  • Welcome back to Aurora Tech Channel. I have made quite a lot of videos for reviewing and upgrading 3D printers, as well as desktop CNC machines. This will be my first video for a laser engraver. Like most people when they’re just getting started, I would like to try an entry-level affordable machine to get my feet wet. After comparing with quite a few similar machines, I found that they are basically the same in terms of the design, working area, and laser module. I chose this Comgrow Mini Laser Engraver as I previously tried their Robo CNC and made a video to upgrade the spindle to 500W, and I was quite happy with the result. So, today, I will review their machine and share with you what you can expect from this $150 budget-friendly machine.

    I am in the market for a laser/engraver and someone suggested this one. I searched and saw your video! My word young lady you are a AMAZING!!!! So professional and explained things that even this old 70 yr old can understand. Thank you and your brother for your dedicated hard work. Some other adults could take lessons from you! Bless your heart!

    This kid's videos are INCREDIBLE by any metric, even compared to many adult's videos. The amount of time she (and her brother... and maybe a parent or two?) spend creating the script, setting up, filming, editing, etc., is probably pretty extensive, but it shows of their quality content! I'm now subscribed and looking forward to many more videos. I hope a lot of people like & subscribe to encourage their efforts! I've never thought of adding a laser engraver to my 3D printer arsenal, but I'm thinking about it now. :) (BTW, I just discovered you are just a few towns South of me... what a small world!)

    Okay, so I wasn't wrong to be disappointed with 99% of reviews with their aimless waffling on about nothing. Clearly an actual literal _child_ is able to clearly and concisely deliver the important details of a product instead of spending 5 minutes unboxing, 4 minutes reading off the spec sheet, and then 1 minute 50 seconds of trivial use to reach the 10 minute mark.
    Well done kiddo, looking forward to more videos. Keep your eyes safe and be careful of toxic gases. A way of drawing away fumes will both keep you healthy and prevent that "singed smoky" look in your projects.

    I love that in your videos you actually say pros AND cons regardless of your recommendation. I feel like in other videos people only say positive things if they recommend "buy" and only say negative things if they recommend "don't buy". You are happy to push the machines beyond their limits, but then not hold that against them! bravo!

    Nicely done video. Convinced me for my simple needs to go with this over the more expensive LaserPecker. It is a bit stronger, but I’m only looking to engrave wood, acrylic, and anodized metals, so this will do just nicely.

    Thank you for the great video. I am interested in getting a laser for my cnc machine to cut 1/8 inch abs plastic sheet to make a diy transformer winding bobbin. I have cut one out with a 1.8 inch mill, but think the laser could possible do a cleaner job. A video on the various laser options would be very helpful.

    Thanks for your great video. I notice that there is some ink on the silver scale plate after laser engraving or cutting, alcohol can be used to remove these stains easily. And for the glass engraving, you can try the laser paper in the parcel. First, cut the engraving paper to the right size, then cover the glass or ceramic surface after dipping in water, lay flat, and start engraving, after the engraving is completed, remove the excess engraving paper from the surface after dipping in water.

    I love this. Can it cut through 2-3mm acrylic? And is it possible to control it with standard open-source firmware and PC software? I don't love the idea of being dependent on a proprietary smartphone app!

    • @comgrowamazonafter-salehug1296
      @comgrowamazonafter-salehug1296 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is only a small mini laser, and the laser power is only 1.6W, so it is not strong enough to cut through 2-3mm acrylic.
      can only cut through the wood within 1mm and other soft such as paper. It also have the PC software, when you download the App, and there is a Interface can write your email, and then you can get PC software download link in the email

    • @AuroraTech
      @AuroraTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 1.6W laser of this machine is not for cutting, I think you need at least 5W laser to cut that, I will post a few more laser engraver videos in Dec, including 5W and 10W laser.

    with the proliferation of these hobby/compact engravers/cutters... PLEASE make sure you have proper ventilation. airflow through a room with a boxfan in a window will suffice if you're not staying in the room during cutting, but some materials _will_ offgas some toxic stuff during engraving/cutting.
    and as mentioned elsewhere, the glasses probably aren't suited. get a proper pair of laser glasses for the wavelength of the laser. one color/type does not fit all.
    and just to make sure everyone;s on the same page; don't stick your hand under there while its in operation! danger, will robinson!
    be safe, have fun!

    I'm curious about your relationship with Comgrow. I see you have sponsored links, at least. What is your financial relationship, sponsorship, or partnership of some kind with Comgrow? I don't see a disclosure.

    • @AuroraTech
      @AuroraTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Thanks for the good question. I am not sponsored by anyone, I have no agreements, contracts, or partnerships with any company. No one pays me to make any videos. My relationship with Comgrow, Creality, Sovol, TwoTrees, Prusa... as well as Amazon, and eBay is I registered affiliate accounts at their site. When viewers use the affiliate links under the description of the videos to make purchases, they won't pay more, but I will receive a small percentage of commission to support this channel.
      I would also ask if the company can provide some sort of discount code for our viewers, I also checked the price of the same machine on different marketplaces to make sure the discount code can actually save money before I put it under my video.
