This was the review we needed, thank you! I was surprised when I saw the release just how similar they are, and decided not to pick anything up. If she expands the range and comes out with something a bit more unique though they really look like a good option.
Great review! That’s why I only picked up the burnt umber and wore it yesterday, as I didn’t see a VB liner (my favorite) dupe. I’d say it’s pretty identical to the VB kajals, so unless there’s a unique color, I’ll stick with the VB since they also include the smudger on the opposite end. Thanks for posting this! ❤
Burnt Umber is such a pretty shade! 😍 I really want that one! I don’t have a lot of traveling or smearing with VB so I think I’ll get along with the LE just fine! I hope she comes out with more shades. This release has a lot of dark shades. I hope she does something lighter and more vivid next! (In your side by side you’d never know you had two completely different brands on!)
Burnt umber totally blew me away! I think if you enjoy the vbb you will enjoy this formula. They're incredibly similar. I also mentioned wanting lighter shades coz even Renaissance gold is sooo dark! I am sure she will come out with more!

Owhhh, you are right! I used to have the pillow talk liner. But in my memory, it was more reddish toned, but maybe they're more similar than i remember. The pillow talk liner in my memory wasn't flattering on me, but burnt umber is amazing.❤️❤️❤️❤️ I am happy you enjoyed the review.

The issue I have with LE are her claims that these are "budge proof"--THEY ARE NOT!! Both VB and LE seem to be manufactured at the same factory--right down to the packaging. Many people will buys these based on her claims, which is false advertising! Furthermore, there are so many other cheaper options for base purposes to powder eyeshadow--the Merit matte pots solo shadows work great as base pigments for powder adhesion.
My comment section is very divided regarding the VBB liner formula. Some say they dont smudge and others say they just slip and slide. So my only conclusion is that the same customer that enjoys the VBB formula will like LE since the formulas are the same haha. But same can be said for those that hate the VBB formula its an easy pass. I do hope my demo can help the people that bought this formula and it smudges to find a way to make it work for them as well. I dont want people to have wasted their money. On me these are not not budge free afterall ❤️ The freaking merit pots. I want them so bad! Merit doenst ship to the EU just yet. So maybe a UK friend can help me out!

I’m down to the half of the pencil with my LE Renaissance Gold and I haven’t been using it for long (obviously). I don’t think I will go through it within a few weeks. I am not willing to pay 27£ for an eye pencil every month.
@dobcsek totally fair! Keep a little left and maybe go into sephora tp find a sephora dupe? I used to bring my old loved lipsticks to the cosmetic counters to find my favorite shade in the best formula. I hear sephora brand eyeliners are really good which is why i suggested sephora. Sadly the Netherlands doenst have a sephora so i havent tried them.

Chanel foundations always give me the BEST skin this is the revitalizing no 1 de Chanel foundation. I wanted to do a fuller coverage than my usually sheer or none. Happy the review was helpful!

You’re right about the LE renaissance gold eyeliner. It’s a dead ringer for VB smoky quartz. But, I find that the LE version is less pigmented and fades down. There is another eye liner that comes very close. It’s the Linda Hallberg eyeliner in spahr flash. It’s smudge proof and more pigmented.
Great suggestion! I am secretly also interested in trying the LH cosmetics liquid shadows! They look so shimmery and beautiful. Maybe I will do a big order someday!❤️
Burnt umber is soooo pretty! Its the one i would recommend to everyone that has a lot of VBB liners and are looking for a new color. Its a very similar formula

Im still waiting for mine,i was most excited about umber ( i really missed my marc jacobs dupe) . I have seen other reviews and the LE smeared really badly, hope it will be ok for me as VB only does that in an extremely hot day( don't have an oily lid). Hoping for the best. Also cinnamon was a metallic more middi brownish color with just tiny bit red, umber is a nicer color so you didn't miss out. Glad to have you back whenever you can
Omg burnt umber is so stunning! You sre right its like the Marc Jacobs one! This formula is so similar to VBB. A lot of people find the VBB ones incredibly smearing so i am not surprised if the same people hate this formula as well. But i think the VBB customer will love this as well

Hi Sonia, thanks for the video😊 I ordered the renaissance gold and forest green. Both look beautiful although the gold was much darker than I was expecting. I agree they blend exactly like VB. I’m pleased I held off on the grey as I have VB in ash but think I will get the burnt umber. Btw your skin looks beautiful xx

Does have a strong scent but the finish is divine!
How do you like the burnished gold? Does it smudge a lot? My liner in Smokey Quartz from VB that look similar I find the gold flecks down all over my face when I wear it-though I love the shade, so was wondering about that one.
Such a helpful video, Sonia! Ground Coffee smudged horribly on me but Night Forest held up better. I’ll need to compare with VBB head to head because I always wear VBB with budge proof eyeshadows but agree the creaminess and blendability are very similar.

VBB is technically better deal since you get a smudger and the price mentioned in the video is the price including a Sharpener. With a sale VBB wins since the formula is basically the same. Burnt umber however is beautiful! I am wearing it again today. Thanks for the hugs xxxxx
Good, honest review. they don't hold up as well as the VB liners, but the Forest Green is a great color. Oddly, Burnt Umber irritates my eyes. I am quite disappointed in them overall and don't think they live up to the LE brand.
So sorry to hear that! I do agree with you that LE often blows me away and these liners are kind of not living to the hype of the rest of the brand. They feel like an add on product but not the main star✨️

@valbal863 my favorite VBB liners are cocoa, bronze (metallic) and Bordeaux! Bordeaux is a surprise color for me but it looks great with rose toned eye looks. All 3 very wearable. Bronze is beautiful even all over the lid with a topper shade ❤️

The Hindash brown liner is a lovely colour (I have it) but it does need to be set with a powder eyeshadow on top, whereas the others don't.
I agree, the hindash formula is not my favorite but the color is very beautiful. I am ready to declutter it and see if Burnt Umber can takeover ❤️
