@@alliedean6801 oh no, that’s weird. Hmm I felt like it was okay on my eyes after a second layer. I blended out less the second time to keep it Smokey around the lash line tho!
I have contacted them myself as I’m so disappointed in the longevity, mine was on for 10 minutes before serious smudging and transferring onto both the eye lid and underneath. In the corners, it disappears completely on me. Really really disappointing considering her usual standards.
@@Kat-VT They initially offered me some tips, but I had tried all those. And considering they’re being marketed as smudge proof, and set after 45 seconds etc, they certainly do not. So they were happy to offer a full refund for both pencils xx

The burnished gold looks great for an easy daily eye! The colour is rather unique and not something easily found at the drugstore. That is the colour I would get in my next order 😊

Is it OK to tightline with eye pencil in the upper waterline while wearing contacts? If so, which brands are the most suitable for this. Thanks!
Hi Janet ☺️ just a disclaimer: as I’m not your optometrist or doctor and don’t know what lens you use or your general eye health, I can only give you a general statement. ☺️ As long as your practise good contact lens hygiene (changing them everyday, washing and storing them, not showering/swimming etc etc) it’s okay to wear eyeliner in the waterline. You might find the liner giving you little styes because the liner may block the oil glands in the eyelids from excreting oil. I’m not sure brands-wise to be honest, as long as they’ve been properly tested and say it’s suitable for waterline, I think it’s fine. 😊
oh no, I was so excited for these to be budge proof, I have European hooded eyes and for example VB liners transfer all over the place and literally just absorb into my skin - disappear...so I was really looking froward to these liners, but now I am a bit disappointed if these are not budge proof either. I got the two matte browns. Thank you for reviewing them! :)
The LE doesn’t absorb and disappear but they did smear on my upper lid, where it creases, there was a little bit of transfer onto my lower lid. Just use them like creamy eyeshadow pencils and set with powder, then you are all good :) they are still beautiful, just unfortunately not budge proof! ❤️
I’m glad there is a little wiggle room there. Have you watched Lisa’s video on 90s eye looks that are once again popular today? It’s almost impossible to recreate them because eyeliners set all too quickly and firmly today. These are supposed to be creamier for longer to help you do eye looks with them and then start to set after 40 seconds. I love that you have 40 seconds to blend them out and I don’t mind if they end up imperfect at the end of the day. I don’t require perfection. My eyes water due to allergies so it happens no matter what I’m wearing. As long as it isn’t halfway down my face I am good. I wouldn’t rub my eyes as firmly as she was rubbing her hand while doing the smudge test so no worries there.
Too bad they smudge throughout the day. Did they disintegrate at the corners, were the eyes get teary? Did they transfer to the hood of the lid? Did you get racoon eyes? Also, how did they do set with eyeshadow?
They didn’t disintegrate, eyes weren’t teary. They did transfer where my upper lid creases, and a little bit on the lower lid too. I have plans to test them a bit more in multiple ways, only had them for a day and a half :)
@@passioncompassionhumorstyle I think in her video, she said once they set down, they don’t budge. Also the website said says it’s budge-proof. I would have thought that means they don’t smear or smudge, but unfortunately I didn’t find that to be the case. 🙁
I agree with you on the Mark Jacob ones. It tacks the skin and as you I just cannot get the sharpener off, and it is just a mess to turn up or down, etc. Will never recommend that to anyone.
I feel like maybe they weren’t that tacky when I first got them and they tugged less. They are quite old now so I think the formula has deteriorated. LH cosmetics liners FTW 🥳
There are many creamy eye pencils out there already, for me if they don’t stay put without smudging, that’d stand out but if not, I’m going to have to pass. 😔

They do build up quite well, have you tried going in with a second layer? :) they ARE so liquid-y right?!

They smudge and disappear terribly on me, so gutted I spent money on getting two of them 😞

I agree with you on the Mark Jacob ones. It tacks the skin and as you I just cannot get the sharpener off, and it is just a mess to turn up or down, etc. Will never recommend that to anyone.
I feel like maybe they weren’t that tacky when I first got them and they tugged less. They are quite old now so I think the formula has deteriorated. LH cosmetics liners FTW 🥳

yes it has a very dark base and the gold is only the sparkles on top, I think it is a colour that will flatter all eye colours though ❤

There are many creamy eye pencils out there already, for me if they don’t stay put without smudging, that’d stand out but if not, I’m going to have to pass. 😔
